Introverts Lifeguide in Apocalypse

Chapter 24: Inside the Castle!

Looking at the enormous oak double door, I subconsciously stroked it. It was a work of art. There were ancient-looking words carved in circles all over them. In the middle of the right door was a dragon carved out of opal, while in the middle of the left was a red dragon carved out of ruby. Silver patterns adorn the right dragon, while golden patterns adorn the left dragon.

Coming to myself, I finally, with icy hands, pressed the key inside the lock. An unexpectedly modern lock, it even has a fingerprint option which, looking at the model, probably doesn't work anymore.

Click!

Unexpectedly, the key opened the lock. Honestly, I wasn't expecting it to be the villa. It is so huge, that only the ground should be 1000-quadrant meters. My grandfather's perspective of a 1000-quadrant meter villa.

Lucas's hopeful voice came from behind.

"Are you regretting? If so, let's immediately go back."

I can't go back now. I have spent too much to be backing down.

'God, please, it's not haunted!'

Pressing the cold metal handle, I pushed the door open. It was so dark inside that I could not see a thing. Determined, I took two steps inside, searching for my phone in my packets...

With my second step, the entire room illuminated on its own.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!"

"Shiiiiiiiiiit"

Thud!

Before my slow brain could send fear signals, it sent me pain signals. These two human bears had jumped on me from both sides and I fell on my knees...

"AUCH!!"

My anger added to depression, and anxiousness from my overdosage of coffee made me lose control. The next second, both were on the ground, holding their stomachs. Looking down at them, I frowned.

"What is the big deal? Have you two never seen a lighting control system? "

Well, if Grandfather hadn't included his updates to the house deed, I would have freaked out too! Honestly, I had freaked out... But thanks to them, my brain had the time to analyze and conclude things rationally.

I snapped two times.

Snap! Snap!

The lamps turned off. Snapping again, the room lightened.

Snap! Snap!

Then I shamelessly looked down at them, turning my head left and right while talking.

"Where is your pride as a man? Tsk. Tsk. Are your pants okay? Or do you need diapers?"

Both of them glared at me.

Feverish of either anger or shame.

A smile almost came to my mouth. Controlling myself, I held it back.

"Go bring the mattresses and changes for yourself!" I ordered them in a neutral tone.

Turning around, I analyzed the house.

"Beautiful floor made of white marble. "I said, trying to be positive, that Lucas crashed it.

"Yea!! And super ugly walls with granny wallpapers that look almost a hundred years old. A ceiling with fallen plaster and stucco."

Then he looked at the windows around the enormous hall and threw some white sheets off the furniture.

"Cracked windows with old frames and antic furniture... I can swear there is no clean room for us to stay in and most likely it is full of insects! "

Then he gave a small bow as if the show had ended.

"We can not live here! The end!"

I copied him, a small bow to the nonexistent audience.

" We are cleaning and repairing everything and making it liveable! The end!"

Staring at me, he sat on all fours with a pouting face.

"I tell you, I am not lifting a finger!"

Ignoring his pouting face, I looked at the huge stairs connecting to the second floor.

"Maybe the second floor is in a better state?" I said, turning my head to Lucas.

This time, it was Dylan jinxing it!

"In your dreams! There is even a law saying that the ground floor is always in a better state than the rest of the house."

"What law? Why are you spotting nonsense?"

"It is the law of how the world works! Even if a clueless woman like yourself might not know it!" said Lucas in a ridiculing tone.

Hearing Lucas say that my blood boiled, and the feminist inside me awakened. I lifted him and gave him a backflip. Then I roared like a gorilla as I pounded on my chest.

Lucas looked surprised and ashamed at being thrown to the ground by a woman. Shooting at me, hateful glares.

"In this house, women have the power, so next time you do anything anti-feminist, you get a double backflip in front of the crowd."

I stared at both of them.

" I will do that and I am not joking! Maybe in front of our new wild neighbors? Why am I not hearing your response?"

"I won't do it again!" Said Lucas, visibly crossing his fingers that he hid when I glared at them.

I looked at Dylan, who, in thoughts, was rehearsing our good old times.

"I won't, I won't!" Said Dylan, scared since he knew it wasn't an empty threat. After all, he had experienced it firsthand!

Pleased with their behavior, I took the mattresses we had purchased earlier from Dylan, but looked at the ground, deciding to clean up before placing them. How could I do that with my hands now full?

"Go bring the vacuum and vacuum the floor!" I ordered Lucas.

Before he could show resistance, I turned around to Dylan.

"Go bring the mop and water, and clean the floor!"

"Now!"

They unwillingly went and did the job. Their half-assed work got done in 15 minutes. Then I opened the tightly rolled mattresses and placed them on the floor. Lucas brought the pillows while Dylan brought the sheets and I unpacked everything.

"I need to use the toilet!" said Dylan, with an urgent tone. I wanted to tell him to go outside and deal with it in a bush but remembered that this was my house.

"Let's go this way. There should be a bathroom on this floor." I pointed to the corridor on the left side of the hall.

Wrong! It led to the kitchen. A gigantic kitchen with a dining table in it and a backdoor. For safety reasons, I double-checked to see if it was closed and thankfully it was.

Going back down the corridor and to the other side of the hall, it wasn't there either! What was there made me instantly fall in love with the house!

A huge two-tier library, the size of the hall, with two stairs from each side to the second floor. The second floor's walls were visible from the first floor, filled with bookshelves!

I felt bewitched! Lucas and Dylan, both looking in dire situations, approached and dragged me out of the library! Feeling like I was being separated from an old lover, I looked back at the corridor with sadness.

Going up the long marble stairs, their faces were really hilarious. The first thing you saw on the second floor was a full glass door to a full glass half-circled balcony. It looked magical.

Then, if you turned around, you could see nine doors and two stairs from each side of the floor leading upstairs. Lucas and Dylan looked at each other as if coming to a silent agreement. Each ran to one side of the floor to search a room. Following their lead, I entered the room in the middle.

Dear God! What am I seeing?
