Marvel: I can summon heroes from League of Legends

Chapter 155: Chapter 151. The Gathering

Putting away his phone, Noah turned his attention back to the bustling street. While reviewing the call log, he noticed Nick Fury's location – Russia. Fury's phone was likely equipped with special protection to conceal his location, but Noah's technology was far more advanced, and he managed to pinpoint where Fury was.

Noah didn't understand why Nick Fury was suddenly in Russia. It seemed he should be in some secret location, interrogating the captured Hydra agents. Or perhaps Fury had a secret base in Russia as well?

He didn't know that a group of Skrulls working for Fury was also located in Russia. He was unaware of the events of "Secret Invasion," as he had never watched the series and only knew about it superficially, from some videos and articles.

Fury's call for help wasn't unexpected. He had anticipated that Fury would contact him again, especially after it became clear that there were Hydra agents within S.H.I.E.L.D. Now Fury couldn't trust his own people and was likely seeking outside assistance. He even assumed that Fury might turn to Captain America. Therefore, he decided to wait for Fury to call again to understand his next move.

While Noah was talking to him, the music in the square came to an end. When he hung up, the crowd was already applauding, and Gwen enthusiastically clapped along.

"Let's go find a place to eat," he suggested, glancing at his watch. It was already around noon, and he decided not to return home, but to have lunch at a good restaurant nearby.

Although the restaurant dishes couldn't compare to Lissandra's culinary masterpieces, they were good enough. Lissandra's cooking was simply superb, but that didn't mean the food in ordinary restaurants was tasteless.

"Yes, yes! Can we go to KFC?" Gwen suddenly suggested, making Noah smile.

"Fast food?" Noah asked with some surprise. He didn't understand why Gwen suddenly craved fried chicken.

"Yes!" Gwen smiled sheepishly. "I saw pictures and videos of KFC online and always dreamed of trying it."

Lissandra didn't usually cook fried food at home, and Gwen was too embarrassed to ask her, as many online sources labeled fast food as "unhealthy." However, she didn't know exactly what that meant.

So-called "unhealthy food" was high in fat, salt, and sugar, which could lead to obesity and various diseases. But this was relevant for ordinary people. For them, such food posed no threat; their enhanced bodies could easily digest such products.

"Of course, if you want, we can find a good KFC nearby. Lissandra, what do you think?" Noah didn't object. He also enjoyed indulging in such food occasionally, and he hadn't eaten fast food in a while.

"I found a highly-rated restaurant nearby. Let's go there," Lissandra wasn't against the idea of eating at KFC. She quickly found a well-regarded establishment nearby.

"Excellent, let's go!"

They then set off on foot towards the chosen restaurant.

...

Meanwhile, Nick Fury began his preparations. He gathered Talos, the leader of the Skrulls, and several other members of their race who were currently working within S.H.I.E.L.D. and had returned with Talos.

He didn't have many people left he could rely on, and he needed the Skrulls' help. Before leaving, he also took the memory extraction device – the "Memory Extractor." With Talos and the other Skrulls, they could reassemble and use this device when they returned to base.

After a long flight, the Quinjet once again arrived at Nick Fury's secret base and landed. Fury and several Skrulls emerged from the aircraft, carrying the disassembled "Memory Extractor," and headed towards the secret facility.

Coulson, Black Widow, and Hawkeye had already spent the entire night here. They managed to get some rest, although the situation with Hydra's infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D. was troubling them. Nevertheless, they understood that to successfully counter the upcoming threats, they needed to be in good shape. They were currently in a room, discussing their next steps, when Nick Fury entered, followed by several agents carrying equipment.

"Director, you're back," Coulson said, noticing that the agents who entered were S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel he knew.

"Director, and who are these..." Coulson wanted to ask Fury about the new people, but hesitated, not wanting to do so in their presence.

"Relax, Coulson, these agents have been vetted; I'm sure they're not from Hydra," Fury noticed his hesitation and decided to reassure him immediately.

Coulson relaxed, trusting the director's words. He greeted the arriving agents, many of whom he already knew.

"Agent Talos, it's good to see you again, especially in such a difficult situation," Coulson exchanged greetings with each of them.

While Coulson and the others exchanged pleasantries, Fury began preparing for the upcoming actions. He picked up his phone and started assembling his team. Although there were still Skrulls within S.H.I.E.L.D., it wasn't convenient to contact them now.

He decided to call Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. One of them was Iron Man, possessing advanced technology, and the other was Captain America, a super-soldier from World War II recently found by S.H.I.E.L.D. He intended to mobilize all available forces to combat the impending threat.

"Steve, it's Fury. I have some important information for you; it concerns Hydra," Nick said, preparing to discuss some serious news.
