Weapon smith
Humans always have their obsessions, something they try to achieve their whole life, or a simple hobby at least.
I have many hobbies, like streaming to rant my thoughts and getting canceled— oh, my account got suspended for promoting terrorism a week ago, right after my celebration too. It's in the process of getting an appeal, but since I pretty much banned ads from my channel the priority of it is pretty low.
I will get my channel back up and running soon though, with the power of nepotism.
Oh— where was I? Right, I have many hobbies, streaming is one of them, then beating the shit out of people, recently, I've been smoking to relax.
And now, I decided to pick up weaponsmithing. Ouroboros Omniscia carries inside it a near infinite amount of weapons, so much so that I wouldn't need 90% of it. It has a total of eight hundred different Sections after all.
So? I decided to take out weapons, like these two sniper rifles, a bayonet, and this oddly long double-edge scythe head. Disassembling the rifles' butt stock, I used Reverie and Delusion to weld the two guns together at the end. Then putting the scythe and bayonet at one barrel...
I now have a gun-scythe... it's still too uncomfortable to hold. So I broke off the handles, using a combination of Reverie and Delusion again, I made a handle right in between the rifles, extending the length to around four meters... hm, I decreased the length of the barrels on bout side, reducing the total size to about three meters.
With both sides, being guns, they can either push the scythe forward or backward depending on which trigger you pull. Good for sudden attacks.
But a scythe is a very impractical weapon, but there are bound to be people who would want to use it, out of sheer stupidity or because it is a weapon fit for them.
I looked at Mitsuki, who was on my bed. Basically, we returned to Mu together, with her hair being black nobody should recognize her, but just in case we decided to let her stay indoors.
"Mitsuki, wanna try out a new weapon?"
"Mhm? Of course!", she cheerfully jumped out of bed, looking at the gun-scythe, "This looks pretty cool!"
"Would you like to try it?", I handed it over to her.
I handed it over to her— only for her to fall down due to the weight of the weapon.
Damn, I forgot about the weight. It's around 15 kilograms.
"Mitsuki, are you okay?", I asked her.
She let go of the scythe, returning to me with a hug, "I-I'm okay! The scythe was a bit heavy, that's all."
I smiled, "Well, I think I'll sell this on the black market..."
I went ahead and picked the gun-scythe up, placing it in a corner with some of my other creations... which all encounter the same problem - weight.
These are always too heavy for Mitsuki... which I now realize isn't a good baseline for weapon compatibility. Her build is suited for light and precise weapons.
Wait... these weapons can't be used against humans due to their weight and size... but what about against animals? Or maybe even Beasts...
Beast is a classification of animals that had become too dangerous for humans, and the people who hunt them are Hunters...
Yes!!
"I got it!", I raised my voice in excitement.
It spooked Mitsuki a bit since I don't usually raise my voice.
"Mitsuki, I have a great plan!", I smiled, staring at her, "I will sell these to the Hunter Association!"
These are too clunky to be used against people, and they are reused parts of other weapons, there is no point in developing them! Hehahaha! I am a fucking genius!
"I thought you didn't like other people taking your stuff?", Mitsuki asked.
I nodded in agreement, "Yup, but these are failed products. There is nothing wrong with giving people these~"
I am pretty sure Qaeidat Dhahabia's store is a laundering scheme or falsely advertised. I mean, I got a fucking Herald of The Machine Overlord, does it count as slavery?
Anyway, I am making weapons because I find it fun, and I have been trying to achieve something.
Alchemy.
I went back to pick out weapons inside Ouroboros Omniscia...
Alchemy is the art of transmutation, to turn one thing into another, reconstructing existence itself. It isn't that different from Chemistry, in fact, these two used to be one thing.
Though the current Alchemy isn't called Alchemy, it's Quantum Physics.
I have an innate understanding of Chemistry and Quantum Physics, being the Records of Mankind and all. If I can bring these two together once again...
Heha...
I stopped my hands, putting down a handgun and a spear. I can only smile and laugh at myself.
I am such a hypocrite. For someone who is trying to cut off the chains of the past, here I am, seeking them.
Should I change my philosophy? There is nothing wrong with it except for the fact that I need to chill out a bit.
