Chapter 68: Spiritual Detective Interrupted (?)

....

...

The first Monday in August was the day when most students in the land of Neon returned to school.

Usagi, who was heading to class with sleepy eyes, hardly thought much about the previous events against Nephrite. She cared even less about the news. But she did pay close attention to the amulet that Christel had given her and with which she rolled into bed smiling until she fell asleep.

For Usagi, the amulet releasing a shield and expelling Nephrite, giving her the opportunity to attack and deeply hurting Nephrite with a combo, was because of love.

On the school day, after passing the sleepy stage and being active again as usual, she also went through the interrogation series of her four friends and classmates. But she, with just a smile, said that it was because of the power of love that she managed to release all her power and thus defeat Nephrite with a crushing victory.

After a series of boastful phrases and actions towards her friends, where she showed them the cat-shaped amulet, the girls thought that if she also had a Christel amulet and they were in the same situation, wouldn't they also awaken their maximum power?

But, the one who has been silent all day since yesterday, is Luna. She knows very well that not everything is as Usagi claims. She believes that it is likely that, if the other Sailor Scouts were at the scene, they would also notice the strange situation.

It's obvious that the amulet is real and that the bubble energy that protected Usagi came from the amulet. Especially since she felt it herself, and it's not Usagi's energy as Sailor Moon, but a very different one, but it definitely had Christel's breath.

Luna is becoming more and more convinced that Christel is the reincarnation of Queen Serenity. Especially since that bubble-shaped protection field spell was a very common magical ability used by the Queen.

But I also wonder, who was the girl with pink hair and green eyes that appeared?

He had the ability to control plants, and was the one who actively supported Usagi with auxiliary control abilities, and although Tuxedo Mask arrived later, he was more like a worker who only came to swipe a card, show up, and then leave without doing a single job.

Luna has concerns in this world. It's not like the aqua blue planet ten thousand years ago, it seems that many species have appeared and there are many powerful factions now. But at least that pink-haired plant-controlling girl isn't an enemy.

....

North of Tokyo, less than 15 minutes by train, in the city of Sarayashiki, a young man and a girl with brown hair were walking in the sunset, although the young man is wearing a full outfit of green clothes, the girl is wearing the typical sky blue female sailor school uniform.

"Yusuke, you heard the rumors, it seems that some demons attacked a tennis tournament in Tokyo, that's very close."

"Keiko, don't believe that gossip, the officials said it was a terrorist attack… You can't go around believing in that kind of thing. Demons and ghosts don't exist."

"Mm"

Keiko Yukimura just nodded and raised her right hand, where a red thread of pain was wrapped around her wrist and a white cat-shaped amulet with a sun on its forehead hung. This was a gift she received from the girl she met on the school trip to Kyoto. She sent it to her by mail and told her that it would protect her from anything and everything evil.

Keiko is not like her childhood friend Yusuke, because she remembers events that have no explanation when she was a child. And although she has grown up in a modern education that has given her an ideological upbringing of: only believing in science and not in mysticism, inside herself, she knows that there are things inexplicable by science in the world.

Especially with what had just happened moments before. Keiko looked over her shoulder and there stood a girl in a pink kimono, sky blue hair with hints of turquoise and blue eyes.

But the important thing is not its physical appearance, but that it is floating!

That's right, this strange floating girl has been following her since before noon. And even though she seems to be talking to her, she can't hear her. She started seeing her after an accident that happened when a child was about to be hit by a car.

As the first day of school, after summer vacation, Keiko arrived early at Yusuke's house to wake him up and urge him to go to class. In this, the last school year for his generation of Junior high school students, Yusuke has become increasingly lazy and she has even seen him smoking and drinking alcohol, although he has skipped classes for years, now he does it more often and drinks and smokes!

Keiko doesn't know what she can do to help her childhood friend Yusuke get back on track. But today, on Christel's advice, she came to Yusuke's house to make sure he goes to class so he doesn't miss school.

So, after being greeted by Aunt Atsuko Urameshi, Yusuke's mother, she went upstairs to wake him up and get him to school. Atsuko wholeheartedly thanked Keiko, and scolded Yusuke for not being grateful to have such a good friend, who worries about him all the time.

After bidding farewell to Aunt Atsuko, Keiko followed Yusuke to school. With a happy attitude, she clenched her fist and swore that she would turn her friend into a good boy. If Yusuke knew what Keiko, this childhood friend, was thinking, his face would turn black from wanting to give him a "Good Boy" card.

Everything was going well, they arrived at school and entered the building of the third grade classes of junior high school level. And although they had to separate for a moment, Keiko did not think that Yusuke would suddenly run away. But to her surprise, he did.

