Magus Supremacy

Chapter 392: Defeat a stage 6 warrior!

"Yami Cromwell!" the captain shouted, shaking his head in disappointment. "You shouldn't have done that. Clearly, these guys are no match for you!" he added, bolting straight at Yami with a scowl on his face.

In response, Yami bolted forward as well, and in the next instant…

Boom!

A thunderous boom rang out in the house, causing the walls to creak under the pressure as both forces clashed with raw vigor. This wasn't a battle of weapon mastery or refined swordsmanship—no, neither of the two men wielded weapons.

This was a pure, primal battle of Ki between two seasoned, middle-aged warriors. Each strike they delivered carried a force that threatened to tear the house apart.

"Ahh!" Yami roared, pushing off from his position as he launched forward with his fist clenched and aimed straight for the captain's chest.

But in a swift counter, the captain caught Yami's fist with both palms, though not without skidding backward a few inches. A sharp bang echoed through the room as the clash created a gust of air.

"Strong. Beautifully strong," the captain said with a smirk, gripping Yami's fist tightly without budging an inch. "Even using just the first stage of Ki, you're devastatingly good."

"You really shouldn't have barged into my home," Yami growled. "Because you don't know who you're dealing with."

With those words, he bent his knees and pushed off with explosive strength. Though his fists were still caught in the captain's grasp, Yami leapt into the air and twisted his hips sharply.

His foot swung around in a fierce arc, smashing into the captain's face and forcing the man to release his grip while skidding back from the force of the blow.

Boom!

Yami wasted no time. As soon as his feet touched the ground, he erupted forward again like a bolt of lightning, becoming a blur as he charged at the captain.

He threw another powerful punch, but the captain was ready. With precise timing, he pivoted to the side, narrowly avoiding the punch that smashed into the air and caused another loud bang.

"You landed a hit on me," the captain muttered with a fierce grin. "It's only fair I do the same."

He swirled his Ki to his legs, granting himself a burst of explosive speed, and darted toward Yami. With a swift movement, he delivered a brutal uppercut to Yami's chin, sending the man skidding backward by a full meter.

"You want to protect a kid you don't even know that well? He's a terrorist!" the captain roared, his expression twisted with anger.

"Allegedly," Yami snapped, his voice like steel as his gaze hardened. "Where's the proof that he's part of the Red Brigade?"

"Isn't his red hair proof enough?" the captain asked, arching an eyebrow with mocking amusement.

"Oh, so you're going to start arresting everyone with red hair now?" Yami shouted in disbelief, facepalming himself with visible frustration. "You all need to grow up. Seriously."

"We should grow up?" the captain repeated, chuckling coldly. He then took a stance, his muscles tensing and calves bulging slightly as he stared down Yami with unwavering focus.

"Maybe it's you who needs to grow up!"

Bang!

The captain exploded from his position, zipping toward Yami with tremendous speed. Every step left cracks on the floor as he closed the gap in a heartbeat.

Yami simply sighed, shaking his head. "I tried to reason with you," he muttered, adjusting his stance. His feet were now shoulder-width apart, his arms raised, palms almost touching in a clapping motion—but not quite.

"I'll teach you not to mess with the Midnight Sun Clan!" the captain shouted, leaping into the air and descending toward Yami with his leg raised high for an axe kick.

"And you should learn not to mess with the Cromwell family," Yami said coldly.

With perfect timing, he pivoted to the side, allowing the captain's heel to crash violently into the ground. The impact cracked the floor and formed a deep crater, sending dust and debris flying into the air.

"Don't ever come close to my family again!" Yami warned as he thrust his palm in one burst of speed slamming it straight into the Captain's gut.

Time froze, the Captain's eyes widened, the air thickened as Yami's face was hardened without any sign of a readable expression. His palm still laid on the captain's abdomen for a few more seconds and then…

Boom!

Bang!

A shockwave rippled out as the captain felt an immense amount of energy slam into his guts causing him to spit out a mouthful of blood, his body got hurled into a wall which he brought down with his weight.

The ground where the duo stood earlier was now totally destroyed as dust got kicked up fluttering Yami's hair a little as he stared at where he had sent the captain flying.

"Kek, Kek, Kek!" The captain laughed as he lay on the ground, his face facing the ceiling while he chuckled loudly, blood dripping down his mouth with his body and most especially abdomen hurting like crazy.

"Yami… oh my dear Yami! I thought you knew the Midnight Sun Clan." The captain chuckled as he slowly rose up causing Yami to immediately be on guard.

"You should know," The captain said as he causally wiped the blood on his shirt off. He quickly grabbed his bandana and ripped it off while still grinning at the stunned Yami.

"Something as simple as that strike you did earlier wouldn't take a captain down. Now would it?"

"Huh?" Yami muttered as he stared at the rumbling captain.

"You know the stages of being a Yun warrior already, but you don't know that the higher you ascend in the midnight sun ranks, the stronger a warrior gets.

So let me educate you for free." The captain smiled as he stared at his bandana a little longer before turning to glance at Yami.

"We have eight ranks in our clan. With the initiates of the dying sun being the lowest of the ranks, the twilight reapers next, the crescent captains follow next, we have our midnight sun priests, the shadow binders,

The sunless generals, the dusk cardinals and finally, the eclipse sovereign."

"And what has that got to do with our current fight?" Yami asked with a raised eyebrow as he still had his hands outstretched cautiously.

"What is a crescent captain? We are only six captains and each of us, earned our position with grit and hardwork. We command our own troops and squads.

And do you know how strong a crescent captain is? We are stage 6 warriors." The man said and Yami raised an eyebrow.

"Now tell me my dear Yami," The Captain said as he raised his hand up high, his bandana clinging to his hand as he let it go causing it to fall slowly to the ground.

"Can you defeat a stage 6 warrior?" The captain asked and in one burst of speed, before the bandana could hit the ground, the man had disappeared in a flash while appearing behind Yami with a grin on his face.
