Chapter 25: – Breaking Limits, Falling With Honor
The infirmary was quiet. The sound of the crowd's applause still echoed faintly as Ryan stared at the ceiling, trying to catch his breath. His body ached, but his spirit… burned brighter than ever.
The door burst open.
— "RYAN!" — Annie rushed in, her eyes shining with joy.— "You did it! You beat Kane!"
Ryan sat up, face still sweaty and exhausted, but smiling.
— "It's not over yet…" — he said firmly. — "Now it's Ethan. And if there's anyone I wouldn't want to face… it's him."
Annie frowned.
— "Why, Yan?"
— "He's unpredictable… and physical. Great at close combat. Fast. He has that instinct."— "And he's a Stormbreak. It's not just talent — he was forged for this."
— "You're strong too, Yan."
— "Maybe… but Ethan's a monster."
Right then, the door opened again — louder this time.
— "Talking about me?" — Ethan walked in, eyes sparking with that electric energy of his.— "Was that real? You beat that jerk Kane?"
Ryan chuckled, relieved to see his friend.
— "Yeah… but now it's me vs. you."
— "And I'm not holding back." — Ethan said with a playful grin, clenching his fist.
— "Neither am I."
They smiled.Two heroes.Two friends.Two rivals.
🎙️ MAIN ARENA — MOMENTS LATER
The lights dimmed. A massive screen replayed highlights of Ryan Valeborn and Ethan Stormbreak's path through the Draft. The crowd was on fire.
In the VIP balcony, Darius leaned in.
— "Well, Inavy's in trouble now... who's he gonna cheer for? The kid he became a fan of… or his own son?"
Everyone laughed.
— "I'll cheer for whoever wins." — Inavy muttered, flustered.
Kelvin, serious, added:
— "Ryan's been the smartest fighter in this Draft. But against my son… he won't win. The Reversum is already consuming him. And he doesn't even know how to control it yet."
Lorien's eyes widened.
— "Did you say… Reversum?"
— "Yeah, is that a problem?"
Lorien muttered, shaken:
— "I knew it… Ray mentioned it when I was a teenager. It's not normal aura. It's reflective — negative. He doesn't project aura… he reflects it."
Inavy nodded.
— "That's why they call him 'Aura-less'. But the truth is… he has something no one else does."
⚔️ THE FINAL SHOWDOWN
The announcer roared:
— "TWO COLOSSAL FORCES! TWO YOUNG LEGENDS IN THE MAKING! RYAN VALEBORN! ETHAN STORMBREAK! NOW!"
The arena erupted.
Ryan and Ethan faced off at the center of the ring.
BAM! Ethan attacked first — a lightning-charged punch launched Ryan across the stage.Ryan stood up, gasping for air.
— "Why isn't Reversum working…?" — he thought, frustrated.
In the stands, Lorien narrowed his eyes.
— "Ethan… he's unconsciously adapting to the Reversum. He instinctively understands how it works…"
Suddenly, Ryan's aura exploded. A bluish field surrounded him.He punched the ground, sending floating stones into the air. Leaping between them, he confused Ethan with surprising agility.
— "This kid's got real hand-to-hand skill." — Lorien admitted.
But Darius noticed something else.
— "Look at Ethan's aura… it's unstable."
Inavy shivered.
— "Red and black lightning… That can't be. Chaos? Fragmented?"
Ethan advanced, spiraling with divine lightning. His twin daggers glowed in his hands — but he stopped.
— "No."
He sheathed the blades.
— "Ryan's my friend. With you… I'll fight with my own fists."
And so began a pure taijutsu battle.Fast. Brutal. Human.
Ryan pushed with raw speed and instinct. His weakened Reversum still propelled him forward.
He broke the sound barrier with a spinning kick that nearly hit Ethan.
But Ethan smiled.
He formed a bow of crimson light fused with darkness — lightning shaped into a cosmic weapon.
Technique: Primordial Collapse Arrow"Chaos doesn't scream. It points."
— "No…" Ryan tried to run. But there was no escape.
The arrow tore through space — and shattered what could've been Ryan's future.
He fell.
Silence. The arena stood still.
Ethan walked up.
Held out his hand.
— "Get up, Ryan. This hero here deserves a standing ovation!"
The crowd erupted into applause and cheers.Annie screamed his name.Ryu clapped proudly.Even Kane, from a distance, clenched his fists.
Ryan, overwhelmed, cried as he hugged Ethan tightly.
In the stands, Emily Valeborn ran down and embraced him too.
— "Mom… I did it."
— "I know, my son. Today, you proved… that Zero can, indeed, become everything."
Social media shattered:
#ZeroBreaksLimits#RyanVsEthan#NewLegend#AuraOrNot
Ryan smiled, tears falling.
But deep inside… he knew.
This was just the beginning.
