Chapter 151: Chapter 147. Fury’s Actions

After meeting with Noah and receiving the suspected S.H.I.E.L.D. spies, Nick Fury loaded the unconscious agents onto the Quinjet. Then they set off for one of his secret bases. As the saying goes, a cunning fox has multiple dens, and Fury, as a seasoned special agent, knew this firsthand. The place they were heading to was just one of his many hideouts.

After about an hour of flight, the pilot landed the Quinjet in a remote area. Typically, secret bases were located in such deserted and isolated locations. This clearing had been specifically prepared for aircraft landings.

As the Quinjet touched down smoothly, the rear hatch slowly lowered, transforming into a ramp. Fury was the first to emerge, a serious expression on his face, his hands clasped behind his back. His black trench coat billowed behind him as he strode forward with quick, confident steps.

Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow, followed him out. She wore a tight-fitting black suit, her red hair swaying in the wind. Natasha had piloted the Quinjet and remained in the cockpit while Noah handed over the prisoners.

"I'll leave the heavy lifting to you men," Natasha said, addressing those who remained in the cargo hold, and took up a position near the ramp, waiting for the others.

Phil Coulson and Hawkeye emerged from the cargo hold, each dragging one of the unconscious agents. Although each agent weighed around 80 kilograms, Coulson and Hawkeye were in excellent physical condition, so they managed the task without much effort.

For this operation, Fury deployed three of his most trusted agents, underscoring the seriousness of the situation. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s security was at stake, and he couldn't afford any mistakes.

Coulson and Hawkeye laid the first two agents on the ground, then returned for the others, repeating the procedure. Soon, all four were on the ground. Tired after the work, Coulson wiped the sweat from his brow, while Hawkeye showed no signs of fatigue.

These agents should have regained consciousness much earlier, as Noah hadn't used any special spells on them. They were in a normal state of unconsciousness. But Fury, after receiving them, injected them with a special agent as a precaution, keeping them in a coma. Without the corresponding antidote, they would remain in this state, like vegetables.

After a brief absence, Fury returned, accompanied by several tall men in special uniforms. After greeting Natasha, Coulson, and Hawkeye, they loaded the four unconscious agents onto stretchers and carried them towards a nearby building.

Coulson and the others didn't recognize these men, and they didn't appear to be from S.H.I.E.L.D. In any case, Coulson, who knew most of the organization's agents, didn't recognize them. Those who worked at this base were Fury's personal squad, his loyal men, whom he typically found in various corners of the world, often orphaned at a young age. They were trained and prepared, practically turned into suicide operatives, which is why he could trust them completely.

"Let's go," Fury said. The interrogation phase was next.

With that, he headed towards the building hidden in the mountains. Coulson, Hawkeye, and Natasha followed him. Meanwhile, the Quinjet's hatch began to rise and soon closed, sealing shut.

Inside the base, the four agents walked down a long corridor towards the interrogation room. The room's walls were made of durable steel, painted dark gray, giving off an impression of impenetrability. A heavy metal door separated the inner and outer parts of the room. Nick Fury approached the door and entered a code on the panel next to it. The door slowly slid open, revealing the interior of the room.

He entered, followed by the other three agents. The four suspected traitors were already there, each securely fastened to a special chair. Their bodies were restrained so that they could barely move, only slightly turning their heads, preventing any resistance upon awakening.

This room was different from typical interrogation rooms – there was no one-way mirror, only a steel wall of gray color. A man in a white coat, who looked like a researcher, stood near the chairs. A variety of interrogation tools lay on the table beside him, some so sophisticated that even Natasha and Hawkeye, despite their experience, couldn't identify them.

"Begin," Fury said, looking at the researcher.

Receiving the command, the man in the white coat picked up a futuristic syringe filled with a mysterious green liquid from a nearby table. He approached each of the four unconscious agents and injected the green solution into their necks. This was the antidote to the substance that had previously put them in a coma.

When he finished, the man looked at Fury, who nodded in approval. The researcher then placed the syringe on the table and left the room. Now, only Fury, Natasha, Coulson, and Hawkeye remained. Initially, Fury planned to conduct the interrogation alone, but remembering Noah's words, he decided to keep the three agents to assist with the interrogation.

After the antidote was administered, the agents slowly began to regain consciousness. Under the influence of the drug, they were slightly disoriented, and the bright light in the room blinded their eyes. However, seeing the dark silhouette before them, they instantly snapped awake, drenched in cold sweat.

Before them stood a black man with an eye patch over his left eye – Nick Fury, the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Beside him were three well-known high-ranking agents. The first to fully regain his senses was the captain of the group. He quickly scanned the room and realized it was an interrogation room. He tried to break free, but the strong restraints on the chair prevented him from making any movement.

"Director Fury, what's going on? I'm a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent! My name is Jocelyn Judd, Level 5 agent. I was sent on a mission to XXX City. I don't know what prompted you to do this, but there must be some misunderstanding!"
