Konoha: Naruto's abnormal life choices

Chapter 127: Chapter 127

"Is this really the Great Ninja Village? Are those even real ninjas?"

"Captain Asuma wasn't this strong before..."

"We need to run. Escaping is the only option now!"

"Run! Now!"

With the power of the Nine-Tails, Naruto's five senses—and even his sixth sense—had long surpassed human limits.

So the frightened whispers of the remaining five guardian ninja easily reached his ears, making him laugh with delight.

"Run? You think you can get away?"

The gap between a Chunin and a Special Jonin wasn't that big—but the gap between Jonin could be like an uncrossable canyon.

These few small fish wanted to escape?

Foolish.

Blind to reality, the guardian ninja bolted toward the gates of the Daimyo's Mansion. Naruto and Sasuke immediately gave chase.

Sasuke's Susanoo loomed behind him like a demon god—no longer just skeletal, but now covered in muscle and armor that resembled clothing.

He raised a massive, ethereal purple bow, conjured from thin air, and drew it back.

With a high-pitched whistle, the glowing arrow tore through the air and pierced through one fleeing ninja.

Five became four.

"Scatter! Avoid the Uchiha!"

"Run in different directions!"

"He's using ranged attacks! Don't stay together!"

They finally recognized Sasuke's heritage. The Uchiha clan—known for terrifying power.

Panic-stricken, the remaining four scattered in all directions.

But the next second, Naruto was already behind one of them. He wielded the blade he'd taken from the fallen sword-wielding ninja, and with a series of clean slashes, separated body from head.

A particular pattern emerged—Naruto seemed to prefer decapitation, either with kunai or long sword.

The remaining guardian ninja, all ranked Jonin by the standards of the Land of Fire, were filled with terror.

The enemies from Konoha were simply too fast, too powerful.

They were completely out of their league.

If I'd known we'd be facing monsters like these, I never would've agreed to protect the daimyo.

Sure, it pays well—but you need to be alive to enjoy the money.

As that thought crossed one's mind, another of their comrades fell.

Same death. Same brutal precision.

Only two remained.

One of them, realizing escape was impossible, clenched his teeth and turned to face Naruto head-on.

Naruto, already close, raised his blade—ready to strike.

"Earth Style: Earth Flow Rampart!"

At the critical moment, the ninja formed seals and raised an earthen wall to obscure Naruto's vision.

Then, he quickly followed up with his specialty:

"Earth Style: Fist of Stone!"

Rock encased his fists, thick and solid. Though not a high-level jutsu, it was a technique he had perfected.

Not every ninja possessed abundant chakra. Many chose a single offensive jutsu and honed it to mastery.

With fists hardened by earth, he smashed toward the wall.

If Naruto's behind the wall, he'll feel the full force. If he's not, I can drop the wall and keep moving.

It seemed foolproof—at least in theory.

But as his fists crashed through the earth wall…

Naruto wasn't there.

"What?!"

The Earth-Style ninja gasped, cold sweat pouring down his back.

"Too slow."

The young voice sent a chill down his spine. Instinctively, he raised his stone-covered arms to block.

But Naruto's blade was already descending.

The first impact clashed with his rocky fists and halted—briefly.

Then a red chakra shimmered over the blade's edge. It sliced through the stone, through his wrists, and swept cleanly across his neck.

The ninja stared in shock as blood sprayed.

Naruto calmly stepped back and sheathed the sword.

Another body fell.

"Please, call me Uzumaki Kenshin."

Blood erupted behind him like a fountain as Naruto turned and continued toward the last guardian ninja.

"Naruto! Hey, leave one for me!" Sasuke yelled, catching up.

"You always rely on your eyes. Might be better if you ease up." Naruto advanced, showing no signs of slowing.

Sasuke raised an eyebrow but kept pace. "My eyes are fine."

He casually wiped the blood from his eyelids.

