Chapter 10: Chapter Ten: The Stark Expo Gambit

(AUTHOR'S NOTE THE CHAPTER NAME IS HINT FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER)

Kaito strolled into the bustling Stark Expo, blending seamlessly with the crowd. The excitement in the air was palpable as tech enthusiasts and industry leaders marvelled at the dazzling displays. But Kaito wasn't here to admire. His eyes were sharp, scanning for opportunities.

At the center of the expo, a loud announcement drew everyone's attention. Justin Hammer, in his usual over-the-top flair, unveiled his new line of military drones. Alongside them stood James Rhodes, outfitted in a heavily weaponized version of Stark's confiscated Mark II armor.

The crowd roared, cameras flashing as Hammer revelled in the attention. But Kaito could feel the tension beneath the surface, the unease that hinted something was about to go wrong.

And then it did.

The drones, along with Rhodes' armor, suddenly powered up and turned hostile. The culprit: Whiplash, controlling them remotely. Just as chaos erupted, Tony Stark arrived in his Iron Man suit, darting into the fray to divert the drones away from the crowd.

The ensuing battle was a symphony of destruction.

Stark led the drones into the sky, where Rhodes and the Air Force Drones pursued him relentlessly. On the ground, Army and Navy Drones unleashed devastating firepower, tearing through the expo grounds.

Kaito watched the mayhem with a calculating gaze, his hands itching to act. But this wasn't his fight—at least, not yet.

As Stark destroyed the airborne drones, the battle shifted to the Oracle Dome, where he and Rhodes faced off against Whiplash's reinforcements. The two armoured allies fought back-to-back, dismantling drones with a mix of small arms fire and close combat.

In a final climactic moment, Stark unleashed his laser wrist weapon, slicing through the remaining drones in one sweeping motion.

Whiplash arrived, his electrified whips crackling with deadly intent. Rhodes fired his Ex-Wife Missile, only for it to fail spectacularly. Whiplash capitalized on the moment, using his whips to subdue both heroes.

Stark and Rhodes, beaten but not broken, devised a last-ditch plan. Firing their repulsors at each other simultaneously, they generated a massive explosion that took Whiplash down.

As the dust settled, Stark and Rhodes approached the fallen villain. Whiplash, bloodied but defiant, smirked. "You lose," he muttered, triggering the self-destruct charges on his armor and drones.

Stark's eyes widened. Realizing the danger, he bolted to save Pepper Potts, swooping her away just as the charges detonated. The two landed on a nearby rooftop, Pepper breathless but safe.

In a moment of vulnerability, she quit her position as CEO and kissed Stark, sealing their bond. Rhodes, watching from a distance, quipped, "You two look like seals fighting over a grape."

Kaito, however, wasn't watching the heart-warming scene. As Whiplash delivered his cryptic final words, Kaito activated his Mind Control, delving into the villain's thoughts to extract knowledge about the Arc Reactor technology.

Satisfied, Kaito teleported back to his apartment.

A New Path

Back home, Kaito wasted no time. He gathered his collection of stolen Jewelry, selling it discreetly for a hefty sum. With the cash in hand, he ventured into the black market, purchasing a warehouse outfitted with a blacksmith's forge and a cutting-edge science lab.

He acquired rare materials, including adamantium and vibranium, preparing to craft weapons unlike any the world had seen.

Kaito's first creation was a masterpiece:

A spearhead with a shortened handle, resembling a large dagger. A two-pronged, jitte-like blade with a q-shaped rounded hand guard that pointed out along the longer blade. A black handle with a circular link at the end, designed to connect to metal chains.

The weapon was imbued with Kaito's powers, granting it the ability of forced cancellation. Upon a direct hit, it nullified the target's abilities and powers immediately. He named it the Inverted Spear of Heaven.

Next, Kaito turned his attention to a kusari chain, crafting it from the remaining adamantium and vibranium.

The chain appeared ordinary, but Kaito gave it the ability to extend endlessly, as long as its user didn't allow either end to be seen. A clip at the front end allowed it to connect to other tools, extending their range.

The chain could function as a blunt weapon or in tandem with other tools for devastating effects.

Both creations were imbued with Kaito's energy, making them extensions of his will.

As the weapons glowed faintly in the dim light of the forge, Kaito grinned. His arsenal was growing, and with it, his ability to shape the future.

The Stark Expo had been a spectacle, but it was only the beginning. Armed with new knowledge and weapons, Kaito was ready to carve his name into the annals of history.
