------------------------
As the Valkyrie approached the breach point, it began to reverse thrust, allowing it to hover inside the gap before leaving from the other side.
Before it stood the cultist defenders stationed at the breach.
Due to the Valkyrie's rapid breach speed, the defenders only shifted to alert status upon hearing the sounds of cannon fire outside, still unaware of when or from where the enemy would arrive or what exactly they were facing.
A wave of heated air, warmed through friction, made the ambient temperature feel as if it were rising, but as they readied their weapons, the barrels were strikingly cold.
As the steel behemoth, wrapped in turbulent air, shockwaves, and noise, entered the breeching point, the cultists reacted quickly enough to be just a step away from squeezing the triggers, but it was already too late.
From the mounted Rocket Pods, countless projectiles flew out. Rockets exploded and splintered, sending shards slicing effortlessly through flesh, tearing apart one cultist after another. Meanwhile, the Multi-Lasers precisely melted any heavy weapons that posed a threat.
Suddenly, the aircraft tilted slightly.
A beam from a laser cannon came in, grazing the Valkyrie as it blasted into the ranks of its allies. Equipped with sensors and cameras throughout its body, the Valkyrie had a full 360-degree view, easily evading attacks coming even from behind.
In that moment, the enemy's position erupted into flames, transforming into a canvas of abstract gore, while the Valkyrie adjusted its orientation after firing another respectable beam.
The cultists, seeing the now-empty Rocket Pods, breathed a slight sigh of relief.
But it became their last breath in this world.
What seemed to be an empty chamber belched forth flames once again, and a second wave of continuous explosions began as the Valkyrie unleashed an overwhelming firepower, clearing the breach point defenses that should have posed a lethal threat to infantry.
It wasn't that the cultists were lacking in defense; by standard measures, even if the enemy had managed to force a Valkyrie through the breach, under prepared conditions, there was enough time at such close range for the Meltagun Teams to take it down.
Normal maneuvers, hovering, turning, and attacking would require time—time enough for a typical Valkyrie to be overwhelmed by concentrated melta fire.
Unfortunately, what came was far more terrifying than a regular Valkyrie.
On the other side of the ship, the Chaos captain, facing the barrage of bad news—defensive networks breached, close-range defenses overwhelmed, and the breach point compromised—was becoming increasingly anxious. Finally, before the next piece of bad news could arrive, he received specific intel regarding the enemy force.
One Valkyrie assault transport.
He was enraged to the point of laughing.
A transport aircraft operating inside the atmosphere had penetrated the escort ship's defense network?
Unless it was written in black and white in front of him, he would have thought it was the result of some hallucinogenic excess.
He might as well have said that a red, blue, and white giant robot wielding a lightsaber flew in; at least the latter wouldn't sound as humiliating.
Of course, he would never question the authenticity of the intel.
As an array of emotions surged within him, he forcibly suppressed them. This inexplicable phenomenon warranted the highest level of attention—when anything beyond the ordinary occurred in this universe, it was best to be fully prepared.
Within the ship, in the area where Warp Ripples were most pronounced.
The barrier between the real universe and that side had become indistinct, transforming this place into a carnival for the daemons.
Dozens ofHedonites reveled in debauchery, their sinful acts, dissipating pure Warp energy, stirred the fragile barrier between the two universes, creating occasional flickers of pale pink energy waves.
A cultist wearing armor opened the door and entered this realm.
Although their true forms exhibited the traditional non-human characteristics of Warp entities, in the eyes of mortals,Hedonites manifested according to each observer's fetishized appearances, and if there were a group of them, the illusions might extend even to their movements and the surrounding scenes.
For instance, in the eyes of the cultist who stepped inside, the sound of the flayed victims hanging and pierced everywhere had become strings played by musicians, and the scattered remains were a carpet of blooming flowers. The blood pooled from countless hearts formed a fragrant "hot spring."
In that "hot spring," dozens of beautiful girls, whose beauty seemed too divine for this world, laughed and splashed around joyfully. Occasionally, they would come to the edge of the water or even pull exquisite fruits from the water to feed each other with rosy lips.
The juice that flowed from their mouths down their collarbones and into their cleavage appeared extremely tempting.
However, this cultist swallowed hard, reminding himself of his duties, and conveyed the captain's orders to the girls.
The girls, interrupted from their pleasure, didn't mind; instead, they enticingly invited him to join them in the "hot spring."
As a true believer, he couldn't resist in this moment and privately told himself he would only enjoy it briefly.
Moments later…
Dozens ofHedonites walked out from the partially open door, one with its neck neatly sliced open, the hollow cavity inside filled with various viscous liquids tossed aside by a Daemonette. Remarkably, that head appeared not yet dead; its eyes were vacant, and its tongue and teeth struggled to move, but it could say nothing.
Not only theHedonites, but the remaining cultists on the ship were also gathering around the breach, including a small number of Traitor Naval Boarding Teams soldiers wearing heavy armor—professionals in repelling boarders.
Constantly watching.
At the breach, the Valkyrie used its Multi-Lasers to snipe down a dozen cultists attempting to advance from the outer defenses toward the breach, establishing a firepower suppression deterrent before landing and opening its rear hatch.
Liquid began pouring out through the opening, and Zhang Ge, who had sequentially activated the safety mechanisms, had yet to realize the type of surprise scene he was about to face.
Amilia and High Canoness Heloise exited first to handle the area clearance, while the others formed a cautious formation before leaving the craft a short while later.
Outside, the area surrounding the breach was in chaos, with cultist bodies strewn everywhere. Many were so mangled that "scattered like jigsaw pieces" was the only apt description, and numerous hunks of melted metal could barely be recognized as artillery from Night Raid Group 694936135 that might have existed in their "lives."
With flames and smoke still lingering, there wasn't a single living soul visible; not even their imagined attackers could be seen, making the caution of this group slightly unnecessary.
Zhang Ge looked around; he couldn't see any other Valkyries or aircraft, nor could he spot any of their wreckage.
Had they all been lost? Indeed, he couldn't underestimate the ship's integrated anti-air network; he was just glad that his aircraft hadn't been taken down.
But that was fine; their sacrifices wouldn't be in vain. The more dangerous it was, the better; if I die, resurrecting a hundred or two hundred people is trivial.
With a smug satisfaction, Zhang Ge began leading the team toward the breach point.
