Marvel Cybernetic Girl

Chapter 403: 403 For You...!

The fierce battle raged on.

With both dimensional magic blades in hand, Kagura pressed forward, her relentless assault clashing violently against Hela.

Sparks scattered in every direction as their blades danced, the battlefield turning into a grand and deadly waltz.

Though Kagura couldn't inflict any real damage on Hela, her continuous strikes at least forced the Goddess of Death to stay focused on her—buying precious time and keeping her away from the unconscious Odin.

As for how to actually defeat Hela... well, that was a problem for later.

The All-Father lay unconscious, drained of strength after exhausting his divine power.

Kagura wasn't sure if she could save Odin from his destined death—even the gods had their limits, and his time in this world was nearing its end.

But if Hela killed Odin here and now, the hatred between her and Thor would be irreversible.

That grudge would drag the world toward the destruction of Ragnarök—the doomed fate of Asgard.

And when that day came, Hela would fall. Loki would perish trying to stop Thanos as Asgard burned.

And Thor... Thor would lose everything and everyone he held dear, left alone in a silent, broken world.

Even if the heroes triumphed over Thanos in the end and saved half of all life, what would that matter to Thor, who'd already endured the sorrow of Ragnarök?

For him, such a victory would be hollow—too bitter to bear.

Ragnarök wasn't just part of the Infinity War.

For Thor... it was everything.

For Hela... it was everything, too.

That's why it had to be stopped.

Hela needed to be defeated—forced to yield—so that they could finally talk, so that Asgard could be freed from this tragic destiny.

That was Kagura's mission.

The simplest, most direct way to stop Ragnarök.

Damn it...

If only Hela were a reasonable, kind older sister type!

Instead, she was an unstoppable goddess of war and death—one who didn't listen to reason, obsessed with conquest, thrones, slaughter, revenge, glory... all that nonsense.

Are you really Thor's sister? Kagura thought bitterly.

You're more like a muscle-headed insect!

Is there anyone normal in Odin's entire family?!

"Give up, little girl. You are no match for me. All this effort... it's meaningless," Hela sneered, her cold gaze looking down on Kagura. "Are you done playing yet? If so, I'll finish this now. After all, there's still that decrepit old Odin waiting to die by my hand."

"I won't let you" Kagura shot back, her voice full of stubborn fire. "Odin's your father! If you kill him, you'll doom yourself! Prince Thor and all of Asgard will hunt you down without rest—no one will escape that storm, not even you!"

"Hah! Thor? Who cares about that boy?" Hela scoffed. "I am the rightful heir to Asgard. I am its queen! Anyone who dares defy me will die—just like you're about to. The world is ruled by the strong. The weak must kneel before power!"

As she spoke, Hela's attacks suddenly surged in intensity. She was done toying with Kagura.

Waves of razor-sharp dark blades rained down like an unstoppable tsunami.

The pressure was overwhelming—far greater than anything even Dormammu had unleashed. Pure, killing intent burned in every strike.

'Tch... at this rate, I really will die...'

Kagura gritted her teeth, struggling to block the storm of blades.

Every defense was agony. Her dimensional blades shattered under the onslaught, forcing her to reshape them again and again with precious energy.

Her core energy reserves were running dangerously low.

Her "White Moon" combat suit was nearly drained.

And her QP—her last resource for deploying conceptual weapons or Infinity Stone powers—barely enough for one final gamble.

Between strikes, her mind raced, desperate for a way out.

No choice... this is it.

It was hopelessly difficult.

But this was a fight she could not afford to lose.

Kagura stood her ground, unyielding in the face of the Goddess of Death. Hela threatened the one thing Kagura refused to compromise—her vow.

I will give everyone I care about a happy ending. You included.

Even if Hela wasn't essential to defeating Thanos, she was crucial to Thor's future. Without her, Thor would be left utterly alone.

And Kagura knew that kind of loneliness far too well.

In this world... she had no real family either.

She could still hear it—that hollow, broken voice of Thor from another future, whispering, "What more do I have left to lose?"—the invincible god reduced to silent tears, like a strong but weary boy pushed past his limits.

Kagura couldn't bear to let him end up like that.

And maybe... just maybe... if she saved Hela, Loki's fate could change too.

So come, Goddess of Death. This is my final stand—my last defiance!

[QP: Zeroed]

[Reality Overwrite Activated]

[Pseudoweapon Manifestation—Divine Ruin Blade: Shuhadaku of Surtr]

As her last point of QP burned away, the crimson glow of the Reality Stone ignited, casting the world in a brilliant red radiance.

Crimson markings coiled around Kagura's body, gradually converging in her hands to form a massive, blazing red greatsword.

In the next moment, a raging inferno swept across the sky and earth, instantly dispersing the mighty storm that Hela had summoned.

"Haa—!"

The flames roared fiercely.

Beneath the vast blue sky, the silver-haired girl gripped the burning sword tightly, her steps firm and unwavering. She faced the endless barrage of shadowy blades, charging fearlessly toward the near-invincible Goddess of Death.

