Chapter 53: Do I know you?
"Aww! I already missed this clean air." Rena she was stretching as she took a deep breath, she had just gotten off the train and her feet were now touching the floor of the station.
That air that she could differentiate from the city now filled her completely making her feel a strange relaxation and happiness. Even though she was now at the train station, the view beyond that place was covered by the green of nature resting under the huge blue sky.
The traces of civilization were still very much present in the surroundings, but it was a totally different image than what Rena had already gotten used to being in the city. She was starting to get emotional and maybe she would start to leave on her own, but she remembered at that moment that she wasn't alone at the moment.
Behind her, Akio was getting down from the train carriage as a rather familiar scene could be seen as he was carrying a large amount of luggage with him that surely belonged to Rena, and right behind him, another pair of figures could be seen exiting the train as well.
Just like Rena, Shizune experienced the same that her, it had been several months since she had gone with Rena to the city, so seeing the surroundings, a small smile formed on her face as she saw the happy attitude of Rena.
Even though Shizune had stopped, he quickly felt her hand being taken by Kurono, he could tell that she was a bit restless, so that was the best thing that he thinks at that moment. Shizune could guess Kurono's intention, but she only held his hand tighter as she filled with the determination she needed.
…
In short, the trip to Shizune's hometown was decided that day Akio discussed the plan he had in mind, plus Kurono accompanied them on this trip as well. Rena only conveyed excitement and happiness during the train ride, Akio was also happy to see her that way, but even though Shizune also felt that way, she was lost in her own thoughts.
There were some things that she was worried about, but especially, she was worried about Kurono, besides an important aspect was that… In all this time, she had never told her parents about Kurono.
Shizune told Kurono all this so he wouldn't worry about the nervousness she would probably show during the trip, she had also planned to call them to do it while she was still in the city, but Kurono didn't allow her to do that telling her that it would be better to do it in person.
Kurono didn't care too much about the fact that Shizune hadn't talked about him yet, in fact, he felt that it was even better for him, although he couldn't help but admit that he felt nervous about everything the trip had in store for him, especially for the fact that he would meet Shizune's parents...
In the end, the trip continued without problems, everyone enjoyed the landscapes they saw on the other side of the window and chatting with each other, the road took them a few hours, which made Kurono realize that his destination was far away from the city.
And now, the four of them were waiting for the transport that would take them precisely to Shizune's parents' house.
"I think it goes without saying, but does your family also live here, Akio-kun?" Kurono asked that question after remembering some talks they had, but he needed to confirm it personally.
"That's right, Kurosawa-san. I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear earlier." Akio rubbed his head remembering that important point, but he didn't try to say anything else once Kurono said an apology was not necessary.
"That's right, I have to visit my in-laws, I also really want to see Akira-nee." Rena's cheerful voice was present once again as she expressed the ideas that she had in mind.
"Sigh… I hope she's been distracted all this time with something or I'll suffer at Nee-san's hands." Akio showed a tired expression just from remembering a bit of the past and had a feeling it wouldn't be much different this time.
Kurono obviously didn't know whom they were talking about, but Shizune realized this and didn't hesitate to explain a bit.
"Akira is Akio's older sister, Kurono. She's also like she's an older sister to Rena… She's also only slightly younger than you." Shizune explained all that while she put one of her fingers under her chin thinking about Akira.
Kurono understood the situation and didn't ask any more questions, perhaps there would be an occasion in which he could meet her too, but everyone's attention was taken by the car that was parked on the side of the sidewalk and that seemed to be the taxi that had Akio requested earlier.
…
The trip hadn't been very long after that, even though the scenery was pretty normal for Akio, Shizune, and Rena, this wasn't the case for Kurono. He was appreciating everything since this kind of "vacation" rarely happened, he could see some simple houses as well as various not very flashy shops in what seemed to be the main area of the town.
He had to say that it was quite big actually, but what caught his attention the most were the Tanada (Terraced rice fields) used to grow large amounts of rice and which gave quite unique and beautiful views.
The little taxi had stopped once it reached the address Akio had given the driver, again it was Akio and Kurono's turn to take care of the luggage while Shizune helped Rena out.
Both of them were now staring at the building in front of them, and Rena couldn't control herself this time, she started advancing at a high speed that worried Shizune enough to go after her at full speed.
Akio saw this and was instinctively worried, but he didn't have to control himself once Kurono told him to go after them while he took care of everything. Akio apologized once he heard that and then followed exactly those directions, and walked through the huge door frame made of wood that both Rena and Shizune had entered through earlier.
Kurono saw all the work he had to do as well as gave the taxi driver one last thanks for his help. He did his best to be able to take the suitcases and bags that they brought with them to then followed in the footsteps of the others, and he opened the wooden door causing a new view to appear in front of him.
A huge house had appeared, which made him take a closer look at it before moving, but before he was completely lost in it, he noticed the figure not far from him and quickly approached.
"You changed your clothes very quickly." Kurono looked at Shizune carefully, although he felt somewhat strange. Unlike the set of clothes that she wore before, now she was wearing what many would identify as a kind of Kimono of white color, in her hands was a simple wooden broom as she was cleaning the small path that led to the front door of the house.
She clearly heard Kurono's words, but what she replied confused Kurono even more.
"Excuse me... Do I know you?"
