Chapter 65: Akira
Right at that moment, in front of a house that could be said to be quite simple but enough for a family to live in, the sound of a couple of knocks could be heard coming from the front door, and this was because Rena was somewhat hasty as she banged on the wooden door with her hand.
"How strange, have they gone somewhere?" Rena had asked that question to herself, but Kurono had already reached her and could hear her, so he wanted to give her opinion.
"Maybe that's the case if no one answers, didn't they tell you they were going somewhere?"
"Not that I remember… Though maybe…" An idea had come to Rena's mind, but before she could say anything else, she fell silent as she heard the sound of footsteps approaching from the other side of the door.
It wasn't long before the front door was indeed opened revealing a person who was unknown to Kurono, but that wasn't the case for Rena since, as she had been doing lately, she pounced on that person without respecting a bit of its personal space.
The new person quickly noticed Rena's action, and after carefully catching her, besides the sudden surprise of that moment, everything was quite clear, although that didn't prevent a small sigh from being heard.
"Sigh... Is it too much to ask that you be a little more careful, Rena?" A loud and clear voice had come out from that person.
With a little help from the evening light, Kurono was able to see the features of that person, and it was actually a woman who didn't seem to be too far from her age, although this couldn't really be told by simple view.
She was quite tall, Kurono felt that he could compare her to Kazumi's height only with that, her delicate features highlighted her attractiveness, plus anyone could tell that she was quite pretty.
Her long dark hair was pulled back into a ponytail possibly for comfort and her slightly green eyes were visible behind the glasses she wore, she was wearing a set of clothes comfortable enough since she was surely spending her free time in her own home, but that didn't really matter at the moment.
"Isn't this supposed to be the time when you're happy to see me, Akira-nee?" Rena hadn't set that woman who apparently had the name of Akira free.
Just with that, a memory appeared in Kurono's mind and he quickly knew that this woman was Akio's older sister.
"Of course I'm happy, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I can worry about you and my nephew." Akira adjusted her glasses a bit before looking at Rena seriously, and that had been enough for Rena to let go of her and start to apologize subconsciously.
Kurono could tell that it was a bit of a new experience seeing Rena act obediently, although that same scene wouldn't last long. Akira wanted to keep reminding Rena of all the precautions she was currently thinking of and then start catching up on all the things that needed to be said, but before she could do that, her gaze focused behind her, and In particular, she focused on the figure of Kurono who was a short distance from them.
"Ah..." Akira seemed speechless for a bit, but this didn't go unnoticed by Rena, plus it didn't take her long to figure out what was going on.
"Hmm... Did you fall in love, Akira-nee?" But unlike the situation where Rena introduced the two of them, she came out with that question that caused a deep silence to take over the place.
"What the hell are you saying?!" And contrary to Akira's calm demeanor before, anyone could tell the nervousness he was experiencing, plus his face was a little red, though it was probably because of the anger she was feeling.
"Sorry, sorry! It was a joke!" Rena realized that this little joke hadn't been a good idea, so she didn't take long to apologize before putting the games aside, but Kurono wanted to intervene before something else came up that could cause a misunderstanding.
"Nice to meet you, Rena is just having fun. My name is Kurosawa Kurono." Kurono introduced himself making it clear that he knew Rena.
"Of course she does, ever since she was a child she acts like that…" Akira was complaining a bit about Rena's behavior but remembered that Kurono had just introduced herself "I-It's nice to meet you, Kurosawa-san. My name is Tanaka Akira."
"It's fine if you don't refer to me formally, I think our ages don't differ much, Akira-san." Kurono quickly specified that since he felt something unnecessary to act so seriously.
"Then excuse me, Kurono-san." Akira accepted Kurono's suggestion since it didn't bother her either, although a new thought quickly appeared in her mind and he looked in Rena's direction for an explanation.
"Well… I guess Kurono-san is mom's boyfriend." Rena had given it some thought, but she couldn't think of a better way to say it.
"Nee-san's partner?" That little revelation had generated a lot of surprise in Akira, and she had unconsciously turned her gaze from her to Kurono.
"Yes, Shizune and I are in a relationship, it seems that you are somewhat close, isn't it?" Just by listening to the way Akira referred to Shizune, Kurono was able to pick up on those little details, so he also wanted to make what Rena said clear.
"Anyway, it seems like mom didn't say anything yet if you didn't know, by the way, are you home alone, Akira-nee?" Rena asked that question as she wanted to know if her mother and grandmother had come here.
"Right now, yes. Mom, Nee-san, and Kyoko-san went out and haven't come back "Akira said what was on his mind, but he also realized that something important" We shouldn't be out here anymore, please come in "
Rena gladly accepted the invitation since she didn't want to be outside when the cold will take over the surroundings, Kurono also came in thanking her for the small hospitality, he would like to know where exactly Shizune was, and one of the reasons was because he cared about her, maybe they weren't in the city where there was danger everywhere, but it was enough to make him feel a little uneasy, although later he would understand that he had worried in vain.