"Hela... I understand your hatred for Odin—the foolish way he used you as nothing more than a tool."

"Your heart is filled with bitterness, resentment... the desire for recognition. You wanted to keep fighting, to expand the great empire of Asgard and make it the most fearsome, iron-clad force in the universe."

"But people often have their own struggles... and this world isn't built on nothing but slaughter, death, and violence. War cannot last forever. A time of peace must come."

"Endless ambition and killing will only lead to self-destruction in the end!"

"That's why I'll pull you away from this path of no return!"

"Hela... I may only be a so-called princess of Asgard—I don't even know how I ended up with this title—but you are not like that!"

"You are Odin's true daughter. You are Thor's real sister. I can't stand to see a family tear itself apart like this... You don't know how it feels to have no family left in this world... how deeply lonely that is!"

A faint glimmer flickered in her golden eyes—the sign that her core energy was burning away as well.

"Hela... I'll defeat you here. No matter what, I'll give it everything I have!"

"Because I swore... I swore I'd give everyone I care about the chance at a happy ending!"

The raging fire carved a blazing path through the endless swarm of black blades.

It was like a pillar of flame piercing the heavens, forcing its way through the storm of darkness with overwhelming force—aiming straight for the deepest part of Hela's heart!

Once, in another world, there was someone worthy of respect who also wielded this very flame. She had stood bravely against gods themselves, burned everything away... and in the end, awakened the one she cherished most.

Hela... I don't dare to compare myself to that sister—the one who made countless people weep. But I want to make my own choice... here and now... within the limits of my power.

I'll set the sky ablaze... and bring you home!

"Haa—!"

A crimson tide swept across the sky and earth, painting everything in sight with searing white heat.

Hela's eyes widened as she watched the blazing sword tear through the storm of blades. In that fleeting moment, it was as if she glimpsed the terrifying vision of the world's end—Ragnarök itself.

The God-Slaying Blade: Surtr.

Its true name referred to the Fire Giant Surtr—the very being who had brought the destruction of Asgard in legend.

Normally, a pseudo-armament generated by Reality Overwrite for a mere 5 QP would never possess such overwhelming might.

There was no way it could have broken through Hela's full-powered assault without a scratch.

However... because the Fire Giant Surtr held the concept of "annihilating Norse gods," any weapon shaped by that concept became absolute when facing the Aesir, unleashing power far beyond imagination.

That was why Kagura had chosen this blade, imbued with the myth of Ragnarök, instead of her usual spirit blade—the Yuritou—which was far better suited to her.

'Whoooosh—!'

The tide of fire swelled into a tsunami, crashing outward as Kagura and Hela collided. The force of their clash surged across the land.

It was a slash without equal.

"Goddess of Death... Hela... you said before that my blade could never reach you, didn't you?"

The earth split open. Every cloud in the sky was vaporized into nothingness.

Flames roared high, consuming the entire deserted coastal region, turning it into a blazing hellscape.

"Then watch closely. This... this is a strike delivered in the name of humanity against a god!"

Burn it all away—!

'Vwooom—!'

The crimson blade gleamed with blinding heat as it shattered the wall of shadowy blades, ignoring Hela's immense divine power.

In the instant before it broke apart from the strain, the sword dug deep into Hela's body.

'Schlick—!'

Blood sprayed.

The wound tore open violently. In that instant, the Goddess of Death genuinely felt the shadow of her own demise.

And yet... Kagura's sword stopped, its blazing tip resting just before Hela's heart—no closer.

"Why? What are you trying to prove... by throwing your life away like this?"

As the flames slowly faded, Hela stared thoughtfully at Kagura, who now stood just inches away.

"I don't understand. You are so weak, Kagura. Even with the Infinity Stones, you barely know how to wield them. The gap between us is as wide as heaven and earth. So why... why do you still stand before me with such stubborn defiance?"

"Gah..." Kagura coughed up blood, agony from her pierced abdomen flooding her senses, making her vision blur.

In that final moment, as Kagura swung her sword with no defense left, Hela had seized the chance—driving her dark blade deep into the silver-haired girl's body.

Even so, the God-Slaying Blade had slashed into Hela's shoulder, leaving a deep, searing wound that continued to burn, refusing to fade.

If Kagura hadn't held back—if this had been Asgard, where Hela's infinite regeneration applied—she might have survived.

But here on Earth... without Asgard's gifts... Hela might truly have been killed by that "God-Slaying Sword" just now.

"Sister... tell me... why? Why would you risk your life like this? Challenging me so recklessly... what are you fighting for?"

"For... what...?"

Pain clouded Kagura's eyes. Her body screamed in protest.

"I'm fighting... for you..."

"...!?" Hela's eyes went wide, her breath caught in her throat. For a moment, she was utterly speechless.

"Heh..." The silver-haired girl smiled weakly.

"Death Goddess Hela... you were wrong." Kagura coughed softly, her body trembling. "My blade... did reach you... after all..."
