Chapter 106: Ch 99: War and Ragnarok
[ Six Months ]
The two words written on the note that the Ancient One had left for him, answered all the questions he had for her.
The biggest threat to his life in this new universe, Thanos, had gone off to gain some mysterious power for an unknown time.
And the note answered him the time he would return.
"Six months, huh..." Erik sighed.
In the next six months, he would have to gain all the power he can to defend himself from Thanos.
Erik resolved himself.
In the next six months, to survive against Thanos, Erik at least had to upgrade and repair all of his system's functionalities and skills.
And that's just the bare minimum.
Also, since Supergiant was leading Thanos, he had to find a way to counter her somehow. Erik knows firsthand that Eldritch magic is deadly. Strange Supreme wasn't an easy opponent for him. Heck, he couldn't even figure out when he had trapped him in an illusion.
At that time, if Cindy wasn't there he would have died.
'That reminds me, along with me, Cindy and Wanda also need to get stronger.' Erik exhaled and turned to Alice.
"Alice, dear, maybe..." Erik turned to Alice with a regretful face, "We'll have to postpone your welcome after all. You see, Uncle needs to fight a really strong bad guy who's planning on disintegrating half of the life in the universe to dust."
Alice gasped, "Really!"
Erik nodded, "Hm, so will it be alright with you if I come back after six months?"
But furrowing her brows, the little girl tightened her fist, "Uncle, I can help, I have grown stronger!" She flared her nose.
Erik chuckled at her cuteness, still unsure how to explain the girl about the gravity of the situation, "Sure you are... but... you see, I'm still weak so, I need to go on a long time training, you get it?"
Alice sighed, "Fineee, I'll stay with Ancient One for some more time~" As much as she wanted to live with Wanda, Pietro, and him, seems like she'll have to wait a little more.
After bidding farewell to Alice, Erik returned to Mars, ready to lay out his plan to the others. In the quiet chambers of the Martian base, the group gathered—Wanda, Cindy, and Helen—listening intently.
Helen raised an eyebrow, "Really? How are we supposed to get stronger in just six months?"
Erik sighed, a bit exasperated. "Not you, Helen. You're... well, you're just a regular human. I'm talking about Cindy and Wanda."
Wanda glanced at Cindy before nodding thoughtfully. "But still, how are Cindy and I supposed to get stronger? You might have a sure fire method of killing strong enemies and getting stronger automatically, but we don't..."
"True," Erik admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. "But I know one sure way to give you immense power, Wanda. As for Cindy..." he trailed off, deep in thought. "We'll need to figure something out for you soon. Maybe trying to contact your mother goddess, Neith, might help. Asking her directly could be our best shot."
Cindy crossed her arms beneath her chest, unintentionally drawing his attention. "Hm, maybe I'll try meditating or something, see if I can reach her that way."
Erik nodded slowly, considering. "Meditation might help. But we need to act fast. Time is against us, and Thanos won't wait."
Wanda sighed deeply, her red eyes locking onto Erik's. "And what's your plan, Erik? You're not planning on sending us away for some long, lonely training montage, are you?" she asked, a slight smirk tugging at her lips. "You know I can't be away from you for too long."
Erik's chest tightened at her words, unsure whether to feel pleased or fearful. The intensity of her gaze always had that effect on him in times like these. Still, he forced a sad smile, the weight of what he had to say heavy on his shoulders.
"Wanda..." he began hesitantly, his voice barely above a whisper. "You might have to stay away from us for a while. How long that is will depend entirely on you. And..." He paused, glancing at Cindy and Helen briefly before turning back to Wanda. "The method is dangerous—extremely dangerous. You could lose yourself in the process. You might even become hell-bent on killing us or destroying the entire world. That's just how risky it is."
Wanda's expression faltered, her confidence giving way to concern. "That bad, huh?"
Erik nodded slowly, feeling the tension between them. "Yes. That bad."
Before Wanda could feel any more down, she felt a gentle pair of arms wrap around her from behind. Cindy hugged her softly, resting her chin on Wanda's shoulder.
"It's going to be okay," Cindy said softly.
"Thanks, Cindy," Wanda murmured, reaching up to gently hold Cindy's arm.
Erik raised his brows, it was rare to see Cindy acting this mature.
"Anyway," Erik began, breaking the quiet moment, "before I send Wanda to her training area, I'll need her and CIndy's help in... killing a planet."
Helen blinked, "Wait, what?"

[Asgard]
In a quiet, peaceful spot on the balcony of Asgard's grand palace, a small round table was set up with three people sitting around it.
Odin, the King of Asgard, gazed out over his kingdom with his one good eye, but his usual calmness was replaced with a bit of worry.
Beside him sat his wife, Frigga, the Queen of Asgard. She quietly traced the rim of her teacup with her fingers, her face showing signs of deep thought and sadness.
Across from them sat the Ancient One, the calm and wise woman dressed in a yellow robe.
Breaking the silence, Odin spoke up, his voice carrying a hint of nervousness, something unusual for him. "Yao," he addressed the Ancient One by her real name, one that only a few knew. "Is it beginning?"
It was clear that Odin, who had witnessed countless events in his long life, was troubled by what was to come.
The Ancient One, calm as ever, took a slow sip of her tea before answering. She placed her cup down and looked at Odin.
"Yes," she said quietly, her voice steady and sure.
The single word was enough to confirm everything Odin feared.
Frigga, who had been silent until now, lowered her gaze, sadness washing over her.
In a voice filled with regret, Frigga asked, "Will she forgive Odin... Me?" She couldn't bring herself to look up, the weight of her guilt pressing down on her.
The Ancient One glanced at her, a small, knowing smile on her face. She let out a soft sigh, not in mockery, but as a way of acknowledging the uncertainty of the future.
"I can't tell you that, Frigga," she replied kindly but firmly.
The Ancient One looked at both Odin and Frigga with wisdom that came from centuries of experience. "You've agreed to set this fate in motion," she said gently. "Now, you have to see it through. He will come here to take what's his and what's yours as well... and you'll have two options then."
While she was obviously younger than either of them, they knew that her words held power and that they should be respected.
"When I had bestowed that name to him... I didn't think the day would come so soon... Eirikyr, the Eternal Ruler, huh..." Odin sighed and then got up from his seat, "All we can do now, is wait..." he said quietly, "For the War and Ragnarok..."
