Chapter 2: Two
Chapter 2
Lucian's POV
"Good morning Lucian," Lily greeted.
"Hey Lily, how are you?" I asked.
We were in school, getting ready for the day's lesson.
We are both in high school, our last year. I'm 19 while Lily is 18, and we are very close.
She sat down beside me dropping her bag on the locker.
"How was your night?" I asked.
"It was good," she replied.
Lily is a pretty girl with red hair, a set of greenish eyes. She is tall though but I tower above her.
"Want to check out the school field?" she asked.
"Yeah – I would love to." I smiled.
"Great! After lessons," she said.
I nodded and focused my attention on the teacher teaching Physics.
Lily dropped something into my hand and I looked at it, it was a paper folded.
"You look amazing today," I said.
I smiled when I finished reading.
"Thanks," I whispered to her.
Lily and I are in the school field, the rays of the sun setting around us.
The colour of the sky red and gold and orange all around.
Lily took my hands and we spin in a circle. I see her red hair dancing in the breeze of the day.
Her green eyes peering into my soul, her hands were warm.
She starts spinning and laughing, her head thrown back with happiness.
We spun round and round laughing and sometimes bumping into each other.
Suddenly Lily falls, she grabs her ankle, tears flowing from her eyes.
"Lucian," she whispered.
I walked closer to her,
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Help me," she said holding her ankle.
I placed my hands on her ankle, examining it.
"Don't do it," my subconscious said.
I ignored it and continued examining my patient.
I closed my eyes, breathing in and out, savouring the warm air and lovely sky.
Lily's image flashed before my eyes.
"Lucian, what are you doing?" she asked.
"Shusshh - Be still."
I wrapped my hands round her ankle absorbing the pain. I felt it so sharp in my ankle.
I bite my lower lip enduring the pain. I can't allow her face the pain.
The pain continued burning red fire and I knew all her pains were mine.
Lily stood up in amazement, she jumped up and down in excitement.
"You did it," she said hugging me.
Her joy lessened my pain a little but it
still didn't go.
"I love you!" she shouted.
"I love you Lucian!"
"I love you too," I replied.
"We have to go," I said.
I stood up slowly, every step triggering more pain.
"Are you okay?" she asked worriedly.
"I'm fine," I said. I'm in so much pain. But I don't want her to know that I'm hurt.
