Chapter 71: Defeat Diablo, and Moreina

"Who are you?"

Moreina, with the experience she has acquired over time in combat, immediately retreated upon noticing the attack.

"Sister Moreina, Elder Sister Akara sent me to support you, I will take care of this sword and shield guy, hold Diablo for a moment"

Christel answered Moreina's question, while firing more blue arrows condensed from mana towards the knight's shadow, who blocked the incoming arrows with his shield.

Moreina didn't have time to ask more, Diablo had approached to attack her with his claws, in an attempt to pierce her and impale her.

As an expert Rogue, she used her weapons to block and use force to keep herself at a distance from Diablo's physical attack. As a Rogue, she was not made for head-on melee combat, but rather for attacking from the sides and behind the enemy. Aidan was the one in charge of drawing AGGRO and sustaining the fight.

But now, these fellow soldiers, with whom she entered the cathedral, suspecting something dark, have turned against her.

With sadness and anger, she has remained in combat against Diablo and her former teammates, for who knows how long. Moreina feels like she has spent an eternity in a bloody fight, where she can only defend herself and flee.

Even though this little girl, who doesn't even reach her chest, managed to make an attack that broke Jazreth's shield, she knows that it is of no use. She herself has managed to deal killing blows to the mage and the knight, but somehow, they get back up. She knows very well that it is the monster that must be defeated.

But when she hears Akara's name, Moreina knows that she has somehow discovered what was going on here in Tristan Village, and has sent help from the Monastery that guards the Eastern Gate and is home to her Sisters.

Although she doesn't know how she found out, it's good that she found out, and even though she's far away, this girl's arrival is the announcement that the Rogues are on their way. They may be cleaning up the floors above, so it's only a matter of time before Akara's group arrives. By then, defeating Diablo will be a piece of cake.

"Little girl, who is coming with you? Did Akara herself come? No, she can't come, she has to stay and protect the Monastery. Then Kashya is coming, if Kashya is coming, then Lakrii must come, maybe Charsi?"

As Moreina kited Diablo, she asked Christel a series of questions and thoughts. Somehow, she felt her power recover, her fatigue disappear, and she could fight another three hundred rounds. The happiness of knowing that her sisters were coming lifted her spirits.

But.

"Sister Moreina, it's just me..." 'Moreina doesn't know that years have passed, she still thinks that it's the moment when she entered the Tristan Cathedral to investigate and fight Diablo, I don't know how she will react when she finds out that her daughter is almost 17 years old...'

In a world where war is all around you, and you don't live in a peaceful society, but in a place steeped in darkness. When a girl reaches 16, she is already considered an adult. Jaina, who is only 14, has already been recognized as a warrior, much less 16-year-old Alysha.

There is not much difference between this world and the ninja world next door. Children as young as 12 have to go to war to fight for their country, even Kakashi, who already had blood on his hands by the age of 6.

Moreina paused for a while, as the happiness of knowing that support was coming vanished with a gust of wind. The support sent by Akara is just this little girl?

But a pair of mana-condensed arrows arrived and hit Diablo's claws and body. Moreina took advantage of this moment to get away again.

"Sister Moreina, don't get distracted..."

"Little girl! What is Akara thinking? Why don't I send more people and just send you? Is there something bad going on outside that she can't come?"

After recovering, Moreina returned to focusing on her fight against Diablo, but still asked in bewilderment at the news.

Fireballs appeared from one place, Christel noticed that the shadow of the man with the mage profession appeared again. She knows that this is not the original Jazreth, they are just illusions in Moreina's spiritual sea.

Defeating these shadows, Diablo included, won't solve anything. But defeating them must be part of the way to solve this. Andariel's shadow must be somewhere, and he has to make her come out and show herself.

This Moreina is only a part of the real Moreina, and to wake her up, she has to let her know what has happened, and what she has done. Christel has to shake up her inner world, so that she can make amends.

Since they are just shadows, the actual strength is very low, Christel can hold off Aidan and Jazreth, piercing the mage again with a series of quick arrows. If they were the real ones, it would be very difficult to defeat them with their current level.

Defeating the Corrupted Moreina was actually cheating, but in a real fight, there's no telling how long Christel would last in Blood Raven's hands.

"Sister Moreina, don't underestimate me. I'm stronger than you think. And a lot has happened in these years up on the surface. So much so that your daughter is going to turn 17 this year!"

"...He? Daughter? These years?..." Moreina was stunned for a moment. Then, a series of flash memories appeared in her mind, and her eyes darkened for a moment.

A roar rose from beneath the ground, and a tremor shook the entire hellish level 16. Diablo somehow failed to attack Moreina and turned around to launch a series of fireballs towards Christel, while the shadow of Knight Aidan raised his sword and made a sort of charge to strike the girl, a skill he had not used.

