Marvel: I can summon heroes from League of Legends

Chapter 158: Chapter 154. Ding~ Skrull Detected!

As Noah entered the conference room, he quickly scanned the room. Besides the familiar Clint Barton, he noticed several people he hadn't seen before. Judging by their uniforms, they were S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. However, when his gaze landed on one of the agents, he sensed something amiss.

Hawkeye leaned against a wall, observing the newcomers. Several agents sat at the table, including a man with brown hair, slightly touched with gray. His face looked thin and worn, and at first glance, he didn't stand out. But Noah, with his sharp senses, picked up on something off. Perhaps it was a premonition brought on by his magical abilities—a sort of sixth sense.

"Lissandra, scan that guy," Noah instructed his partner.

Lissandra immediately activated the scanning system, directing her sensors at the agent. Although no one around could hear his commands, he preferred to be cautious. If something couldn't be detected visually, magic and technology should help. While Lissandra carried out his order, he attempted to examine the man using his own magic.

Talos, concealed by his disguise, grew uneasy. When the conference room door opened and Nick Fury and Black Widow entered with two strangers, he tensed. He recognized one of them—the well-built blond man—as Captain America. But the other, the man in the high-tech suit, made him apprehensive.

As a Skrull, he had seen much of the universe. He was familiar with various technologies he had encountered before. Tony Stark's armor, although impressive, seemed incomplete to him. But the suit worn by this man was on a completely different level. Moreover, Talos felt as if the man was staring intently at him.

As he wondered if he was imagining things, he suddenly felt a surge of energy pass through his body. Skrull bodies were highly sensitive to various energy types, and this wave made him involuntarily flinch.

"Screech…" Talos's chair creaked sharply, attracting the attention of everyone in the room.

"What happened, Agent Talos?" Nick Fury asked, frowning, unsure what could have startled the Skrull so much.

"Nothing, everything's fine. I just accidentally bumped the chair," Talos replied, trying to remain calm, though he was already panicking internally. The energy that had just passed through his body clearly emanated from the man in the suit. He began to suspect that his disguise had been compromised, but discussing this with Fury right now would be inappropriate. He decided to speak with him later, in private.

"Alright. Just be careful," Fury replied with a curt nod. He, too, sensed that something had happened and decided to address it later, privately.

The source of the energy wave, Noah, was slightly surprised that the man had somehow reacted to his magical scan. However, his magic had already fully revealed the stranger's true nature, and Lissandra's results were also imminent.

He calmly entered the conference room, took a seat at the table, and observed the scan data.

"Noah, based on the scan results, this man appears human externally, but his internal structure is significantly different," Lissandra reported.

"Yes, I noticed that too with my magic. He's definitely not human, most likely an alien," he replied, continuing to listen to Nick Fury's introductory briefing while simultaneously communicating with Lissandra through his armor's interface.

Pondering the alien's possible connection to Fury, Noah suddenly recalled a series from his past life. He hadn't watched it, but knew the basic plot points from various videos.

"It seems to be a Skrull—an alien race with the gift of transformation. They can flawlessly assume the appearance of other beings and, it seems, acquire their memories as well. I just don't remember if it's an innate ability or if they use technology for that," Noah mused, recalling the Skrull storyline.

"Adding information to the database," Lissandra had already begun creating a new data category for studying the Skrulls.

Noah wasn't a big fan of the movies released after "Avengers: Endgame," as he felt their quality had declined significantly. But the image of the Skrulls stuck with him because of their unique abilities. These beings could perfectly copy appearances, but their internal organs and structures remained unchanged—this is what he detected during the scan.

Moreover, Skrulls possessed the ability to copy human memories, allowing them not just to assume appearances, but also to replace individuals entirely. For instance, in "Secret Invasion," Skrulls abducted people, captured their memories, and replaced them, like James Rhodes, also known as War Machine.

However, he was most impressed by their technology, which allowed them to copy the powers of powerful beings like Thanos or Captain Marvel, becoming so-called "Super-Skrulls." This ability seemed extremely dangerous to him. He wondered if they could copy his abilities if they obtained his DNA.

Perhaps, if it involved his physical abilities, such as the Vastayan blood inherited from Sett. But the magical abilities he developed later would likely remain beyond their reach. Even if they could acquire his powers, it would only be a weakened version.

Regardless, he decided to mark the Skrulls as a potential threat and keep a closer eye on them.

Listening to Nick Fury, who was seriously discussing the current problems within S.H.I.E.L.D., Noah felt a sudden urge to tease him about his habit of making grand plans without sufficient resources.