When the teacher in charge of her school group arrived, and Yusuke was not there when his name was mentioned by the teacher when looking at the attendance, Keiko became sad.

Since she is the class representative and a well-known friend of Yusuke, the teacher asked her for Yusuke's home address. The teacher plans to make a home visit to Yusuke's parents and announce his record of school absences and the possibility of repeating the year for skipping classes.

Keiko can't turn down her teacher. She is known for being a very responsible and dedicated student. This is reflected in her organized nature and her ability to care for and guide her classmates, including Yusuke.

Although Keiko is now angry at Yusuke for running away, she feels worried. Hours later the teacher came back and she asked him about classmate Yusuke.

Takanaka only replied that he didn't find Yusuke at home, but he did speak to Yusuke's mother. He is a teacher who is concerned about the well-being of his students and is especially interested in helping Yusuke improve his behavior and academic performance. And Keiko feels that she is not alone in her quest to get Yusuke on the right path.

Although Keiko is a responsible student who doesn't break the rules, she has been emailing Christel for advice and comfort right now. She also emailed Aunt Atsuko apologizing for not stopping Yusuke from skipping class.

Atsuko told her that she didn't have to feel responsible or apologize. That as a mother, she should be in charge of his upbringing, and that she should educate Yusuke well when she finds him.

Even with Aunt Atsuko and Christel's words, Keiko hasn't reduced her concern. So, remembering Christel's words, a student didn't live out a hundred percent of his education if she never missed class, so after the midday class, she left school to find Yusuke.

Although Christel gave her a thumbs up, she told her that it's not worth it yet since she's doing it, not for the right reasons to skip school. With a smile, Keiko felt good talking to Christel.

But, distracted by the email on Christel's cell phone, she didn't notice that Yusuke found her first and decided to hide and escape. A child was also passing by at that moment.

Christel doesn't know that her emails have changed her fate. When Keiko looked up, she didn't see the escaped Yusuke, but a child crossing the street to get a soccer ball, and a car approaching at high speed.

Keiko has never felt like a brave person. Although the world sees her as having a sweet and calm personality, only Yusuke knows about her bad temper and her angry moments.

So, almost without thinking, Keiko ran and threw herself to push the child out of danger, without thinking that she herself would be hit by the car.

Only when she pushed the child away and saw herself in the air and about to be run over, did she know what she had done and she closed her eyes in despair, waiting for the impending pain she would feel.

But to her surprise, it wasn't pain she felt, but a loud banging noise. When she opened her eyes, she found herself enveloped in a bubble of warm golden light. Turning to her side, she saw the car hitting the bubble covering her, and the front of the car looked as if it had crashed into a solid wall.

Somehow she was floating and she noticed how on his chest, where she had placed his cell phone by muscle memory, she could see how the figure of the white cat actually glowed. When she wanted to come down, she just stopped floating gently and stood calmly on his two legs.

"Amazing. How did you do that, you're just a human, where did you get the power to create a force field?"

A chattering sound was heard in his ear at this moment, that was when she met a girl, with a pink kimono, aqua blue hair with hints of turquoise and blue eyes.

But after watching her for a second, she remembered the boy and ran to check on him. When she picked him up, since he had fallen because of his push, he didn't seem to have hurt himself or scraped his skin a bit. Even with the ball in his hand, the boy didn't know what had happened.

Keiko breathed a sigh of relief. But she remembered the car, the crash, and the golden bubble that saved her, and she didn't know what to do.

"Just run away..."

That was the last thing she heard from the floating girl. Reacting, she could only run with the boy by the hand towards the side where he came from, and then she took him to his house where his mother hugged him.

Afterwards she just said goodbye and left. Moments later, she found Yusuke in a park with a cigarette. Angry, she started scolding and fighting with him for skipping class and making her mother worry and teacher Takanaka have to make a house visit.

But inside, she was still thinking about the event, holding her cell phone in her hand without letting go, looking at the white rabbit and the girl who was floating behind her.

Christel also noticed that her protective amulet had been activated, although she did not know what had happened to Keiko, she knows that her history has encounters with ghost monsters and demons, so, without thinking, she sent more spiritual energy and her mysterious natural energy.

Since he was in class at the time, and there was no golem nearby, he couldn't help directly, other than providing energy. But he closed his eyes and wanted to see, with the cat's eyes, but all he could see was a collarbone, a slender neck, some soft white mountains, and a cliff.

Almost instantly him fire ignited, causing Momo and Nana to smell Christel's natural scent.

But what Christel doesn't know is that she indirectly stood in the way of the birth of the spiritual detective Yusuke.
