Chapter 303: Austin vs Garek
Noan looked in the direction Caleb indicated and immediately saw someone he was rather familiar with.
No—more precisely, someone who was very familiar to Caleb, Alex, and Austin.
However, Alex wasn't present at this moment; if he were, things would probably become even more interesting.
"Do you want to see the person who just severely injured the Evil God?"
Hearing Noan's question, Caleb felt a bit confused, but then nodded lightly. "Yes, Master."
…
"Damn it! It's you!" Austin shouted when he saw that the person standing before him was Garek. "Hahahaha… This area really is small, huh? We meet again so soon."
Garek looked at Austin, a little uneasy. "You're the dog that ran away last time, aren't you?"
"Ah! Who's the real dog now, we'll see soon enough." Austin raised his arm, regenerated from Void energy. "What do you see here?"
"The arm you took from me last time has now become my strongest weapon?"
"I'll use this arm to tear you into a hundred pieces."
Seeing that arm, Garek's instincts instantly warned him of immense danger.
But he didn't feel too worried—right now, his own arm was something special.
He lifted the arm he'd grafted from the Orc King and laughed, "Don't think you're the only one with special power—I have some too."
Garek clenched that arm, displaying his strength.
Austin scoffed, "What the hell is that trash arm? You think that thing can beat me?"
Garek replied, "Yeah, maybe this can't beat you, but… he can."
At that moment, an Orc King slowly stepped up beside Garek, arms folded, looking at Austin with utter contempt.
After the fight with Zeka, the Orc King had spent much of his strength, but to kill an ant, he figured he wouldn't need much more.
Austin's eyes widened at the sight of the Orc King.
A C-rank monster radiated a murderous and overwhelming aura, totally different from a D-rank monster.
Even though he now possessed new strength, at this moment, Austin still felt a hint of fear.
He had already struggled to fight D-rank heroes—now, faced with a C-rank hero, his chances of winning were nearly nonexistent.
Austin took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down, then shouted, "So what if you use a Hero? If you've got the guts, fight me one-on-one!"
"Hahahaha…" Garek laughed loudly. "You think I'm stupid? Why should I risk fighting you myself when my Hero can kill you with ease?"
"All right, don't kill him. I need to keep him alive—I want that arm of his."
Garek sneered coldly.
He knew well that his magic item allowed him to graft a monster's body part onto his own.
Garek could sense Austin's arm was extremely strange, but also incredibly powerful.
He wanted that arm.
If both of his arms could possess such special power, then he'd no longer have to fear Maisy.
He would definitely be able to turn Maisy into a toy on his bed.
That Orc King, holding a spiked club, slowly stepped forward until he was right in front of Austin.
Austin took a deep breath, his body trembling. The confidence he'd felt earlier had completely vanished—replaced by anxiety and dread.
He frowned, lifting his hand, and a spear appeared in his grasp.
The spear was purple, its tip red-hot, radiating a heat as fierce as molten lava.
"Come on! Let me see… just how strong is a C-rank Hero?"
The Orc King snorted with contempt and lunged at Austin like a raging storm.
Whoosh!
As the Orc King charged, the snow on the ground was kicked up, covering the whole area.
Austin gripped his spear tightly and raised it high.
BAM!
The Orc King's club slammed down, but was blocked by Austin's spear. However, Austin immediately felt a terrifying force, forcing him to his knees.
His legs buckled, not fully kneeling yet, but already shaking violently.
"Is that all you've got?"
"You—" Hearing the Orc King's mocking tone, Austin wanted to snap back.
But the Orc King didn't give Austin any chance to recover.
He swung his leg up and kicked Austin hard in the stomach.
BAM!
A violent impact sounded. Austin was sent flying backward like a leaf, then landed with a thud in the snow, completely buried and out of sight.
Garek stood in the distance, sneering, "Oy! Haven't you eaten anything? You're this weak and still dare to challenge me? Hahahaha…"
"Bastard!" Austin crawled out from the pile of snow, using his spear as a cane, struggling to stand.