Well, I don't need to break all the chains, just unnecessary ones. Ones that help my pursuit that is.
If I discover the secret of True Alchemy, then I can understand how Sinclair made Ouroboros Omniscia and Prydwen.
That ability to meld Relics and God Slayers together... heha... is just so cool.
"..."
Oh, this might actually work.
"Mitsuki, could you try this out?", I handed her a two prongs spear melded with a gun barrel pointing out from the middle.
"Oh! This is pretty light!", she swung it around playfully with a wide smile, "But a counterweight at the end would help it a lot."
I smiled a little, it was progressing. If I am limited by my own knowledge— humanity's knowledge— then I just need to discover things nobody bothered to try.
Sure, weapon fusion is a thing as old as the moment people put a rock on a stick, but it always ends in failure and nobody tries to make it work.
This is how I should train, going beyond the limit of humanity.
"I'll go out on a walk to clear my mind.", I opened up my window and took the briefcase, wearing it on my shoulder.
"Okay! Hope you have a fun trip!", she waved at me.
I waved back and hopped out of the window.
=0=0=
How should I learn blacksmithing... I obviously can't learn anything from people, since their knowledge already exists in my mind.
Hmm... I stare at the sun while sitting down on a bench in the park.
Sun... Star... Eldritch God... Heralds...
Londinium did say that there is a Jury that all Juries of the Pale Court acknowledge as the strongest.
Surtr, the Blacksmith of The End. The same person who one-shotted Yggdrasil, the previous Records of Cosmos.
If I can learn from him...
How the fuck do I even find him then?
I closed my eyes... right. There are other Juries here on Earth. Londinium is too far away so the only other option is...
"Tch.", I click my tongue, "Judas Iscariot... no, just Iscariot."
She is annoying as fuck.
Getting up from the seat, I look around to check for cameras and people. Today is particularly empty.
"Delusion."
I found myself on the roof of the main building... and this uncomfortable silence... I look to the right.
Hmm...
"Iscariot?", I asked.
"You got it wrong.", and a giant mechanical black knight appeared right in front of me, laying roof tiles...
This one is Judas...
"So, Judas... I have something to ask.", he will do fine, "Do you have a way to call Surtr?"
"Why?", he tilted his head as he laid down tiles.
"I want to learn blacksmithing from the best blacksmith in the system.", I smiled, sitting down next to the giant robot.
"John said you are quite the vicious girl, I thought you would want to fight Surtr."
"I am still ninety percent on board with fighting any Jury I can get my hands on.", I grinned widely, "I love putting my life in danger, it is so... stimulating."
"I will not be fighting you, as we are not allowed to attack the life of this world."
"That's disappointing.", I sighed and took out a cigarette, "So about Surtr."
"It will be hard to get in touch with him, since he's out and about in the universe for most of the time.", then his visor lit out an ominous purple, "But with The Original One being awake, all current Heralds in the system are on lockdown, that also includes Surtr."
"Then can I meet him?"
"Not really, but you can attract his attention."
Attracting his attention... I feel a grin creeping up on me... "How can I do that?"
"Elderstahl is your answer, The Burning Sword, the strongest weapon any Herald could possess. Forged from eight cores of eight different worlds. Some Juries say it could slice a Star in half... if the sword was finished."
"Elderstahl isn't finished?", I frowned, "Londinium said it was used on Yggdrasil."
"He is just putting it there temporarily, can't carry an unfinished product around. After all, the sword needs to be quenched in oil."
"So... just find a big tub of oil?"
"There aren't many things that can quench a sword made of the cores of eight worlds, normal oil wouldn't work, even The Machine Overlord had their hands tied with that thing."
"How the fuck am I supposed to do something even an Eldritch God can't?", I frowned, taking in a deep puff.
Hah... this is going to be tough... to do something even a Harbinger of Life can't do...
But I will try it. I grinned, a hot feeling welling up inside me... hehahaha... my emotion... my Desire...
It is compelling me to take on the challenge.
Destroying expectations and achieving the impossible... this is what it means to be human.
I stood up, "Thank you for your time, Judas."
"No problem.", he nodded and vanished in thin air.
I will reach it... one step closer to...
My World of Chalk.