"It did hurt earlier when I used my pupil technique—but the chakra from the Demonic Seal repaired the damage. Once the seal's energy flowed in, the pain vanished."

...???

Naruto blinked, confused.

What the hell?

The Demonic Seal can repair ocular damage now? That's busted.

But thinking further—Orochimaru had found ways to restore entire souls. Maybe repairing eyes wasn't so shocking after all.

So... is this like an alternative Eternal Mangekyō?

"Insane. Absolutely insane," Naruto muttered.

He actually considered casting the demon seal on himself.

That regeneration is ridiculous.

But he shook his head.

"Forget it. I've got the Nine-Tails. Might not be as potent, but still seems wasteful to use it on myself."

"Besides, the Demonic Seal is best for controlling others."

While Naruto was lost in thought, the final guardian ninja watched both young men close in on him from opposite sides.

No way out.

He reached slowly for the tool pouch on his waist and sighed.

Is this how it ends?

"What's he reaching for?" Naruto narrowed his eyes.

"Watch him," Sasuke warned.

But instead of pulling a weapon, the ninja suddenly tossed the pouch aside, dropped to his knees, and kowtowed—three times.

Even split his forehead open.

"My lords, please spare my life! I have an eighty-year-old mother and a three-year-old daughter! I never wanted to work for the daimyo—it was just a job! Please, have mercy!"

Naruto: "…"

Sasuke: "…"

Snow drifted gently through the sky as the defeated ninja knelt, covered in mud.

Seriously?

They had both assumed he was prepping a surprise attack.

Instead—he surrendered, dramatically.

Sasuke frowned.

He looks about 25... okay, a three-year-old daughter is believable. But an eighty-year-old mother?

Sasuke didn't buy it. He prepared to kill the groveling man—

But Naruto suddenly burst into laughter, clapping in amusement.

"Haha! Brilliant, absolutely brilliant!"

Naruto grinned. "A man who understands the times is a true hero. I respect men like you."

Sasuke stared. "How is kneeling and begging heroic?"

The guardian ninja, sensing his chance slipping, turned and kowtowed again—this time to Sasuke.

"Please, great hero, spare me!"

He clearly had no idea who was in charge—only that both could kill him instantly.

He bowed to whoever looked angrier.

"Hehe…"

Naruto chuckled and motioned for Sasuke to stand down. He stepped closer to the ninja and nodded.

"You want to live? Fine. But I'll need a favor."

"Tsk." Sasuke backed off. He didn't understand Naruto's angle, but followed along.

Because, well—he couldn't beat Naruto. And he wasn't ready to lose face after just showing off.

The guardian ninja's eyes lit up. "Whatever you need, sir! I'll risk my life for you!"

"How enthusiastic," Naruto sighed.

The ninja slapped himself. "Forgive me, sir! Just tell me what you need!"

Naruto leaned in slightly.

"You remember, right? Three of us entered the Daimyo's mansion earlier."

The guardian ninja nodded quickly. "Yes! I remember!"

"Good."

Naruto turned to the wrecked remains of the reception hall.

"My request is simple. Just one task. You should be able to handle it."

"Go back. Kill the one who didn't follow me. He's not that strong—just a Special Jonin. Can you do that?"

...Huh???

Both the guardian ninja and Sasuke stared, dumbfounded.

Then the ninja caught on.

The guy with sunglasses didn't follow. Clearly, he's not aligned with Naruto and Sasuke. They must be worried he'll report back to Konoha.

Even if they're powerful, there'd be consequences.

That makes sense.

And if I say no—I'll die here for sure.

If that guy's really only a Special Jonin... maybe I can do it.

The guardian ninja rose and bowed deeply.

"Sir, leave it to me!"

"Great." Naruto stepped aside to let him pass. The man turned back the way he came—without hesitation.

Naruto smiled as he watched him go.

"Perfect. One less thing I have to do."

Sorry, Ebisu.

I don't want to break ties with Konoha just yet.

So to cover up what Sasuke and I did today...

I need you to die.
