Chapter 400: 400 You’re an Asgardian Princess Too?
Hela.
The Goddess of Death, Odin's eldest daughter, Thor's sister, and the undisputed princess of Asgard.
She was once Asgard's mightiest warrior—an unparalleled general of the ancient Asgardian Empire.
Back then, wielding Mjölnir itself, Hela marched alongside Odin to conquer the Nine Realms, laying the foundation for Asgard's vast dominion and spreading the name of the Aesir gods to the farthest corners of the cosmos.
But when Asgard's territory grew too vast, the All-Father Odin realized that endless war would only drag the universe into chaos.
He decided that Asgard, as conqueror, should also learn to rule with dignity and restraint.
And so, overnight, Odin abandoned his path of violent expansion and became a wise and peaceful king.
He opened diplomatic ties with the Vanir, the Frost Giants, and other civilizations across the Nine Realms.
Under his new rule, the universe ushered in a golden age of peace lasting thousands of years.
But peace always comes at a price.
Hela, who had shed blood and sweat for Asgard's empire, refused to accept this change.
She longed to continue her conquests, to see Asgard's banner raised over even more worlds.
Negotiations broke down.
And so Odin sealed his own daughter away in a hellish dimension, locking her behind a portal guarded by his divine power.
Her loyal warriors were imprisoned deep beneath the great halls of Asgard itself.
This was why Hela's heart burned with hatred for Odin.
Her own father—the one who had once entrusted her with the future of their empire—had personally cast her into an eternal prison in another world, never to see the light of day for thousands of years... simply because she wanted to fight for him.
In Odin's eyes, Hela's ambition had grown far beyond his own.
The power she wielded as the Goddess of Death would one day consume not only Asgard but the entire Nine Realms in flame.
Perhaps, in the moment he sealed her away, Odin already foresaw Ragnarok.
A burning Asgardian palace… Hela standing proudly amid the flames… the great wolf Fenrir howling atop the Bifröst… and Surtur, the fire giant as tall as a mountain, driving his flaming sword deep into the realm of the gods.
Asgard itself, reduced to cosmic dust in an endless sea of fire.
To stop this vision from coming true, Odin had locked Hela away.
Yet he didn't realize that in doing so, he had set Ragnarok's wheels in motion.

Norwegian Coastline
The storm raged without end—thunder and lightning tearing across the sky—as Odin and Hela, these two nearly invincible gods, clashed with all their might.
The heavens and earth seemed ready to split apart under their power.
Just as Hela's black blade was about to pierce Odin's chest, a flash of lightning cracked down from the heavens—and a silver-haired girl suddenly appeared, stepping between the doomed All-Father and his daughter.
"Asgard's… princess?"
Hela's eye twitched, and then—
"O-Odin! You filthy old pervert!" she snapped. "You had another daughter?! Just how desperate were you to find my replacement? You really would stoop to anything!"
Cough, cough! "No, you've got it wrong! She's adopted!"
Kagura declared proudly, standing tall. "So you're misunderstanding things here, big sister… Hela!"
Hela scowled, waving her hand dismissively. "Who are you calling big sister, brat? Don't try to get chummy with me! Step aside—now! Out of respect for your ignorance of Asgard's past, I'll spare your life if you obey!"
Kagura scratched her head with a sheepish smile. "Aah… but I can't do that, you see. Odin's my foster father. I can't just stand here and watch him get killed. Besides… he's your father too, isn't he…?"
"You don't need to remind me of that!"
Hela's fury showed no signs of fading.
"Exactly because Odin is my father, I'll kill him with my own hands—in the cruelest, most agonizing way possible! You have no idea what your precious foster father did to me!"
"But weren't you sealed away because of your uncontrollable, ever-growing ambition?"
Kagura's golden eyes darkened slightly as her expression turned serious.
"Sister... your heart knows nothing but conquest and slaughter."
"You bring war and death to every world you touch, never once looking back at the shattered ruins you leave behind... nor caring for what becomes of those worlds after. Maybe that's why the All-Father Odin locked you away."
Hela scoffed.
"What do you know? That's what Asgard once stood for! That's what the great Asgardian Empire was meant to be! Our duty is to conquer... to claim every star, every speck of space for the glory of the Empire!"
There wasn't the slightest hint of regret in her voice for the countless worlds she'd destroyed.
"The weak have no right to exist in this universe. Only the strong deserve to rule!"
As she spoke, Hela's power surged again, crushing what little divine strength Odin had left beneath her overwhelming might.
The raging storm surrounding them was now completely under her control.
The power of this Goddess of Death was terrifying—so much so that even Thor himself might not be able to defeat her if he were here.
"Hey, little girl... what's your name again?"
With a sneer, Hela raised her blade and pointed its dark tip at Kagura's chest.
"Whether I like it or not, you are technically my little sister now. The least I can do is remember your name."
"My name is Kagura Hitomi."
As she spoke, Kagura activated her White Moon battle suit, shifting it into combat mode and forming a powerful energy shield around her.
The White Moon suit no longer needed to take the form of a bulky bodysuit for protection—it now projected a far more efficient, integrated energy barrier.
So even when fully transformed for battle, Kagura's outfit remained a light, form-fitting dress—much more comfortable than the previous restrictive suit.
"Kagura Hitomi... not a bad name," Hela mused, dark power gathering in the blade of her sword.
"I'll give you one last chance, Kagura. Step aside, do as I say, and I'll spare your life."
"Sorry but no can do" Kagura shot back without hesitation.
"You should know—Asgard's problems aren't the only thing at stake here. After Ragnarok, half the life in the universe will be wiped out… reduced to nothing but ash in the near future!"
Her voice grew firm and passionate.
"That future is one of unimaginable sorrow. All the gods of Asgard will fall. Thor will lose nearly everyone he cares about—including you. I refuse to accept that kind of ending!"
"Which is why... Asgard, one of the strongest powers in the universe, must not fall! The gods must not perish! And I definitely can't let you return to Asgard to lead it down a path of destruction!"
With a metallic snap, vibranium blades automatically assembled, sliding into her hands with a crisp shing!
"So I'm sorry, sister... but I'll have to defeat you here!"
Hela's goal was painfully clear.
She wanted to return to Asgard, reclaim the throne of the gods, and lead Asgard's armies once again to conquer the worlds beyond—"To let Asgard's glory echo through the cosmos once more."
But if she did that...
She would face the rebellion of Thor, Loki, and even the people of Asgard themselves.
The age of tyrants and terror was long over. If Hela ruled by force, her throne would crumble beneath the fires of war.
And in the end, the prophecy of Ragnarok would come to pass.
Surtur, the fire giant, would destroy Asgard and Hela along with it. The once-mighty realm of the gods would vanish from the universe forever.
The fall of the gods...
And with them, the last power capable of standing against Thanos.
Without Asgard's protection, Loki would die under Thanos's assault.
Thor... would be left utterly alone, weeping aboard the Guardians' ship with nothing left but bitter memories and Rocket Raccoon to comfort him.
The last god... left in unbearable solitude.
How tragic.
Kagura knew this future all too well.
If she wanted to change that fate, the best path was to make Hela an ally... or at least stop her madness and prevent the destruction of Asgard.
To give everyone—a future with a happy ending.
Her deepest wish included Thor's fate, too.
And so...
The clash between Kagura and Hela became inevitable!
