Chapter 301: Zeka vs Garek

The Orc King was startled, immediately letting go of the club.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

But countless other vines burst from the ground, chasing after him.

The Orc King used his tremendous speed to dodge, but there were simply too many vines—his leg was instantly ensnared by one of them.

And not just one; soon, countless vines shot toward him, wrapping him up tightly.

"Die!!!" Garek charged at Zeka, fist raised, punching straight at him.

BAM!

Zeka whipped out a vine to block Garek's punch.

As the vine coiled tightly around Garek's arm, something strange happened.

A bizarre wave pulsed from that arm, rippling outward.

The vine wrapped around Garek's arm suddenly began to vibrate at a terrifying frequency.

Though, to the naked eye, the vine appeared motionless, in reality, it was trembling at incredible speed, causing it to heat up and slowly turn to charcoal.

"What the hell?!" Zeka—or rather, Vinelord—was stunned by the sight.

He knew his vines, though susceptible to cold, had a durability that rivaled metal.

And yet they were quickly burnt to ash—without any visible flame, only those strange vibrating waves.

"Damn it!" Vinelord hurriedly severed the vine, not wanting it to harm Zeka's body.

Garek sneered, "I told you, you're just a worthless mutt. Using vines to kill me? You really make me laugh."

Vinelord frowned, his gaze fixed on Garek's arm, sensing that something wasn't right.

"That arm is…" Vinelord muttered, as if searching his memory for what that arm might be.

Of course, Garek wasn't about to give Vinelord a chance to regain his composure—he swung his arm again, punching toward Vinelord.

BAM!

The fist struck another vine, instantly shattering it.

Vinelord frowned and quickly retreated.

Garek took advantage of this opening, immediately rushing toward the Orc King and using his new arm to tear apart the vines binding him.

"Thank you, Master!" Freed from the vines, the Orc King bowed his head in gratitude.

"Stop talking and finish him off. I want that reward for myself."

"Master, you should be a bit careful, he—"

"Damn it! You talk too much," Garek snapped impatiently. "If you can't even beat a worthless mutt like him, do you really have the nerve to call yourself a rank C monster?"

The Orc King fell silent, bowing his head, though he also felt something was off.

Those vines were as hard as steel; even the Orc King found it difficult to resist them.

Yet Master had used that arm to tear them apart with ease.

That made him suspicious about the arm Master now possessed.

However, he had no time to ponder further. What he needed to do now was obey his Master's command.

He picked up the club from the snow, lowered his head, and said, "Yes, Master."

Garek glanced at Vinelord and sneered, "Trying to run?"

Vinelord frowned in anger. "Run?! You're the one who should be running."

"Hahahaha… let's see how long you can keep talking."

BAM! BAM!

The Orc King and Garek both charged forward, and Vinelord didn't back down, rushing at them as well.

The battle erupted, trees all around being smashed to pieces, snow spraying everywhere.

Off in the distance, Caleb, Austin, and Alex could sense that something was happening.

Caleb frowned and said, "Alex, go check out what's going on."

Alex retorted irritably, "I'm not your subordinate."

But even as he said it, Alex leapt onto a high branch, moving swiftly toward the source of the crashing sounds.

A moment later, he returned, grinning. "Do you guys know what I just saw?"

Austin and Caleb both scowled at him. Alex scratched his head and laughed, "Alright, I saw the Evil God fighting with a Lord."

"But… both of them are really strange."

"Hm?!" Caleb frowned, "Strange how?"

"Well…" Alex hesitated, for though he was a martial arts genius, there were many things about the world of magic he didn't understand, so he couldn't explain what he'd just seen.

Caleb saw Alex hesitate and just sighed, "Let's go. We'll take a look ourselves."

Austin spoke up, "Oy! Is it safe for us to just go over there like this?"

Alex smirked contemptuously, "Huh! If you're scared, you can stay here."

"Damn it!" Austin shouted. "You saying I'm scared?"

"That's right! You're as cowardly as a dog," Alex yelled back.

"Enough!" Caleb sighed. "Can you two just be quiet for a minute? Always arguing like children. What would you do if Master found out?"

At Caleb's words, Alex and Austin both fell silent, though they shot sidelong looks at each other, lips curled in open disdain.

Caleb could only cradle his head, feeling a splitting headache from having to manage these two.

It felt like babysitting—and if he could choose again, he definitely wouldn't let these two follow him.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

The fight raged on fiercely, destroying the entire surrounding area. Snow flew everywhere, and many trees were snapped in half.

"Wow! Is that the Evil God?" Austin sat on a high branch more than two hundred meters from the battlefield.

"That's right!" Alex folded his arms, sitting next to Austin, and said contemptuously, "I ran into him once before, but he wasn't my match, so he ran away."

"Huh! If you're going to lie, at least make it believable," Austin laughed. "I get the feeling the one who ran away was actually you."

"Damn it! You think everyone is as weak as you?"

"If you've got the guts, say that one more time."

Caleb sat beside them and sighed, so tired he didn't even want to stop their bickering anymore.

Since he was just an ordinary person, he couldn't see as far as Alex or Austin.

But just hearing the explosive sounds, and seeing shadowy figures clashing and separating, then crashing together again, over and over, was enough for him to imagine just how fierce the battle was.

"It seems… the only weakling here is me,"

Caleb muttered.

Austin had been granted new strength by Master and could now defeat a D-rank monster.

Alex had some strange ability, able to absorb energy crystals to grow stronger.

Now, watching the distant battle, Caleb felt an overwhelming sense of despair.

But very quickly, he shoved that despair aside.

After all, Master had already given him a chance to prove himself. As long as he performed well, he could obtain power like Austin's.

Then, he would have his revenge—he could make those who looked down on him, those who caused his mother's agonizing death, pay for it.

"Ah! It looks like the fight is almost over," Austin gazed into the distance, frowning.

At that moment, three shadowy figures collided—and then—

BAM!

A thunderous explosion erupted, a shockwave like a violent storm sweeping out in all directions, sending snow and debris flying in total chaos.

Snow and dust blanketed a radius of a hundred meters. Even Austin and Alex, frowning, couldn't see a thing.

Suddenly, a dark figure bolted out from the swirling snow, fleeing into the distance.

"That's… the Evil God," Alex said with a frown.

Austin quickly got to his feet, grinning: "Look at him, he's badly wounded. This might be our chance."

Alex laughed: "Our chance? No, it's my chance."

Alex gritted his teeth and glared. "You think you can defeat the Evil God? Please. Just don't get in my way later."

"You…"

"Enough!" Caleb suddenly interjected. "We're not going to kill him."

"What?!" Both Alex and Austin were startled by Caleb's decision, looking at him in confusion, as if waiting for an explanation.

Caleb sighed and said, "The smartest thing we can do is report this to Master."

"Master is the one who should receive the reward for destroying the Evil God."
