Chapter 36: Questionable Friends
"What do you need so many weapons for?" A rich and velvety voice echoed across a marbled room. It sounded a little husky, exuding magnetic charm.
At this time, the owner of the voice was lounging about on an exquisite upholstery. He was smiling in mockery as he listened to the person on the other line.
The person then added, voice with a twinge of laughter into it. "By any chance, are you going to use your star status to lead a coup?"
He sat up a little from his seat, resting his handsomely-shaped chin on his copper-colored hand.
The wind blew the silk curtain to the interior of the room. If there was someone outside the balcony, they would be able to see the owner of the voice clearly.
It was a very good-looking man with golden locks, now perched gracefully on his intricate-looking chaise lounge.
He was wearing a loose silk polo with half its buttons opened, revealing the gorgeous coffee-colored body underneath.
This man had a languid posture, exuding seductive charm. As he spoke to his old friend, his eyes were overlooking his lush garden with who-knew-how-many-corpses underneath.
He laughed at the answer on the other end. "It's for a play? Don't make me question your intelligence, Kaize."
On the other end of the line, Kaize rubbed his temple as he sat on the sofa in a bit of a tense posture.
He forgot this bastard had a sharp mind and an even sharper tongue.
"So can you get them for me or not?" He just retorted, annoyed.
There was a momentary silence on the other end. "Hmm, so you let me summarize:
"You need a dozen handguns, twenty shotguns, twenty semi-automatic rifles, thirty bolt-action rifles, fifty assault rifles, and five submachine guns? And what's this? Two bazookas and ten grenades?"
The blonde chuckled, "For a play, right?"
Then, he added, "Oh, the bullets should last ten years of war. I forgot about that."
Kaize's eyes twitched.
Well, when he enumerated it like that….
"Yes." He just said with gritted teeth.
In fact, he wanted more powerful ones.
Khalifa said that weapons would eventually be useless against zombies.
When the supernatural humans awaken, there would also be similar zombies. These zombies would have very hard bodies and quick speeds.
Only bazookas and bombs would have any use, but how many of those could they procure and store?
The current orders were already heavy on his net worth. And he still needed some money to buy suitable property to set up a base.
More importantly, even if he was rich, he wasn't so filthy rich that he could afford a lot of those weapons.
"I'll send you the bill." He said, "There's a premium since you're rushing so much~"
"Don't make me question our friendship!"
But, he had to get this deal, no matter what.
He didn't want to embarrass himself in front of his Khalifa, who was taking a nap from their all-nighter.
"Then… give me terms! I'll pay you in full after… 2 months!"
"That's a very specific date." The playful voice echoed on the other line. "You're not planning on bailing on me, are you?"
Kaize's eyes twitched. It wasn't that he didn't want to warn this guy, but he might not allow for terms. The plan was to get the weapons, and then warn him.
He cleared his throat.
"I'll tell you more in the future, just prepare the guns for me."
"Really?"
"Yes, really."
"Tsk, fine." The other person said after a pause, "You owe me."

After the phone was hung up, the relaxed blonde stretched his arms, before looking at his phone screen again.
"Tsk, finally done~"
He said, clicking on an icon and loaded the video he had been watching when the damned bastard interrupted him.
He couldn't count how many times he had watched the videos.
"Why hadn't she posted any new videos?" He asked, annoyed, but not before replaying the videos on loop for the nth time.
He looked at the beautiful woman singing in her pitiful living area, a little obsessed.
His light-colored eyes traced every inch of her, every curve and every feature, as if touching her with his own hands.
He could imagine that wonderful melodious voice calling his name in the heat of passion.
The fantasy alone helped him get off a number of times.
If the country's laws on digital privacy weren't so great, he'd have stalked the woman ages ago.
For now, he could only increase his sense of presence in front of her, hoping it'd catch her attention.
[Reward +10 Airplanes]
[Reward +10 Ships]
[Reward +10 Rockets]
The notifications woke the woman lightly sleeping on the bed.
She stretched her shapely body, before rummaging the nearby surface for her phone.
She was surprised at the amount of money that went to her account while sleeping.
More interestingly, it was from a fan named KaizeCantSing.
She couldn't help but chuckle, beautiful eyes staring at the username. "So amusing."
However, she was also a bit guilty as she really wasn't planning on posting videos anymore, so he didn't have to reward her anymore.
She privately messaged him in thanks, but told him she wouldn't be creating videos anymore.
[But I love your videos! I love your voice! Can we meet? I promise I am a very good fan.]
She rejected, of course. However, she did offer to record a private song for him.
[I'm sad, but it is better than nothing. Then can you please sing 'you make me hot' by Artist X?]
Khalifa: "..."
However, she still decided to sing it in the end for him. The amount he paid was really not small.
She searched for the tune and the lyrics, and her eyes twitched.
But she was mostly amused. She opened the recorder of her phone, and sang the tune acapella.
She then sent it to him, not bothering to read his replies.
At this time, the door opened, revealing the handsome Kaize, who was smiling at the sight of her awake.
"What are you shaking your head for?" He asked with an interested face, wrapping an arm around the newly awakened woman.
She remembered the person's username and chuckled, but she did not say.
She only twisted her body to kiss him on the cheek.
"I, too, made a questionable friend." She said, "Though he didn't seem to like you very much…"
She showed him their chatroom.
It wasn't even the name that bothered him, but the content of their chat.
"What if he's a disgusting old fat guy? Still amusing?"
This made Khalifa freeze, really not finding it amusing anymore.
(( Fat-old-Hugo: "..." I was wronged! ))