"You bastard! Don't look down on me!" Austin gritted his teeth.
Suddenly, the temperature around him began to rise—so much that the snow started to melt, and the air itself distorted, creating an illusion like rippling water.
Garek frowned, "What the hell?!"
Whoong! Whoong! Whoong!
From Austin's arm, waves of heat radiated out, making the surrounding snow melt even faster. Even some dry leaves nearby suddenly caught fire.
The Orc King, too, sensed that something was wrong. He gripped his spiked club tightly, nerves tense as a drawn bowstring.
BAM!
Austin, gripping his spear, stomped hard on the ground and shot toward the Orc King like an arrow.
The Orc King was not to be outdone. He swung his spiked club directly at Austin.
BAM!
The two weapons collided, unleashing a shockwave of intense heat that swept out in all directions.
Garek, standing far away, was startled and cursed inwardly, "Damn it! What the hell is going on? Why do all these trash dogs have such bizarre opportunities?"
That's right.
The "dog" Zeka, whom Garek had once looked down on, had gained an incredible fortune and become the Evil God.
Now, the "trash dog" in front of him seemed to have received some strange fortune as well, granting him a bizarre arm and a power that was in no way inferior to Garek's own new arm.
Garek frowned. Even from a distance, he could feel the heatwave—it was like a gust blowing in from the desert.
The Orc King, standing closest to Austin, naturally felt the terrifying heat emanating from Austin's body.
Suddenly, the Orc King was startled to see his spiked club begin to glow red, as if being heated in a forge.
The Orc King knew he couldn't maintain this situation and immediately retreated.
Austin grit his teeth—even though he could unleash a heat that made the Orc King wary, he was also under immense pressure.
His heart was pounding so hard it felt as if it would burst.
Yet he stubbornly endured, determined to use his current power to defeat the Orc King. If not, he would be the one to die.
Austin gripped his spear and charged toward the Orc King. Every step he took melted the snow beneath his feet.
The spearhead, glowing red like molten lava, was aimed straight at the Orc King's head.
However, the Orc King seemed to notice something and immediately swung his already glowing-hot spiked club.
BAM!
The Orc King's club once again collided with the spear in Austin's hands.
"ACK!" Austin cried out, pain shooting through his arms, forcing him to let go of the spear.
Keng!
The spear fell to the ground, instantly melting the snow around it.
But what mattered most was that the Orc King still gripped his club firmly. Using the momentum, he spun around and brought the club crashing down toward Austin's head.
In the moment between life and death, Austin's adrenaline surged.
He instantly raised the arm forged from Void energy, and then—
BAM!
Another impact rang out as the metal fragments surrounding that arm shattered and scattered across the ground.
"Damn it!" Austin gritted his teeth against the pain and tried to retreat.
However, there was no way his speed could match the Orc King's.
The Orc King reached out and precisely grabbed Austin's neck, lifting him high in the air like a helpless chicken.
"Not laughing now, kid?" the Orc King sneered.
"Bastard!" Austin felt himself suffocating, but still struggled desperately: "I'll—"
Smack!
"Huk!"
The Orc King's fist smashed into Austin's stomach, making him spit out a mouthful of blood.
He felt as though his stomach had been pulverized, the pain so excruciating he could hardly bear it, and his consciousness began to fade.
At this point, Garek walked up beside the Orc King and laughed: "Damn it! I told you not to kill him—he's nearly dead now."
"Master, it's because he's too weak. Just one punch and he's on the verge of dying. You can't blame me," the Orc King sighed, his voice filled with mockery.
Garek just snorted, then his gaze fixed hungrily on Austin's arm.
"Ah! This arm is truly beautiful—I really like it," Garek said, his voice thick with greed. "It's a waste for you to use such an arm."
"Let me put it to better use for you. Hahahahaha…"
