THUD

Both the boars fell to the ground with a loud sound. Even after falling, they still moved forward, from just how much speed they were moving at.

Theo looked at them in shock. They had to be ready when they got back up again.

A few seconds passed, and they didn't. He then noticed the lifeless, open eyes of one of them and looked at Warren in shock.

"Are there more coming, young master?"

Theo ignored the kill message and responded, "Yes, I think a whole family of boars is on their way…"

"Hmm… those are easy kills. But I don't think they will come out of the forest, young master," Warren said, and while the stag still kept looking at the forest with its towering body, as if it were an automatic defense system of sorts, he went back to finally do some check-ups.

When he came close enough to Clara, who was still in a lot of pain. Even when she was unconscious, her lips were pursed and her eyes were twitching.

The boar had literal panic in its eyes, yet it dared not move so that its master wouldn't feel any pain from its side.

"She got hit by a boar on her back, Warren. Here." Theo showed him the place and pulled the leather armor up a little, making Warren's eyes flinch.

"That… is messed up, young master… we need to get her back as soon as possible," Warren stated and touched slightly to get the feel of the wound, only to shake his head again.

"All the bones have been cracked, but she was able to preserve her spine… that is good. But it won't matter if she is not fixed soon. We need to leave."

"You leave with her and drive safely. I will be back on my own. I know the way," Theo stated and took a deep breath before he stepped forward.

But before he could move any further, Warren grabbed his arm tightly, making him wince a little.

"My apologies, but I can't let you do that, young master. We are leaving right now," Warren stared at him with serious eyes.

"You… you don't understan—"

"Your beast is not with you, so you're going to look for it right now, is that it?" he spoke, making Theo look at him in surprise before he nodded.

"…If it's alone there right now, you might get some bad news soon. You need to let go and come with me, young master. I can't let you go back."

Warren grabbed his arm tightly and started moving back to the carriage. Theo tried struggling to come out.

In anger and panic, he even hit his knee in surprise in order to come out, but Warren didn't even flinch. The gap in strength was too much.

He was literally going to throw Theo inside the carriage and then get Clara in safely—

He froze completely. Theo suddenly felt like something was wrong with him. He looked forward at his eyes and saw literal fear in them.

He was trying to say something with his lips moving, yet no sane words were coming out.

"You can leave him with me," suddenly, a voice came from the forest's direction.

Theo flinched back and saw a mysterious man clad in a knight's armor. When he looked around to find a crest, and when he finally found it, Theo was in yet another shock.

It was the crest of the Merrick.

Warren moved his face toward the knight slowly, and after noticing the crest right away, he nodded in understanding.

The knight yawned a little, making Theo feel weird. There was nothing other than the armor that screamed knight from him. He was the complete opposite of most of them that he saw back in the castle.

"Take the attendant with you. I will go get the young master's beast with him. It's not too far," the knight said again in a sleepy way.

But when Theo realized he knew the whereabouts of the Mantis already, he ran—making Warren leave his hand completely.

Theo came to Clara and spoke slowly, "Clara, you will be safe now. Warren will take you back to the castle. I will be with our family's knight in the forest to find Mantis, okay?"

When Theo spoke, suddenly, Clara opened her eyes wide. It was as if adrenaline was pumped into her just now.

She moved her face for the first time since getting injured and saw the knight staring at her with a sleepy face.

When she saw his face, a light, satisfied sigh came out of her mouth before her head went down with a thud on the boar's back.

SQUEAKK

The boar panicked, and Theo moved toward her face to ask what happened.

"She is unconscious right now, nothing to worry about," the knight said, coming forward and stopping in front of Clara.

The boar squeaked aggressively after seeing the man take something out from the brownish leather pouch on his waist.

He took out a small vial of crimson-colored liquid from the pouch and opened the cork right away.

After swirling the liquid twice, he opened Clara's mouth and poured everything inside.

Theo felt concerned—he felt like the liquid would get stuck in her throat, making her cough or something.

But to his comfort, Clara just gulped it down without any problem, and her expressions became even more relaxed.

"That will keep her alive till she gets help. Come, we should go," the knight stated and started walking toward the forest again.

Theo quickly went to Warren, who was still a bit scared. "This is no time to freeze, Warren. Get Clara carefully inside the carriage and drive as fast as you can while keeping her safe, alright?"

Warren came out of his trance and quickly nodded. As if the boar understood already, it came directly to the carriage's entrance.

Warren went inside and moved a compartment at the bottom of the seat, making a small bed come out.

Theo watched him keep Clara on the bed in one go, and Clara did not make any noise.

Before closing the carriage, Theo checked her pulse quickly before leaving. He sighed in relief, her heart was beating normally.

he quickly got out and closed the gate. It was time to go rescue the Mantis.
