Lord of Sin - A Hellaverse AUSI

Chapter 18: Chapter 17: Velvette’s Introspection

*BANG*

In the Diabolos office building, the lounge area for the main executives, Verosika entered the room by kicking the door.

There she was met with a glare from Velvette who was lazily scrolling on her phone. The two gave each other a look of acknowledgement before turning back to their own matters.

Verosika scanned the room before turning back but as she was about to exit the room Vel spoke up-

"Al's not here"

"Where is he?"

"Dunno, how about you ask him?"

The two women glared at each other, Verosika rolled her eyes as she spat-

"Hmph! Used goods"

*BANG*

Hearing the door close with a bang Vel showed an uncaring expression as she muttered-

"Clingy bitch"

Yet, despite her outward lack of care, the phone in her hands had already shown some cracks.

Seeing the cracks, Vel let out a quiet humph as she burned the phone with scarlet flames before picking up another one in the pile right beside her.

As she started to scroll in Sinster, a voice whispered into her ear-

"Quite a tsundere aren't ya?"

Vel let out a sigh as she responded to the man behind her without even turning to look at him-

"You're little Koala's rampaging around the office looking for you, how about you deal with that first before you come here to piss me off?"

The man behind her, Alan, chuckled upon hearing her words as he asked.

"Oh? Where's the little fangirl who sucked me right in front of the whole population of hell?"

Vel dropped her phone, she turned to Alan and had an apathetic expression on her face as she answered-

"First, that was only a portion of hell, second, that was childish stupidity- just a black memory created by the last bits of human emotion I had upon coming to hell- finally, you're a fucking dick"

Unoffended, Alan did not refute any of her words as he appeared right in front of the sitting Velvette. He trapped her under his body as he then asked.

"So, is this what they call "falling out of love"? Or is it "disenchantment"? Did I even "enchant" you?"

"Nope, you never did, all you did was kidnap me, assault me, then manipulated me, and now you're once again assaulting me-"

Vel turned down to look at the tentacles that had spawned from the shadows, the tentacles were slowly creeping up her skirt and reaching into the place between her legs.

"What's it with you and tentacles nowadays?"

Alan did not respond to her, he only dematerialized the tentacles as he separated from Vel and turned to leave.

But as Alan was about to vanish into the shadows again, Vel turned towards him as she said.

"It wouldn't kill you to take things seriously you know!"

Stopping his teleportation, Alan turned to Vel, his sly expression still plastered on his face as he said.

"I am always serious"

He immediately burned away in pitch black flames as he finished his words leaving Vel to shake her head as she muttered.

"Serious at playing games…"

[A/N: Listen to Monsters by All time Low for the mood]

Vel picked up her phone, she opened Sinster but- she lost the desire to scroll through the mindless posts. Even looking at the countless simps praising her didn't elevate her mood.

The phone was burned with scarlet flames, repressed rage surged within Vel's heart, she walked out of the room and headed for her own office.

Walking through busy halls with an angry face on made many of the employee's avoid her. Although the act of killing the employees was something banned, exceptions were given for Vel, Verosika and all of Alan's harem.

This meant that any demon or sinner who get's fucked by Alan get's instant immunity and protection.

Unfortunately, few people in the building had such luxuries- this also meant that Vel was avoided by many of the employees.

In the "secret" chat group created by Vox, a message chain was quickly started…

AnOn: The 🔥Queen🔥 is out!

@n0n: The 🔥Queen🔥 has passed Logistics! She's headed for her office! All those on her path ⚠️

The chat allowed all the employees to act accordingly, none dared to take their chances as the last one who did had already been swept up by the janitors.

Vel was aware of the chat, she wanted to burn some of the bastards but-

'Damn it'

She cursed internally as the image of Alan flashed in her mind.

'I'm just the prideful slut who tries to peg him… that's all I am…'

When she thought of the reason why Alan even bothered to sleep with her, a burning rage erupted within her heart.

Well aware of how Alan was, she was extremely pissed at the man. She still respected him, but she had long lost the eternal devotion she had for him.

It was even worse when she recalled him talking to her about how he didn't want to see "Another Verosika".

To Alan, all of his partners were nothing more than isolated scenarios. Verosika was the clingy GF who would kill and fight against his other partners to monopolize his attention.

The succubitch had already killed a dozen sinners and demons who "stole her time" with Alan. Worst part of it was that Alan didn't really mind as those women had what he called "common nature".

Every partner had their own identity, each identity was marked with a certain rarity.

Stella was the noble MILF, but that role was taken by a certain Eldritch noble who looked like the queen of hell, Lilith.

According to Alan, she was a "budget Lilith". A substitute he played with while he still lacked the confidence to go up against Lucifer.

'Just another game…'

This was hell, Vel knew that the people here were twisted. Everyone was a bastard who did whatever they wanted whenever they wanted.

She herself was a lesbian, before and even now but-

'That fucking bastard!'

Reaching her office, the moment the door closed, a spell circle activated and as it did she exploded. Her room was burned by scarlet flames, yet, just as the items within were turned to dust, indigo flames erupted recreating the rooms interior.

Vel did not bother to destroy the items again, she stomped towards the desk.

She opened a drawer and within it she pulled out a ring.

That was the first ring that she received from Alan, the ring she used when they attacked Valentino, the ring she used to subdue Vox.

This was the ring which carried the promise Alan made with her. The power, the authority- all of it was given to her.

Now, no matter how much power Alan had, he always brought Vel with him. She was his confidante, his second in command.

She was the only person who he could trust to have his back but-

That was all she was worth-

Vel's pride and desire were grand but unlike others who rode on air, she was standing on a stable platform and her eyes were not obscured by a haze. She could see things for what they are and she knew the truth behind Alan-

In fact, among all the people related to Alan, she was the one who knew him best.

Even Verosika did not know about him, she was blinded. Taking on the role of a blind idiotic lover, the type to mask everything in a filter of her own making…

Vel was the one who saw the reality of everything-

No…

'That was the role I was given…'

She had long understood her role but-

No matter how she tried to split it, the reality was that she was a former human. No matter how she told herself that she was a manwoman- that she was just as psychotic and deranged as Alan-

'I'm… FUCK!'

She slammed her fist on the table, tears rolling down her cheeks-

Few knew of this side of her, the scarlet queen- the aggressive, domineering and prideful queen that stood atop others…

In the end, she was just another girl, when all the things she wanted and needed were in her hands, only then did she realize that she- much like others… was just another person suffering.

Alan's philosophy was something she had deeply ingrained in her mind. The way he thought was something she understood deeply-

When she used that to look at her own personality, her own being…

She was made to face the truth she turned away from all these years. A reality she didn't want to acknowledge and yet…

She still chased after it, she clung to it-

Freedom was at the palm of her hands but she didn't reach for it.

Alan would not bat a second eye if she left, but the mere thought of that scared her.

The thought that she was truly just another disposable piece…

Was it love? Was it dependence?

She never saw it that way but the thought of Freedom ingrained into her mind by Alan, the ideas of agency, the choice… it was all there and yet…

'Why…'

Her cry could not be heard, only by herself and yet- she knew, even this state of hers was more than likely being observed.

The turmoil she was going through, the struggles she was experiencing-

Maybe… just maybe- that would keep those eyes on her…