Christel, in this place, cannot use elemental magic, neither druid nor of any kind. This is not the real world, but what she could do was condense things with mana, so she created a Hexagonal-shaped shield like crystal, which withstood the impact of Aidan's charge.

And the bursts of fireballs came after the shadow knight's charge, but they were easier to dodge.

"Wow~ it seems my mouth was more useful than a taunt, I filled up the threat bar in an instant..."

After moving away from Aidan and firing blue mana arrows again, he made the knight return to the defense position and once again destroyed the newly condensed mage shadow. The tremor calmed down.

Diablo growled, and attacked Moreina again, who had woken up and returned to the fight, but her eyes were already noticeably different.

"Girl! What's going on?....Who are you?"

"I arrived at the Rogue Camp about 3 months ago… I met Alysha and her group when they were exploring a cave filled with demons…"

"Alysha?"

"Mm! Kashya's daughter, it seems that she was named after Akara, but it has nothing to do with Moreina's name..."

Christel had to awaken Blood Raven's soul, this part of her soul, deep within her spiritual sea, has remained distant from reality, but she has to gather her whole being again. And she will have to face the fact of what she has done all these years.

It may seem cruel, but there is no other way, besides, it's not like Moreina is a weak woman. She went head to head against Diablo, one of the most terrifying and monstrous beings in the world of Sanctuary. And here, she has been fighting against her shadow, proving that she hasn't completely fallen yet.

"Alysha?"

"Mm! She looks a lot like you, but she is still stubborn and acts like a rebellious child..."

The tremors were growing more intense, almost like an earthquake. Stone and fire stalactites were falling all over the place, and fissures were opening up in the ground, spewing fire and lava.

"Ugh! AHH!" Moreina suddenly dropped her weapons and held her head with her hands.

The shadows and Diablo seemed to have a glitch in their programming, they froze for a moment and then began to act erratically.

Christel took advantage of what seemed to be a mental shock to attack Diablo. Christel remembers that Aidan placed the Diablo gem on her forehead, which ended her transformation and Diablo took full control of her body and consumed her soul.

On the forehead of this Devil, there are 5 horns, two pairs on the sides, and one central one. Using the Amazons' ultimate skill in bows and crossbows: Bombardment, Christel fired a series of arrows as if it were a machine gun.

The impact of the arrows managed to break Diablo's central horn, causing him to let out a huge growl.

Moreina woke up upon hearing Diablo's loud growl. She noticed that Diablo was acting as if he had been deeply hurt.

"Did you hurt him?"

Moreina has been fighting, for who knows how long, but, despite managing to significantly injure Aidan and Jazreth, she had never managed to leave a wound on Diablo's body.

"Mm! It's not difficult, when what holds it, receives mental blows..."

Christel looked Moreina in the eye, but also kept her attention on the surroundings. Beyond the fire and lava around her, there is a deep darkness.

Mainly why.

"'My little one, I've been waiting for you... Why haven't you come to see me yet...'"

Whispers have been heard in Christel's mind. She knows Andariel has already noticed her since she fired the first shot.

It's just that Christel's mental defense is very strong. But despite that, she has to be very focused and not get lost in the voice.

'This is just an avatar of Andariel. Receiving her spiritual attack from the anthology will definitely be very different.'

"But…" Flashes of memories still appear in Moreina's mind. Fragments of memories that she can't make any sense of.

Moreina is no fool, this girl's lines and why Akara would only send her, a little girl, and not a group of Rogues to support her. No matter what's going on outside, at least one team should go down to help and stop Diablo's resurgence.

Placing a hand on her chest as she watches Diablo crumble and the girl finish off Knight Aidan, Moreina feels like there's something missing.

The blackness in his eyes is slowly expanding, just as the darkness around him is getting closer.

Christel knows she needs a push. All the bad things Blood Raven has done in the past few years are flashing through her memory. But aside from helping Andariel evict the Rogue tenants, she doesn't seem to have killed anyone.

'Maybe I don't need to make a big deal to reunite the inner Moreina with the outer one. Just, attack her directly?'

Concentrating her memories, creating false images of Blood Raven attacking and killing the Rogues, Christel condensed a golden arrow. The Raven's Wing bow seemed to darken and deteriorate. But that didn't stop Christel from pulling the bowstring and aiming at Moreina.

"Girl... What are you doing?"

"Big Sister Moreina, Big Sister Akara didn't send me to help you fight Diablo… but to kill you."

"Me? Yes. Me. I also transformed like Prince Aidan and Master Summoner Jazreth, right..." In Moreina's eyes, only a white part remained, the darkness only needs a little to envelop her.

"Just give up, Big Sister…" Christel gently released the taut bowstring. For some reason, she felt a pin pierced her heart. The golden arrow traveled at a high speed as she wondered, 'Is a human born pure and life corrupts it, or is it fate that causes life to be corrupted under its guidance…'

Christel's eyes changed, her pupils transformed into a flower with nine pink petals.
