 The torturing dinner finally ended Anne really wanted to stand up and then walk away, but she couldn't muster up the courage, it made her feel even weaker, she walked slowly towards her room when one of the maid stood in front of her "Hey you, what's your name ?" "I'm Anne" Anne lowered her head," madam said I should tell you that you are not living in the mansion for free, the Edwards family isn't so kind, and that you should do simple house chores to cover up for your expenses!" the maid said annoyed, Anne face fell, she nodded and said "what am I to do?" And the maid sneered pointing at the dinning table "clear the dinning room, watch the dishes, the table clothes And wipe the floor clean" and proudly walked away. Anne didn't feel much about it after all she used to do such work with grandma, doing it here wouldn't be hard.  **Few hours later ** Anne sat on the ground scrubbing the marble floor, she wiped her sweat off her face and scanned the room and sighed for the nth time, she was delusional, she was thinking someone would come and tell her to go to bed, but no one showed up, she wiped the tears she didn't even know when they fell, she kept cleaning and cleaning the floor with a towel, and sounds of footsteps echoed in the hall, Anne raised her head to see Lily. Lily smiled and walked closer to her with her right hand stretched forward "I'm Lily, nice to meet you !" , Anne couldn't help but feel warm but hesitant. "I'm Anne" Anne held her hand and smiled "what are you doing here at this time of the night, ... OOO you're taking late night snack""... ""Know what I'm here for snacks too, I didn't expect us to have a lot in common!" Lily said excitedly. " No I'm actually on night duty to clean the dinning room" "OOO, I see !" Sh entered her room and slowly laid on the cold floor, the blanket wasn't enough to keep her warm, she felt like she might fall sick soon, no matter how she tried she couldn't sleep, she tossed and turned, ' maybe it's because I'm not used to sleeping on a cold floor, she stood up and walked towards the window, she smiled inhaling and exhaling the refreshing air, the scenery of the town was so beautiful, it was the bustling with cars and people, in the countryside it wasn't this noisy , it was always quiet and peaceful, but she kind of liked this town, her smile slowly faded when she thought of everything that happened, from the time she stepped into this house till now, she just didn't know why they hated her so much. She suddenly remembered what grandma told her …FLASHBACK..  ..the night before Caleb took Anne to the Edwards mansion… Grandma woke up and walked towards Anne's room and opens the door, she sat beside her on her bed and lightly tapped her. ' I had been worried about Anne since my son told me about taking Anne home, I know they won't treat her well, sadly I couldn't do anything about it, all I could do is to try to convince Caleb to believe Anne isn't like her mother, I too felt like I should be against Anne, after all her mother was a vixen, I should hate her, she almost destroyed my son's marriage, but I just couldn't, I had always had this feeling, it wasn't just a feeling, but it was true, Anne was a total opposite of Emilie, she was a lot like ... The sizzling breeze jolted her back to reality, she sighed for the nth time ,she wonder how long this was going to last ,she just felt like there was a dark 🌑 cloud surrounding her ,her heart blocked ,tears slowly fell from her eyes , she tightly closed her eyes and prayed with her hand held together in front of her chest " Almighty , I hope you lead me through this temptation just like all times, when I was sick you made me live till now , when all hope was lost you gave me a new hope , pls guide me through this as well !" . She sighed and closed the window as she felt uncomfortable and cold ,she laid down and fell asleep ,with one thing in mind , AWAITING THE NEXT TROUBLE!
