I found myself sleeping on a desk , but it is not my home and outside is different too

I check outside and found that there were vintage cars like real vintage you found in museums or epic car collection

My clothing was also strange , I was wearing a old tuxedo which looks straight out of early 1900 , I checked around and suddenly a lot of memory came in my head

My name is Tommy angelo , a member of salieri mafia family in lost heaven , 1938 .

I have a wife name Sarah and a little daughter Julia angelo .

Just today I did a heist with my buddy paulie and I have to meet him Tommorow morning for my cut

It is all good but the problem is I am Tommy angelo , the protagonist of Mafia 1 , and Tommorow morning paulie would be killed and a assassination attempt will be made on me by sam

I am stressed with my future knowledge I should think of a way to survive. I just robbed a bank yesterday with paulie and by now don must have gotten the news so the there are two ways right now

First , follow original story , snitch and spend 8 years in prison then die in next 5 years or follow mafia 2 example which is my way ,kill salieri and his crew , disguise it as a accident and then escape to empire bay and live a good life

I prefer second option more like who in there right mind would spend there prime years in prison and later spend their life hiding

There is a problem that is manpower , right now I am alone and the only one I could trust are Luigi , sahra and paulie

So I gotta save him , by now don must be planning operation of eliminating us by Tommorow with Sam so there must be surveillance

I began dressing up properly and as soon as I was about to put on the classic mafia hat , door to the bedroom open , Sarah walked in and said to me

" Where are you going this late , Tommy ?"

I replied " paulie needs some help "

" At midnight, are you going to the blue.."

" Oh no no Sarah i will never go there , I swear it's just that paulie is having trouble with something "

Though it was a lie to protect her but I still felt guilty and like I was a open book she caught me

I spoke in a quick sentence and I watched Sarah expression turn into horror

" Tommy we should run away or ask for forgiveness from the don i know he would forgive us because of me and my dad "

She was panicked , in the past she might be calm but with Julia now she was acting like this but i guess that's what being a mother is about

" Calm down Sarah , you go pack things up and put everything valuable on sale and then we will depart to empire bay day after tomorrow and also tell Luigi about it "

I assured her and have her instructions

After calming her I was ready to go

" Stay safe Tommy "

She came from behind and hug me , i subconsciously hugged her back

After that i went to garage where there was the infamous Tommy gun and a pistol , I packed them up in my coat

Then I saw the car Echart Fletcher, a silver colour car which looked already quite a beauty ( name of a car in mafia 1 remake )

I don't want to damage it so I went down the street and stole a random car , I passed the streets quickly as it was already 1 in the night

I parked my car a street away from paulie apartment because i thought of possibility of surveillance around there

I went through back alley and climed up through back ladder and found his windows open and him sleeping like a wasted drunkard on his bed with money all around him

I came in and put my hand on his mouth and woke him up

" Aah , i didn't slept with your wife , she was the one to take the initiative"

" Shh , it's me Tommy "

He looked towards me and then sat on his bed again and spoke

" Listen Tom , we were supposed to meet Tommorow and please tell me before you come like a civilized person "

" I ain't got time for that paulie we are in danger "

He looked towards me in horror and said

" Did the police found out or... did the don ? "

He said in panic

" Sam betrayed us , he told don about our robbery and he will come to kill you this morning "

He looked towards me and said in a loud voice

" Tom , listen buddy sam was my pal even before you and in some areas i trust him even more than you so don't mess with me "

" If you don't believe me paulie than wait till morning alright "

Seeing the confidence in my eyes he agreed

I found a hiding spot for in case he attacked paulie upon contact like he did in the game based on his corpse

I waited and doorbell rang

I hid behind the coat hanged on the wall near doorway

He Opened the door and started leading him through hall and sam said

Paulie looked behind upon hearing those words in shock and saw sam pointing his gun towards him ready to shoot

" See buddy i didn't want this but you crossed a line you should not have , soon I have to kill Tommy too because of you "

He was about to pull the trigger but I was quick and grabbed him down from behind

" BANG "

bullet fired from the gun but it missed everyone , i subdued sam after a brief fight .

I sudued him and paulie came with tears in his eyes he grabbed sam collor and said

" Why sam , why i thought we were friends?"

" Paulie , you crossed the don , you were dead the moment you both pulled the job "

" I am sorry paulie and Tom , i wished you would have not done it atleast you Tom "

" But i guess fate has other plans "

He sat there in his own regrets , paulie tried to pull the trigger but couldn't do it so he gave it to me and I pulled it with my eyes closed but he when he saw he begin babbling nonsence

" Tommy , leave me alive and I will tell don you both are dead and then you can live your life quietly like frank "

" No sam , we don't want to end like frank "

" We finish things up so no problem will appear in future "

I know his words are lie because I know his personality well based on the game

Loud gun shout echoed , i too left the apartment but suddenly a screen showed up in front of me that I knew too well
