Konoha: Naruto's abnormal life choices

Chapter 129: Chapter 129

Daimyo's Mansion – Main Hall

Following the memorial prayer for Ebisu, Naruto Uzumaki ordered the Konoha shinobi to search the entire Daimyo's mansion and detain everyone within its walls. Servants, concubines, the daimyo's wives, and children were all gathered into the grand hall.

Perhaps it was the pent-up rage from Ebisu's death, or just the cold discipline of battle-hardened shinobi, but the capture process had been... less than gentle.

Now they all stood, trembling, silent, afraid even to lift their heads—none dared meet Naruto's gaze.

Naruto, relaxed on the dais, silently browsed through the mission objectives in his spiritual space, taking a moment to consider his options.

The first task—forcing the daimyo to kneel, apologize, and agree to triple Konoha's funding and grain—had already been completed. The reward of 10 million ryō was safely tucked into his spiritual vault.

Only three options remained. Naruto instantly dismissed the last—massacring the Fire Nation—as too extreme and unnecessary.

That left options two and three, both revolving around the daimyo:

Option 2 – Rational Handling: Beat the daimyo up, assert dominance, and make him serve Konoha loyally.

Reward: 1% Control over the Nine-Tails.

Option 3 – Ruthless Maneuvering: Take control of the daimyo. Rule from the shadows.

Reward: Talent – "Wei Wu Style": Those with spouses are less likely to reject you.

Naruto's eyes narrowed slightly in thought. Nine-Tails control… and a new talent. Not bad at all.

But the key problem?

The daimyo was dead.

Just then, shinobi from the search squads began to return.

"Report! No sign of the daimyo in the south," Rock Lee shouted, dashing into the hall.

"Nothing in the east," added another Chūnin.

"West is clear," Sasuke said, entering quietly, his eyes still rimmed red.

Naruto grunted softly. The man turned to ash—finding him now would be a miracle.

Hyūga Neji was the last to arrive, dragging with him a bruised, battered young man.

"We didn't find the daimyo," Neji said, throwing the prisoner down like a sack of potatoes, "but we did catch his son."

The man on the floor was in his early twenties, his swollen face barely recognizable. Judging by the beatings he'd received, the shinobi had not held back.

Naruto tilted his head. "This is the daimyo's son?"

Neji nodded. "Name's Enichikyuu. Self-proclaimed eldest son. If this attack hadn't happened, he'd probably be the next daimyo."

A prince, huh?

Naruto stared at the prince's broken, pathetic figure and suddenly had a bold idea.

What if I made him the new daimyo?

Maybe I can still trigger options two and three.

It was worth a try.

He stepped down from the dais and approached the prince, his tone sharp.

"Stand up."

Enichikyuu obeyed without hesitation. On the journey here, he'd been thoroughly beaten. Once proud, now he was docile under the weight of fear. He didn't dare defy Naruto Uzumaki.

Neji added with a grin, "We caught him in one of the daimyo's wives' bedrooms. He was... naked. We gave him time to dress."

The hall erupted in laughter. The tension finally broke.

"The inner workings of the Daimyo's house are more twisted than I imagined."

"Man, your whole family's circle is wild."

Naruto raised an eyebrow, shocked. "So you were just... what, visiting?"

"I—I fell into the flower bed," Enichikyuu stammered, face flushed, "and my clothes got soaked. That was the closest room with spare garments!"

"Sure," Naruto said flatly, clearly unconvinced. "Anyway, I have a question."

He leaned in. "Do you want to be the daimyo?"

"I—I wouldn't dare!" Enichikyuu cried, instantly falling to his knees. "I swear I want no revenge! Please, just let me live!"

Naruto kicked him hard in the ribs. "Your father attacked Konoha and you only care about surviving? Lying to me, are you?"

"No! I swear I knew nothing of it! If I had known, I would've stopped that fool! He was a mere firefly, trying to outshine the sun. He deserved to die!"

Naruto's expression eased. At least this one has brains.

"Fine," Naruto said, lifting him to his feet. "You'll be daimyo now. You're the legitimate heir anyway."

The hall fell silent.

Gasps of disbelief rippled through both Konoha shinobi and the former palace residents. The man who'd just tried to destroy Konoha—his son would now inherit the throne?

