loving you was a mistake

Chapter 158: Tiwa Returns

The lights dimmed, the music roared, and the crowd erupted into thunderous applause as Gianna Wilson walked the runway like she was born for it. The final model to grace the Aurora by Riverson x Dior collab showcase, she owned the stage in a shimmering, custom-sequined gown that caught every eye in the room. Cameras flashed.

Influencers whispered.Fashion critics stood up. It wasn't just a show. It was a statement. A diva had arrived and her name was Gianna.

Backstage, Aurora clapped as tears of pride welled in her eyes. "She did it," she whispered to Emily. "Like a true star," Emily replied.

When Gianna stepped off the runway, the first person to rush into her arms was her mother, Emma. "My baby," Emma whispered, squeezing her daughter so tightly. "You made me so proud tonight. I… I'm sorry for everything."

Gianna's eyes welled. She had resented her mother for too long for the interference, the pain, the past. But tonight, with the love of the crowd still echoing in her ears and the scent of victory lingering in the air, she let go of it all.

"I forgive you, Mom," she whispered. "Let's stop punishing each other for the past." And just like that… healing began.

Meanwhile…

The black Maybach glided through the heavily secured gates of the Wilson-Riverson Mansion, escorted by two luxury SUVs bearing the Wilson crest. The second the lead car stopped in the circular driveway, the head butler, Richard, straightened his coat and rushed out, followed by a line of housekeepers and guards, forming a perfect welcome line. They all knew who was arriving. Tiwa Wilson.

Mark Wilson's only sister. The apple of his eye. The woman whose presence commanded respect no matter where she went. Her return wasn't just another guest visit it was an event. The car door opened and out stepped Tiwa, dressed in a sleek beige trench coat over a black designer dress, her stiletto heels clicking sharply against the marble tiles. Her oversized black shades hid her eyes, but not the confidence that radiated from her like perfume.

"Welcome home, Miss Tiwa!" the staff chorused. "Thank you," she smiled gracefully. "I missed home." Richard bowed respectfully. "We've already had your room prepared, just as you requested. Would you like refreshments in the Rose Garden or the lounge?"

"I'll decide after I freshen up. Has my brother arrived yet? "No, Ma'am. But Madam Aurora is inside." Just then, Aurora, who had been alerted by Richard, walked out in a soft silk robe with a beaming smile. "Tiwa!"

Tiwa smiled wide and opened her arms. "Aurora!" The two women embraced warmly, their closeness evident. "You didn't tell me you were coming," Aurora laughed. "I wanted to surprise you."

"You definitely did. Come inside. The house has been too quiet without your drama." They laughed together. Just as Tiwa turned to speak to Aurora, the second car door opened, and Luca stepped out. He adjusted his jacket and looked around in awe at the opulence of the mansion.

The laughter faded slightly. Aurora's eyes flicked to Tiwa. "You brought company?"

Tiwa nodded. "My fiancé. I wanted you and Mark to meet him." Just then, Mark's voice echoed from behind them. "You should've called ahead."

All heads turned.

"Big brother! "Mark hugged her tightly"

Mark had returned early and stood at the base of the stairs in a crisp suit, his expression unreadable as his gaze fell on Luca.

Mark's eyes never left the man beside her. "You brought a man into my house without notice?" It's my home too," Tiwa replied calmly. "I didn't think I needed permission to come back to where I belong." Mark's jaw tightened, but Aurora quickly stepped in.

She's right, love. And Tiwa's is your sister . Let's not ruin this moment." Mark stared at Luca for a long second before turning to Richard. "See that his bags go to the East Wing. "Yes, sir." Tiwa gave Aurora a grateful look. "Thank you."

As they all walked inside, Mark whispered to Aurora, "He might be standing in my house… but I'll be watching him like a hawk." Aurora smiled. "As you should. But trust me, Tiwa can handle herself too."

Later that night, Mark sat beside Aurora in their room. You're quiet," she said gently.

I don't like him," Mark muttered. You just met him." I don't care. He could be hiding anything." You love your sister. That's why you're being protective. But don't push her away," Aurora coaxed. "You trusted me. You can at least try to trust him." Mark sighed deeply, running a hand down his face. "I'll try. For you."

****The Next Morning*****

At breakfast, Tiwa walked in with a solemn face. Mark…" "Yes?" "I've decided to move out. I don't want to disrespect you or Aurora by staying here too long." Mark raised a brow. "Where are you going?" I'll stay in the Midtown estate. The one you barely use."

Aurora blinked. "Mark owns a mansion in Midtown?" "Mark owns five here in New York ," Tiwa replied with a small laugh. "He just doesn't tell you everything." Aurora chuckled while Mark sighed. "You don't have to leave. "I want to," Tiwa smiled. "I'm not the little girl you protected anymore. Let me prove it."

Mark nodded slowly. "If you need anything, call me. "I will. And… I know you're watching him like a hawk." "Good. Then you know I mean it."

The press flooded the internet with praise for Gianna's show.Aurora's perfume was already trending in Paris. Gianna had forgiven her mother. Tiwa was back home, grown and bold.
