In the 20th Ward, Touka was wearing her waitress uniform, carefully wiping the tabletop with a cloth.

There was still a bandage on her hand, clearly, the injury previously caused by Jotaro had yet to heal.

Sighing helplessly, she suddenly froze, only to see that the customers who had been quietly drinking coffee all stood up and hurriedly ran out.

"Huh?"

Staring at their panicked backs as they fled, Touka was puzzled. Suddenly, from the corner of her eye, she caught sight of a figure appearing downstairs, and instantly understood.

Jotaro pushed open the door, walking in with brisk steps, and said faintly, "The usual."

Sitting at the innermost seat, once Touka brought over the coffee, Jotaro looked at her and said, "You sit too. I have a few questions to ask you."

His tone was calm as always, but it allowed no room for refusal.

Touka obediently sat opposite him. After witnessing Jotaro's methods, she had lost any thought of resistance.

Even SS-rated ghouls weren't his match, even if she were at her peak, she'd be killed in an instant.

"First-Class Investigator Kujo, what wind blew you in today? Don't tell me you're here to send me off to Cochlea too?" Touka mocked coldly.

She never showed a pleasant face to the Doves, and even though she knew Jotaro's attitude toward ghouls, bearing this identity herself still made her uncomfortable.

Jotaro sipped his coffee and said, "That depends on how you behave, the choice is in your hands."

He took out his notebook from his pocket and flipped it open, "How much do you know about that woman, Rize?"

Jotaro raised his head, his deep light-green eyes staring straight at Touka, and asked in a serious tone, "You should know that the ghoul I detained is Rize. Recently, she has disappeared."

"To be exact, she was rescued."

Touka was made uneasy by his stare. "You're not suspecting me, are you?"

Jotaro closed his eyes and replied truthfully, "At first, I did suspect you. But after thinking some things through, I believe you wouldn't do something like that."

"You only need to answer two questions."

He asked each word slowly and clearly, "Did you tell anyone about this?"

Touka shook her head. She had kept what happened that night entirely to herself and hadn't told her companions in the 20th Ward.

Likewise, she hadn't shared information about the Ward with Jotaro and the others.

Shinobu Kochou and others were conducting research beneficial to ghouls, she knew this, but due to past experiences, she didn't fully trust them.

Her own life didn't matter, but she didn't want her companions to fall into danger because of her.

She wasn't sure exactly how strong Jotaro was, but her instincts told her this man was very dangerous.

That kind of calmness in the face of catastrophe, and the oppressive aura he sometimes unintentionally emitted…

Sometimes, she got the illusion that he wasn't a human, but a monster.

Jotaro's gaze swept across Touka's face, then he asked, "Back to the original question. How much do you know about that woman, Rize?"

"According to my investigation, she didn't operate in the 20th Ward in the past. Do you know anything about her friends or family?"

Touka sighed, "I'm not familiar with that woman either. Friends or family or whatever, who knows."

Jotaro closed his notebook and stood up, "I understand."

Touka asked in surprise, "You're not asking anything else?"

She hadn't provided any useful information, she thought he'd be angry. But Jotaro's expression remained unchanged, as if he had intended to leave from the start.

"No need."

He tucked the notebook back into his coat and casually put both hands into his pants pockets.

He had never intended to get any useful intel from Touka.

He was using the process of elimination, by removing factors unrelated to Rize, the truth would gradually emerge.

The bell on the door jingled clearly. As the wooden door was gradually pushed open, a tall and a short figure slowly appeared.

"Miss Ryouko… Hinami!"

From the reflection in the glass, Touka saw who it was and her face went pale with shock,

"Why at this time!"

She glanced at Jotaro, who was just about to leave, and felt totally at a loss.

'Miss Ryouko and Hinami were both wanted by the CCG. If this man discovered them, that would be way too dangerous!'

Would Jotaro make a move on them? She had absolutely no confidence in the answer.

Jotaro noticed Touka's face suddenly turn ghastly pale and asked, "What's wrong? You don't look so good."

Touka immediately stepped in front of him and forced a smile, "N-Nothing, I just ate some human food again recently."

Behind her back, she frantically gestured to the Fueguchi mother and daughter, signaling them to leave quickly.

"If you can't eat it, don't force yourself." Jotaro said impatiently. "Move aside, don't block my way."

The Fueguchi mother and daughter stood right at the entrance, looking around nervously. If Jotaro just turned around, he'd see them immediately.

Touka's back was already drenched in cold sweat. If Jotaro found them and made a move, no one could stop him.

The shop manager and the others weren't in the café right now.

Suddenly, she noticed the steaming coffee nearby and had a sudden flash of inspiration, "Why don't you sit a bit longer, your coffee isn't finished yet."

Jotaro looked back and sat down again. "I forgot, even though today's taste is a little different from usual, it shouldn't go to waste."

"Phew~" Touka secretly let out a breath of relief. She didn't expect him to be this frugal. But thankfully, she had managed to keep him seated.

"Then I'll go serve the customers up front." Leaving that sentence, Touka hurriedly walked away.

Upon seeing Touka, Ryouko's face showed a gentle smile, and she gave a slight bow. "Touka-chan, sorry to bother you. We…"

Touka gestured for silence and whispered, "Miss Ryouko, you'd better go back for today. The manager's not here, and there's a dangerous person inside."

Ryouko begged, "Touka-chan, I'm fine, but Hinami… she hasn't eaten in a long time."

Touka looked at Hinami's pale face, and then heard Jotaro moving inside, so she quickly said, "Wait in the alley behind the store. Once I get rid of this guy, I'll bring you some meat."

Not waiting for Ryouko's reply, Touka pushed them out the door.

After finishing his coffee, Jotaro didn't leave right away. Instead, he received a phone call from CCG Headquarters.

"Hello, is this First-Class Kujo?"

"Who is this?"

"This is Marude Itsuki, Special-Class Investigator at HQ and commander of this operation.

Please put down your current tasks and return to headquarters to stand by."
