Love that kills.

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Mahmoud wasn't aware or conscious of everything that was happening around him. His brain was about to explode from all the crises that were hounding him. Every time he got rid of one, another would follow him. Aaliyah, then Amira, then this so-called Shadi Attawia, whose name he had heard for the first time in the bank manager's office a short while ago. But how and when did he approve that loan? Which committee inspected his assets and estimated the loan at this value?

All of these questions were about to destroy his brain cells, exhausted from the multitude of questions without obtaining any answers that would help him solve this mystery before the disaster occurred that might sweep away the entire bank management, of which he was definitely a part. Mahmoud reviewed all the papers and documents related to this loan transaction over and over again, but he didn't find anything suspicious. He looked at the list of the asset inspection committee that had gone to inspect the company and its warehouses, because of whom the loan was approved. The list included three accountants, one of whom Mahmoud knew very well, Hossam Mustafa, Aaliyah's future husband, as she herself had told him. Mahmoud decided to go to the company to investigate this Shadi Attawia himself. He quickly left the bank and got into his car and drove to the company. There he met the owner of the International Investment Company, who of course wasn't Shadi Attawia, but someone else named Ammar Mahgoub. Mahmoud asked the company secretary to meet Mr. Mahgoub for an urgent matter. The man introduced himself and showed his ID to confirm the matter. Mr. Ammar Mahgoub immediately gave him permission to meet, believing the matter to be very important. After hastily greeting them, Mahmoud asked him anxiously and anticipatingly:

- Are you the actual owner of the company?!

- This is a family company and I am one of its owners and actual manager.

The man was managing the company for his mother and sisters in addition to himself as well.

- Were you at the company on June 6th?

- I certainly won't remember a specific day at work, but if it was a work day, I was definitely there.

- On that day, there were three people from the bank I work at here inspecting the company, its warehouses, and...

- June 6th was about a month ago, or a little less, but no one from any bank was here with us. You can tell me their names and I'll check with the security department right away.

- I'll write down their names for you right away. Can I have a blank piece of paper?

- Of course.

Mahmoud sat in Mr. Ammar Mahgoub's office for about fifteen minutes sipping his sugar-free coffee; the coffee was as heavy as these minutes that passed like lean years of boredom and waiting until he heard a knock on the office door. Mr. Mahdi Ismail, the company's security manager, entered. He was a dark-skinned, broad-shouldered, and heavyset man. He was holding a piece of paper in his hand as if he had found some very important information. Mr. Ammar took the initiative and said:

- Please, take a rest, Mr. Mahdi.

- Thank you, sir.

- So, tell us what you've found.

- The three who you sent me a paper with their names were indeed here on the date you mentioned, but there was a fourth one with them at the same time named Shady Attawia. They were an Industrial Security Committee. They came to inspect our workflow.

Mr. Ammar added, putting his hand on his forehead:

- Yes, indeed. I remembered that day. I was in my office waiting for them until they finished their work as they asked that no one be with them while they were doing it.

They would inspect and finish their work and then come to my office when they were done, so I had the engineers stay close to them in case they needed to know or ask about anything.

Mahmoud was completely shocked by what he heard from the two men. It seemed that this man, Shady Attawia, had planned everything very well. But he said agitatedly:

- How did you know, Mr. Mahdi, that they were an Industrial Security Committee?!

- I knew from the ID cards they presented to us at the company gate of course.

- Each one of them presented his own ID card?!

- No. Mr. Shady Attawia came in his car and handed us the four ID cards and said these are the ID cards of the gentlemen so we wouldn't be late for work, and I personally checked the ID cards, and when the other three came in, I compared the people's ID cards with the cards and they were okay.

Mahmoud shouted angrily, his eyes blazing with tension and excitement:

- It must be fake, the con man forged everything.

Here, Mr. Ammar remembered something and added:

- By the way, Mr. Mahmoud, Shady Attawia had previously visited the company about a week before, but he was alone and introduced himself as an industrial security officer. I received him and took him on a tour myself in the company and the warehouses. He actually told me that he would come again with a committee of three or four people until they decided who would be in the inspection committee and when they would come to inspect.

- He was definitely paving the way for his plan.

- But how did the members of the bank inspection committee were known to him?!

- Of course, when the bank set the inspection date with him, he asked them to know the names of the inspection committee to facilitate the entry and inspection procedures and such.

- He is an international thief, may God spare us from evil.

- Anyway, I am very grateful to you all and I am sorry for the upset. Please allow me, Mr. Ammar, to contact you if I need anything related to this matter, which I hope will remain between us until we see how the bank will deal with it.

- Of course, I understand and I am at your service at any time.

- Thanks alot.

Mahmoud was very angry with this Shady Attawia who thought of this cunning to get the bank into this mess, the consequences of which no one knows what will lead to, but!! Is this Shady working alone? Or does he have someone helping him in the bank in some way to share the bank’s spoils with him? And is his real name even Shady Attawia? He is a very clever forger. He forged the company’s ownership documents and ID cards and worked with great ease; The worst kind of evil is the evil accompanied by the utmost human intelligence and cunning.

Mahmoud was not paying attention to the road while driving and was lost in his thoughts until he got lost and drowned in them, so he did not see the cars in front of him. His car, he was driving at high speed , swerved to the left and collided with a lamppost on the side of the road as well as the adjacent concrete barrier until it flipped over and stopped moving.
