MARVEL I AM DRAGON GOD

Chapter 94: Chapter 94 Cat out of the bag

The next few weeks at Beacon Academy were a whirlwind of activity.

The Vytal Festival was drawing closer, and the air buzzed with anticipation and a touch of nervous energy.

Arthur felt it too.

He spent his days in the training halls, pushing RWBY and JNPR harder than ever.

He knew the festival wasn't just a friendly competition; it was a stage, and potentially a battleground.

He focused on what he called "true magic"—the inner strength that went beyond mere physical ability or even a strong Semblance.

He taught them to understand their own limits, then to push past them, not with brute force, but with a deeper connection to their Aura.

He could see how much they had improved.

Ruby was faster, more agile, and her Semblance was more refined.

Weiss was more confident in her Glyphs, weaving them with a new kind of grace and power.

Blake was quicker, her movements more fluid, and her Semblance, meanwhile, had become almost instinctive.

Yang's punches carried more weight, and she was learning to control her temper, using it as a weapon rather than letting it control her.

One afternoon, after a particularly grueling training session, Arthur was in his office, reviewing their files.

Ozpin's cryptic warnings and Ironwood's intense focus on security like in the story.

He knew of Salem more than anyone and he could guess that Cider Fall might already know about him.

"Well, let's see what I can do."

He was super strong compared to anyone in the story but he wasn't strong enough to change everything.

That was why he focused on building team RWBY and JNPR to the point they could be helpful and not hopeless against Cinder Fall and her co.

The cafeteria at Beacon was usually a lively place, filled with the cheerful chatter of students.

But one afternoon, the usual buzz was replaced by a sudden, sharp silence, followed by gasps and whispers.

Arthur was walking by, heading to his next class, when he heard it.

He paused, his sharp senses immediately picking up on the shift in atmosphere.

He pushed open the cafeteria doors and stepped inside.

The scene that greeted him was one of shock and confusion.

In the center of the room, Blake Belladonna stood frozen, her eyes wide with a mixture of fear and betrayal.

Opposite her, Weiss Schnee stood rigid, her face a mask of anger, but beneath it, a flicker of something else—disbelief, perhaps.

A small, black bow lay on the floor near Blake's feet.

It was a familiar sight, one she always wore.

But now, without it, two distinct, feline ears twitched atop her head.

The silence in the room stretched, heavy with unspoken accusations.

Arthur's gaze swept over the other students.

Many were staring, their faces a mix of curiosity and judgment.

He saw Nora and Ren from Team JNPR looking worried, while Jaune looked utterly bewildered.

Ruby and Yang, however, were trying to get to Blake, their faces etched with concern.

"You're… you're a Faunus?"

Weiss's voice was sharp, laced with a raw edge of hurt.

"All this time? Why didn't you tell us?"

Blake flinched as if struck. Her gaze darted around the room, landing on the many faces staring at her.

The whispers began to grow louder, turning into a low hum.

It was too much.

"I… I didn't mean to…"

Blake stammered, her voice barely a whisper. Her shoulders slumped, and her cat ears drooped.

The shame and hurt in her eyes were clear.

Without another word, she turned and bolted, pushing through the stunned students and out of the cafeteria.

Ruby and Yang immediately moved to follow her, calling her name.

Weiss stood there, trembling slightly, her earlier anger melting away into something far more vulnerable.

She looked around, her eyes wide and unfocused, as if she couldn't believe what had just happened.

The weight of her words, the shock of the revelation, seemed to crash down on her.

Her gaze landed on Arthur, who had remained still, observing the scene.

Her eyes, usually so proud and composed, were now filled with a raw, desperate plea.

"Professor Arthur!" she practically cried out, her voice cracking.

She rushed toward him, her usual composure completely shattered.

"Professor, you have to help me! I… I didn't know! I swear, I didn't know she was a Faunus!"

Her hands instinctively reached out, gripping his arm, her fingers surprisingly strong despite her trembling.

Tears welled in her eyes, threatening to spill over.

"I never meant to hurt her," she pleaded, her voice choking with emotion.

"If I had known… if I had just known, I never would have said those things! I was just… I was just so angry about the White Fang, and the danger they cause. I never imagined one of my own teammates… Oh, what have I done?"

Her shoulders shook, and she buried her face in her hands, her usual icy demeanor completely gone.

She was just a girl, overwhelmed by a mistake she deeply regretted.

Arthur gently placed a hand on her shoulder.

He could feel the genuine distress radiating from her.

He had seen this kind of pain before, the pain of misunderstanding and misplaced anger.

"Weiss," he said, his voice calm and steady, cutting through her distress. "Look at me."

She slowly raised her head, her blue eyes shimmering with tears.

"It's alright," he said, his voice softer now. "Take a deep breath. We'll find Blake. But first, you need to understand something."

He paused, letting his words sink in.

"Your anger, your fear of the White Fang, it's understandable. But it blinded you, didn't it? It made you forget to see the person, not just the label."

Weiss nodded, tears streaming down her face now.

"I… I know. I feel terrible. She's my friend. I ruined everything."

"You haven't ruined anything beyond repair,"

Arthur corrected her gently.

"But this is a wound that needs healing. And the first step is for you to be truly ready to understand and apologize. Not just for what you said, but for the assumptions you made."

He looked towards the door where Blake had disappeared.

"Blake is hurt. She's likely feeling betrayed and afraid. She's been hiding a part of herself, probably out of fear of judgment, and your words just confirmed her fears."

"But I truly didn't mean it!"

Weiss insisted, her voice full of anguish.

"I just reacted. I reacted badly."

"I believe you,"

Arthur said, his gaze firm but kind.

"But intention doesn't always lessen the impact of our words. What matters now is what you do next. Do you want to fix this?"

"Yes!"

Weiss exclaimed, her voice filled with desperate sincerity.

"More than anything! I want my friend back!"

"Good,"

Arthur said.

"Then let's go find her. But remember, this isn't about forcing her to forgive you. It's about showing her that you truly care, that you value her, faunus or not."

He looked at her, seeing the raw regret and fear in her eyes.

It was a teachable moment, not just for Weiss, but for all of them.

The Vytal Festival would challenge them in many ways, but perhaps the greatest challenges would be the ones that tested their understanding of each other, and of themselves.

"Come on," he said, turning towards the door. "Let's go find Blake."

Weiss hesitated for a moment, then took a shaky breath and nodded, following him out of the cafeteria, leaving behind the hushed whispers and lingering tension.

The search for Blake, and for reconciliation, had begun.
