Legendary Architect of Apocalypse

Chapter 51: Responsible Seniors

Elias was brought back to the Academy, along with the other first-year students of the Destroyer class. After the Professor's arrival, the portal leading to the World of Frost closed forever.

"How does it look? This is the building for our Destroyer Class. Majestic, isn't it?" The Professor placed his hands on his waist and puffed out his chest as he looked at the grand building in front of him.

Elias looked at the grand structure before him, which looked far from normal. It wasn't that the building was ugly, not exactly. It was just... strange. Built from some kind of obsidian-like stone that seemed to absorb the light rather than reflect it, the structure felt slightly intimidating, as if it were alive.

Normally, he could see the material composition of most lifeless things, but he couldn't see anything with this building. He wasn't certain if it was because the building wasn't quite dead, or if there was another reason.

Did he need to evolve further to analyze a grand structure like this? He couldn't be sure. The building was spread out for hundreds of kilometers. He looked left and right, but he couldn't even see the end of it on either side.

There was only one gate, located in the middle of the Academy, but the door was closed. There was a pillar on either side of the gate, and a statue that looked like a gargoyle was sitting on each pillar.

It was only for a brief moment, but he felt the eyelids of the gargoyle statues move.

Even more intimidating, was the giant dragon that was wrapped around the tower on top of the building. The dragon wasn't a statue either. It was a living, breathing dragon.

The dragon was holding a giant beast in its claws and biting it. There were other beasts in the sky that kept flying straight towards the dragon, as if they were being controlled by someone to fly straight to their deaths.

"It looks like something out of a nightmare," a girl with bright pink hair, standing next to Elias, mumbled. "It won't fall on us, will it?"

The Professor, seemingly oblivious to their unease, laughed. "This building has stood for centuries. You don't have to worry about anything. It's completely safe."

Boom~

He had just finished telling them that the building was safe when a loud explosion was heard. The hundred-foot-tall gate of the building flew off, coming straight for the Professor.

His lips twitched as he raised his hand, catching the metallic gate, which was as heavy as a mountain. Everything was a blur as the students saw a green shadow rushing out of the building, roaring like a mad beast.

The Professor simply swung the heavy gate like a bat, his movements being faster than even the shadow. A loud noise echoed as the gate hit the creature, sending it flying into the sky.

Only then were the students able to see the creature. It looked vaguely humanoid but at the same time beastly.

It was at least fifty feet tall, with green scales on its skin. Its head was disproportionately large, with a mouth filled with rows of sharp teeth, each one longer than a man's arm.

The beast was so heavy that even the fifty-inch-thick gate bent in the middle after hitting the creature.

The creature roared as it was sent flying into the sky. It felt like it was trying to balance itself to come down and attack the man again, but before it could even move, giant claws grabbed it. A dragon got hold of it and chewed its head off.

"What were you saying about being safe?" someone asked the Professor, looking at the bent gate in his hand. They hadn't even entered the building, and they had almost died without even doing anything.

The Professor scratched the back of his head, tossing the hundred feet tall gate aside. "It is a rare sight. This place is very safe otherwise. Your Seniors are very responsible."

Boom~

Almost all the students looked at the Professor blankly, as an even louder explosion was heard. They saw the windows of the second floor shattered, with a large cloud of black flames rushing out.

A figure flew out amidst the explosion, as if caught in it. The girl, who seemed to be only seventeen years old, fell right between the Professor and the students.

Even if she suffered through a loud explosion and had some of her skin burnt, she seemed largely unaffected. Even her burnt skin was healing on its own, at a speed visible to the naked eye.

She simply stood up, and patted her clothes. "It looks like the ratio was wrong. I need to adjust it again."

"Ah, Professor Grey, what are you doing here?" She took a moment to notice the others in her surroundings, reacting all surprised as if they were the ones that had appeared out of thin air.

Grey's lips twitched uncontrollably. "Can't you idiots be responsible for one day?"

"Professor, have you seen a green Gorgonar nearby?" Another person came running out of the building, seemingly looking for something.

Grey took a deep breath, realizing that it was almost useless to talk sense into these idiots. There were just too many of them.

He simply pointed towards the top of the building.

"Thanks Professor," the young man said, as he looked in the direction that Grey was pointing. "What the..."

The moment you looked above, he saw the Gorgonar being completely headless in the claws of the dragon which was chewing with great love.

"Professor, your pet is eating my Gorgonar!" the boy exclaimed, almost in a panicked tone. "I spent a lot on it! You have to compensate me!"

His words made the students of first year Destroyer Class realize that the dragon belonged to Grey. And the two youngsters seemed to be their seniors.

Grey's serious expressions disappeared and a smile returned to his face as he called the young man forth.

"Come, I will compensate you."

The young man approached Grey, wondering how the Professor was going to compensate him. Even the most useless treasure of a Professor was more useful than a Gorgonar. Unfortunately, his sweet dreams didn't last long.