But Naruto's face was serious. Unshaken.

This wasn't about personal emotion. This was about strategy.

They needed someone to handle logistics—money, food, supplies. The front lines couldn't survive on good intentions. The new daimyo would serve his purpose until the Hokage decided otherwise.

Neji quickly caught on.

"Captain," he said, bowing, "please assign me to monitor the new daimyo. If he dares disobey, I'll make sure he regrets it."

Rock Lee and several others echoed the sentiment, eager to serve.

Naruto blinked. I didn't even explain anything yet. How did they all get the point?

He glanced at Sasuke, who looked totally confused.

Ah, forget it.

Enichikyuu bowed deeply. "I accept your order, my lord. I will do as Konoha commands."

And so, backed by Konoha's presence, Enichikyuu was hastily crowned the new daimyo. Bureaucratic formalities were cut, and local officials were "convinced" (with a kunai to the neck) to support the appointment.

In official records, the previous daimyo was said to have died suddenly. The new one inherited the throne naturally.

Edicts were issued across the Fire Nation: the new daimyo supported Konoha fully, and all towns must contribute food and coin to the war effort.

At Naruto's command, Konoha shinobi sealed off the capital. No one in or out. The reason? "To guard against enemy invasion."

Once order was restored, Naruto sent a report to Tsunade, requesting higher-level shinobi to assist in overseeing the main city.

📢 [Ding! Choice 3 complete. Talent: Wei Wu Style has been equipped.]

Night fell. The main city was calm. A thousand shinobi guarded the gates, but only two hundred remained inside. The rest had been sent to manage outer defenses.

That left Naruto to watch over the daimyo's mansion personally.

That Night – Daimyo's Living Quarters

"Lord Naruto, it's an honor beyond words to drink with you tonight."

Enichikyuu sat beside him, pouring sake with a trembling hand. His tone was submissive, overly respectful.

Around them danced several women in colorful silk dresses, their movements slow, graceful, sensual.

Naruto scanned the room, disgusted.

"This is how you serve as daimyo? Lavish parties, dancers, wine? Aren't you ashamed?"

Enichikyuu blanched. Did I misread him? He doesn't like dancers?!

"I—I'll send them away immediately!"

"No," Naruto cut in sharply, frowning. "You're the daimyo, not me. You think this is indulgence. I think it's being a man. Understand?"

Without waiting, he stood up and pulled the two most beautiful women into his arms. Then he signaled for the others—two to massage his shoulders, two to rub his legs.

All for him.

Enichikyuu forced a smile. "Ah, you're wise beyond your years, my lord!"

"I shall study your words carefully. For the sake of the Fire Nation, I will bear this... extravagance!"

With that, he exited swiftly, looking determined and vaguely terrified.

Naruto just sighed.

This guy... I can't even get mad at him properly.

Originally, Naruto planned to beat him up to fulfill option two. But the guy was so pitiful, so obedient—it almost felt wrong.

When the door shut, Naruto sank into the pillows with his dancers, soaking in the luxury.

"Another drink, my lord?"

"Come now, let me pour."

"If you feel sick, I'll catch your vomit," one giggled.

Six women—half-clothed, soft-skinned, perfumed. He was completely pampered.

The two in his arms were particularly striking. Naruto asked lazily, "So, what did you two do before? Always dancers in the daimyo's house?"

They giggled.

"We're not dancers."

Naruto blinked. "Not dancers? Don't tell me—you're princesses?"

The one on the left leaned in, heart pounding inexplicably. "Princesses are all married off already, my lord."

"Then… who are you?"

They both answered at once, teasing:

"You know the answer already."

"I'm the former daimyo's wife."

"I'm the current daimyo's wife."

Naruto froze.

...What?

Yuan Ichikyu... that bastard. He actually sent both his mother's and his own wife to Naruto?

Naruto blinked again, silently gasping.

This guy is out of his mind.

Sure, Naruto had his private desires, but he'd never told Enichikyuu anything. And this is what he arranged?

Maybe he was trying to imitate ancient kings. Or maybe he just feared Naruto that much.

Whatever. Naruto grinned.

He relaxed into the cushions, embraced both women tightly, and allowed himself to enjoy the night fully.
