Making myself important: Making myself the protagonist's favorite

Chapter 5: .Incident.

Body stealer? You umm must be very mistaken, I daresay.

Whatever was inside Beo's head, it didn't respond to the comment when the panel suddenly turned a violent purple.

It turned in a slow circle, inspecting.

Then as it faced him, its message was a new one.

Well, rules. First, you have to interfere with the story Beo Bro. That's why I'm here for. Second, do not interact with me. Third, don't tell anyone about me, or you die die. Last... Yeah yea you have to find the protagonist blah blah then you dead then you gone forever.

"So you agree it's cliche?"

Yes -

Are you saying that I'm the cliche? No it's spelled cliché.. I think.. um. How to pronounce that. Ok i don't care your already late and STOP TALKIN TO M-

*****

Getting flung wasn't the best, but it'll do. There's one major flaw, this must be embarrassing, Beo landed on some random woman that was sitting down after a shock.

No, it's not embarrassing, it's life-threatening for the woman and it's back-breaking for Beo. That isn't the same, save the young man- woman first.

*

Shock made everyone freeze when Beo first landed on the woman and her horrified scream was cut off, but some recovered only after moments and they started to swarm the scene.

"AH GET OFF!" a person who came running up to them said, pushing at Beo. "YOU MAY KILL HER!"

Even with that comment of the potential of accidental 'killing,' Beo didn't think he would anytime soon. The pain in his back was too much, it even seemed as though he landed on a street, with sharp rocks laying around and the height of the fall was 30 feet up. That was not a person.

"BUT I'M HURT!" he yelled as the persistent woman continued to push him off.

It didn't seem like she cared at all, because the woman still hasn't given up.

Understandable, but if she were Beo, she'll feel his spine and bones breaking. That might be a huge overreaction, that's what anyone would say, but he doesn't think that it'll be a overreaction sight the fall his just committed.

"YOUR ON TOP OF HER, YOUR HURTING HER BY YOUR SEER WEIGHT! DO YOU NOT CARE!?" Another person, a small boy with noticeable ginger hair, started crying, and screamed.

WHATT? AND HE HAS A SAY IN THIS?? WHY DOES HE HAVE TO BE SO DISRESPECTFUL ABOUT IT TOO THOUGH? "SEER WEIGHT?."

"I- ARGHH- WAIT MY BACK!!"

Smacking away the hands that were digging into his arm and back, Beo carefully turned so that his face met with cinnamon colored hair, then got off of the person he landed on, who which, already, looked like she got crushed by a herd of panicked bulls.

"My bad, woman, but it wasn't my fault," Beo immediately said before anyone could accuse. "BUT YOU ALSO WOULDN'T GIVE ME A CHANCE! I WAS GETTING OFF, I DIDNT HAVE ANY INTENTION TO LAY ON YOU ALL DAY!"

The boy with ginger hair looked furious, as if he didn't believe a thing Beo just said.

"B-but.. but you came from over there, from that building, and you came shooting down from there right at mama! Mama Milo was hurt because of your recklessness!"

'Mama Milo?' Is this his parent?!! His.. um, mother? Ok if I never believed in that then I really thought humans came from the sky, Beo couldn't imagine when he was Summit that humans had parents, and even when he met Mimi and thought she was Beo's parent, it was still so disbelieving to him that he didn't even linger on the thought.

Well, looks like "Mama Milo" is angry at Beo too. Wasn't his fault that he fell from the sky, and he knows that the panel clearly said to not talk about it, so that wasn't something he could do.

Milo stood up, her long cinnamon-colored hair messy along her back, and huge breaths were her only response to anything.

He did appreciate her for not being boring though, and not brushing it off and being that one unrealistic side character that's the protagonist's lackey after they say "Interesting" as if they didn't just get jumped by one unnaturally overpowered villain that will soon be defeated by the protagonist and actually flew 40ft away just to get up and look completely fine.

She looked winded, her fists were clenched, and she refused any help from anybody. Wow, she's realistic.. ok.

"Why'd you do that for!?" she yelled as Beo rubbed his back, forgetting it was even hurting. That wasn't realistic, he was just admiring an actual character being good at being human. This is a book after all, right?

"I already said my bad! I didn't even see you, nor it was my intention to land on you!" Beo yelled back. Milo looked disbelieving as she still caught her breath. "It was against my will! I wasn't the one who-"

"LIES!"

"HOW ARE THEY LIES? MY TRUTHS ARE MY LIES? HAVEN'T YOU SEEN WHERE WE ARE YET? NOW I'M EVIL?"

"BUT-"

There was no 'buts' in some other person's interest, because a girl waved her hand and raised her voice over the agruement.

"Guys! Guys! We have to keep peace between one another!" She said, now waving both arms and started to walk towards the attraction. "We are in a strange place now, so it's better to survive than.. than getting killed, right??"

Her question really put some into a thinking phase, but Beo had no idea what she was trying to say.

Well, he thinks he does, but the fact that the beginning of the book even the protagonist got some special treatment, he didn't know what the basic panels looked like.

So that means that the Hour of the Night must've not completely say what the others said, which means disaster.

How do I ask someone who doesn't want to talk to me? 1, I just still talk? 2, irritate it? 3, whatever, I dont do anything?

Since the main character was just somehow overpowered and favored in the beginning by the writer who is just too slow to process a good story by the minimum.. yea, good for him, Beo now thinks that the book might not be as reliable than he thought. Thank you, author.

Then how do I try to-

"So everyone remembers what the panels said? I seemed to think we should do it now," the girl was now visible to Beo as she stood right between Milo and him.

She looked like her hair was red, or was it a illusion? Well she did have a thick white coat with fur lining the outsides, brown boots that made annoying sounds, and dark green eyes.

"What's your name?"

"Ah, I'm Lina. I'm from Canada."

Whats "Canada?"

"Canada?" Milo, who was silent, finally spoke up. "That cold place? Explains why you have a coat on, but it's hot."

"Canada's a place?" Beo asked unintentionally.

"'Canada's a place?' Have you never, ever heard of Canada?" The boy who was crying earlier seem to take everything Beo said as a joke now. Which is incredibly disrespectful, as someone who came from a ancient clan.

"Wait, wait, let's not argue anymore. Let's follow what the panels says if we want to live! It said to go to a huge building, right? And I think it meant there," Lina pointed towards a building just some ft away from them, which Beo never even noticed.

Wait have I seen where I am at? It might even be different from the book! Looking around, he was glad that it was the same place as he remembered.

The air was full of golden dust and particles as the place is supposed to mimic a abandoned city after a sandstorm. Broken 'glass' was scattered on the now covered road and glinted when one's eye lands on it. Other than the sun shining down to the land, buildings lined the edge of the road.

The place Lina was talking about was a large building that seemed to outmatch the others supposedly bigger than it, with vines and wild plants crowding the dirt.

Cracks were visible everywhere on the walls, it's shadows exposing nothing.

Red brick stood out and its dirty white paint peeled itself from off the bricks, so now it looks like random white sparks were plastered everywhere.

Wha oh, Beo thought as soon as he laid eyes upon the place that looks haunted.
