Chapter 965: I look cool [2/2]
Her words caused the room to turn silent. Exa then showed us what looked like a blurry image of the exact vision Jas just described. But the faces of the people in it were hard to see. It was like trying to watch 360p videos on an HD monitor.
But unlike simple videos made by humans, the vision Exa shared had something else. Somehow, the soul signatures of everyone in the video could be felt. Most of them were familiar, but there were a lot of others I didn't recognize.
Despite all that, I was happiest when I felt the unimaginable strength of Hellsend's leaders. Their soul signatures were the ones I memorized to the last detail. And they were all even more powerful than David.
Pride swelled up when I saw the final form of the Seven Sirens. Even without their faces, I knew who was who. I knew every inch of their bodies after all. Although it seemed the girls would get even sexier in the future. I sensed fuller hips, larger busts, and tighter asses.
'Looks like my girls age like fine wine. Can't wait,' I cheered excitedly in my mind.
I then felt a sharp pain in multiple parts of my body. All of a sudden, both my ears were being pinched. Nails dug into my hands and arms. Naturally, the only people in the world I would allow to treat me that way were my lovers.
"Beloved, I cannot believe you! Why are you analyzing the size of our breasts at such a moment?"
"Dearest, it is times like this when I find you incorrigible! Can't you see literally anything else in that video?"
"Possum, you know I love ya, but get your brain outta your donger! Though, did ya see the tits I had? I was as big as Ma!"
"HAHAHA! Darling! Will you get better if I whack you in the head? You seem sick!"
"Sigh, whatever tension I felt just blew out the window. An entire army was about to kill him, and all he saw was the cm's that changed in our assets. And this man was the enemy?"
"Husband, if you are trying to make a joke, I am not laughing. This is not funny. Why are you laughing? Stop it! This is serious! Mouh!"
"Ara Ara, Shujin never jokes about such matters, does he? He once told me he would be fine if his head got squashed so long as it was between my thighs. Or was it about dying while I sat on him in the nude?"
"Sigh, fine. I look cool; is that better?"
"…" x7
"Hahahah!"
The girls and I turned, laughing. We saw Zanele, trying to stifle her giggles. But as if someone were tickling her, her cackles kept getting louder. Soon, she had tears in her eyes.
"Oi, something better be bloody funny, Nelle! Otherwise, I am planting my foot in your ass."
"Oh my, forgive me, Lady Rhiannon. I just couldn't help myself."
Zanele was having such a good time; she didn't even care that Robyn was staring daggers at her. It was the first time the woman had shown some backbone to my Kitten.
"And pray tell, what do you find so funny?" Lilly inquired with an air of annoyance.
"It's the dynamics of your group. Somehow, no matter the bleakness of a situation, you all find ways to look at the bright side and drive out the fear. I mean, Lady Jas shared a very grim reality, yet the Successor only saw what he wished to see.
"His reaction, while incredibly foolish, now influences you all to focus on him alone. The future, which would crush weaker men, has no sway over him, and now you. Whether by intent or not, it was his actions that led to this outcome. It's really incredible."
The girls then all stared at me and shook their heads collectively.
"I don't think so," they all remarked.
It took a few minutes for Zanele to settle down. Somewhere along the way, even Olamide began to make a big grin. The Sirens, however, suddenly pulled out newspaper rolls and bashed me in the head with them. I shouldn't feel anything, but I somehow did.
"What the hell are those things? Why can I still feel being hit? Are they fakers or something?"
"Nu-uh Darling, it was Bella's idea. We had Ma make us one each. She happily did so and told us to bash you in the head when you are being silly. We are not doing it because it's fun. Honest!"
"These things feel like magic; I feel my frustrations melting away whenever I hit you in the head, Mr. Code. I am already having mine analyzed by the Exa and the Wizards."
"Well, stop! They hurt, okay!" I complained in frustration.
"Beloved, stop being so childish; I have seen you take worse. Do not worry; it will end soon. Remember to keep your arms to your sides."
"Ara. It feels so satisfying to hear the twak it makes on Shujin's head."
"Oh, I thought it was just me. Husband, come here. I haven't had enough."
"Maybe we should have Ma make these to sell. We would make a fortune! Although I refuse to let anyone else beat Dearest with them."
"Damn straight, only I get to bludgeon my Possum with Ma's paper roll."
And so, despite my protests, the girls vented by beating me with rolls of newspaper. It took another half hour before they finally stopped. The entire time, I wasn't even allowed to cover my head.
Still, considering that it was to relieve some of the stress in my girls, I considered it a small price to pay. Zanele and Olamide lost it and were laughing the entire time.
When we finally all sat back down. We continued to discuss the Successors. The girls obviously shifted the topic back to the ones Zanele knew. We would probably talk about Jas's vision in private.
"Ehem, Lady Rhiannon, can I please get one of those newspaper rolls too?"
"Can it Nelle. Start talking."
"Right, my apologies. Where was I? Ah, regarding the Successors. After Sibu left, I couldn't get as much information about him. But I eventually learned that he crossed the ocean and headed to Europe. There, he exhibited new powers but eventually fell in battle."
Sibu already met five of his Sins before he left Africa. If he found more after he left, he would have been incredibly powerful. I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that he was able to fight a Revenant to a standstill when he wasn't one.
"How? Who killed him?"
Zanele made a sad expression, "I am sorry, I never found out. News of him just stopped. And as the ones who mattered all forgot about him, only people like me remember that he existed."
I see. Reapers had short lives. And as anything above a Specter forgot the dead. So, being erased was a natural occurrence. But why were even written records so hard to find?
"It took a few decades, but soon enough, I met someone extremely like Sibu. He gave the same impression. And as one of the few who remembered Sibu, few pointed out the similarities between the new one and my friend?"
"What happened next?" Jo asked.
"The new successor was from Angola and was called Luciano Nzinga. Unlike Sibu, he was more level-headed and wise. He drew people in with his calm personality and great strength. By the time I met him, he was accompanied by a single woman."
'This is going to be interesting.'
