Chapter 120: 15 days later (1)
"It's training my beast and myself to become stronger, father. I find it more fun than just wasting my time," Theo spoke with a serious face. Theo said that from his heart.
When Thorne heard that, he looked at him and nodded in understanding.
"Well, I suppose you were right, Aldric. He is better than I thought." Thorne came forward and kept a hand on Theo's shoulder.
"Boy, keep going like this and you might just accomplish greatness like your father. But don't overdo it, you have all the time in the world."
He patted his shoulder two more times before he made him and the Baron start moving back.
At the thought of time, Theo only shook his head with a smile, time was what he didn't have.
Even now, his mantis was level 4 and a bigger and hardy beast could still squash it like an ant.
This was the case with many more beasts, but Theo didn't want such a big liability in his beast. He wanted to be strong and didn't care if it was wishful thinking.
"That was reckless, Theo." The Baroness crouched on the ground making her beautiful dress touch the dirty ground.
She tapped on his lower thigh gently and froze. The muscle was too tight, to know if this was just the injury, she touched the other thigh too and realized that it was the same.
She looked up at Theo who had a gentle smile on his face and she took a deep set of breaths before she went back up.
"Theo, rest properly and take care of your body. You can train all you want, I won't stop you, but I will do my best to refrain you from fighting with men that are 2 times your age and size. Got it?"
"Don't worry, mother. I don't usually go this far but this was a unique situation."
"I know your father put you on a pedestal, but one should realize when to end something. You left your neck so open at that last moment, it was as if you wanted to get hit." The Baroness stated and Theo looked at her with widened eyes.
"That… makes sense." Theo was bewildered and even though these observations were normal, they came from the person he least expected it.
"If I really can't stop you from being this reckless, then I guess I will have to make you do things the right way. I will arrange the best tutor for you to train with." The Baroness said again.
"Wait, wasn't I the one training Theo?!" Lucien felt like he was wronged by his mother.
"Even though your father told you to stop, it doesn't change the fact that you stopped this rascal's training when he clearly doesn't know when to stop, Lucien. Focus on the gate's preparation for now." The Baroness said with a stern gaze.
Lucien wanted to say something again but that stern gaze made the giant nod obediently.
"Can you walk now or should I carry you back to your room, Theo?" He asked to change the subject while gesturing to carry him.
Theo just shook his head and chuckled, he jogged in place and showed that he was still able to place force on his thigh.
"A little potions and it will be better soon, mother and elder brother." Theo stated making a vein pop in his mother's forehead.
Theo realized that late enough and quickly interrupted her from speaking, "A-Anyway, I agree that a tutor will be good for me, mother. I will wait for when he comes. I will go and rest now, excuse me." He quickly stated and gave a noble bow before he ran outside the training hall.
Everyone looked at him going and chuckled, Theo showed himself as a kid when it was needed.
Baroness and Lucien looked at Clara who was looking at him go, when she realized it, she only smiled awkwardly and brisked toward him and left the training hall.
"Haaghh… What am I going to do with this child?" The Baroness sighed and smacked her forehead in exhaustion.
"You should be proud, mother. At this age, when everyone just tries to ditch studies and training, Theo is doing all this on his own accord. In my eyes, that is a win in your parenting."
The Baroness looked at Lucien and nodded before her eyebrow twitched again, "I still don't like it… It seems I will have to talk with your father soon." She spoke with a determined face.
Lucien only smiled, it seems the Baron was going to get a gearing soon enough.
Meanwhile, Theo was already halfway to his room, all that running had taken a toll on his injury.
He stopped and moved his thigh up and down with a frown, 'He really did a number on me… That fight felt… too serious? No, that's not it…' Theo thought to himself before he felt like he came to the conclusion.
'It was too professional… yeah, this was my first professional fight. He really was trying to knock me out every time he got the chance unlike the training when we just stop before the finishing blow.'
Clara joined him in his walk soon enough and knew speaking to him right now would be useless, when Theo was thinking, he liked having some time to himself.
Soon, they reached the room and the same routine took place.
Theo rested a lot and stretched his body to help the healing.
He trained the mantis like usual. Its skills were progressing very slowly and at this point, completing the missions half-heartedly or speeding through them was just a bad decision.
Theo wanted to do the missions in a way that he wouldn't feel any pressure from it. Only then will it mean that he nailed it.
Everything was connected to training his mind and body, while training the abilities of the mantis.
Theo decided to work on everything before the trainer comes, it was going to be some long days.
