Chapter 6: CHAPTER 6
Nyra's POV:
It was night already as the moon shone brightly outside.
"Moon goddess give me your blessings," I prayed in my heart before tiptoeing out of my room, looking both left and right to ensure I wasn't being watched by anyone, I then made my way straight to the door.
Tying my long white hair in a bun just above my shoulders to avoid being discovered by the guards, I hid behind a huge vase at the entrance, thanks to my petite figure I was able to fit perfectly behind the vase.
Three guards stood at the entrance clutching firmly to their swords, they wore the same designs of uniforms but one could easily tell them apart. They were backing against the door making it easy for me to creep out while jumping from vase to vase, stopping after every few moves to check if I was being monitored.
I was almost at the rear end of the building where no guards were positioned when suddenly my body accidentally hit the large vase I was hiding behind causing it to make a loud sound that attracted the attention of the guards. I quickly held up the vase before it could fall thereby exposing me.
The guard that was appointed to come check out what the noise was about got discouraged as the noise was discontinued, I could hear him tell the other guards that it could be a stray cat or some sort of animal.
Beads of sweat gathered on my forehead, as my heart threatened to escape my chest due to the fast rate of its beating which I could audibly hear.
I said a quiet thank you prayer to the moon goddess as I ran out heading towards the forest, stoping to hide behind every pillar in sight.
My senses came alive in the forest as I took a deep breath inhaling the scent of the forest. Suddenly, I sniffed a pleasant scent coming from the south of the forest.
The scent of earth after rain is a scent I'm very much addicted to, as I love the calmness it brings to the earth during such period while watching nature's comeback after a heavy downpour.
But who could possess such powerful scent. I thought to myself as I was sure it had been long it rained in this part of the forest.
I wanted so much to continue on my path of escape, but something kept pushing me to go after the scent and I couldn't help but comply. I could sense I was drawing closer to the source as the fragrance that filled my nostrils was becoming stronger, I was overwhelmed by the sensation and didn't notice when I had walked into a bush of thorns.
I struggled to free myself from this nature's trap as I felt it's thorns prickling on my skin, it was painful but I made no sound to avoid being discovered by anyone since I hadn't gone far from the pack.
I was finally able to free myself but not in time to save my skin from the spikes of the thorns as my legs were already deeply bruised due to the force in which I got myself free from the bush, I couldn't care less about them as I knew they'ld heal in no time.
All I could concentrate on now was this large pure brownish wolf in front of me, his crimson red eyes peering down at me, his brownish gold like fur under the moonlight reminded me so much of the leaves in fall season.
His scent… oh! That scent, I closed my eyes and sniffed my nose in order to fill my senses with more of his scent.
He possesses such a powerful aura more powerful than that of commander Thorne or that of luna Zaria or even more than the both combined.
"Who could this wolf be?" I thought to myself.
Wait! what if he's one of the warriors? I suddenly snapped back to my senses as my heart skipped two beats.
Zevian's POV:
"She's here! she's here!" Zac exclaimed excitedly as I stood before this petite figure.
She looked so much like a goddess under the moon's gaze, her white hair was tied up revealing her slender neck and bare shoulders, her emerald eyes having flecks of silver in them as if masking some sorts of emotions.
Her maid's uniform clung to her body so perfectly in all curves, one would think her measurements was taken for the dress to be made. she looked up at me seemingly searching for something in my eyes but I couldn't place a finger on what it was.
She suddenly closed her eyes and I could hear her sniff her nose.
Is she trying to inhale my scent? this girl is unbelievable. I muttered to myself, but what would she be looking for in the forest by this time of the night.
As she opened her eyes, I saw panic run through them as she tried to back away from me, I immediately blocked her path as I looked down on the fresh bruises on her legs probably gotten from the thorn Bush.
"Don't tell me you're trying to escape!"
