Chapter 7: Seven
Chapter 7
Lily's POV
I had a fun-filled day today, earlier on — my principal and my classmates visited...
Dad lead them into the sitting room and we all chatted...
Each of my classmates hugged me, I was showered with love and compassion...
I noticed Lucian wasn't among them. Where was he? Has he left me for good?
Tears formed at the back of my eyes and I let it out... I felt hurt, he didn't even care to come see me.
Didn't he love me enough? Didn't my friendship matter a lot to him?
When my visitors left, I told Dad and he was surprised that Lucian didn't come.
"Why didn't he come Dad?"
"I really don't know dear," he said.
"What went wrong? Is he now ashamed of associating with me?"
"Maybe he's still adjusting to the news, I know he will come." Dad said
"I've really missed him a lot, I feel like he doesn't care anymore about me."
"Don't think that way darling, remember he healed your ankle — he cares for you."
"I know but it suddenly feels like I don't matter again to him."
"He'll come soon." Dad said.
I found my head on his shoulders and believed his silent whispers of "It's gonna be alright."
Lucian's POV
A week later...
I rang the doorbell feeling determined. I have to see her.
The door opened and I saw her Dad.
"You took so long," he said, poking my nose.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"I wasn't yet ready."
"Come in — she's at the dining," he said.
He stepped aside and I stepped into the house.
I found my way to the dining and I saw her seated, chewing her food.
"Lily," I called.
Her spoon fell from her hands as she stopped eating.
'Lucian? Is that you?'
'Yes Lily - it is I,' I said, coming closer to her.
I sat on the chair beside her.
She traced her hands to my face and touched my hair; she smiled.
'What took you so long?' she asked, her hands still on my hair.
'I'm sorry—' I apologized.
'I thought you were ashamed of me already.'
'What? No Lily, I was just not ready to see you.'
'Why? Do I now give you the creeps?'
'No—I'm sorry, okay—I'm here now.'
She hugged me and whispered, 'Thank you for coming.'
I released her to continue eating.
'Let me feed you,' I said, taking her spoon.
She was reluctant at first, but she agreed. I fed her, and soon the food was finished.
