Chapter 14: Harry's Parade

When most think of school, its those boring tests and sports and teachers who grumble at you for asking the stupidest question (That was my teacher, Ms.Suzzler!), they generally don't think of magic and flying brooms. Well, Hogwarts was like all that except for the magical bits that were seemingly smudged in without care and thought for safety.

I of course, love the school as it was infinitely better then where I used to go, but it was still school and thus there was some mandatory hating involved for atleast a couple things like the resident potions teacher, who I swear has it out for me or doesn't, I have mixed signals regarding that man, and info-gathering magic ain't helping me.

"Ron, I can't wait for Christmas" I muttered with a tone that seemed to have indicated I gave up. My friends, atleast Ron and Neville, seemed to agree with me but Hermione, whose opinion of school was not the same, said "But school has its fun bits" she said as we were eating our toasts with jam and sad looking eggs.

"I know, but I miss my uncles and aunts and my father" I muttered as I speared some innocent eggs into my mouth using a small spell to control the fork. my friends eyes still seemed surprised at this but I couldn't care less. 'Fuck the wand, we have hands' I thought in silent process, only using it sparingly.

I then see something flying through the window in the great hall. It was a small bat that was bigger than its natural counter parts and clutched in its talons was a letter that seemed slightly thick and it dropped it off infront of me and vanished in the next second after.

"Woah, that was wicked" I could hear Ron say as I saw the letters address and saw it was for me and I tore it open quickly. It was a letter from my dad and to summarize what it said, he was apparently hosting a Christmas party on Christmas day in two weeks. He said he already invited some guests, and apparently invited Malfoy. 'Uhg, no way' I thought as I read that part, and noticed it said I could invite guests if I wanted, which was nice.

"Hey guys, want to come over to my place for a christmas party?" I asked them as they snapped right to my face. "I have to ask my parents at once!" said Hermione as she whipped out parchment and ink and began to write. Ron and Neville seemingly had the same idea, but they were pretty sure their family would say yes to it.

"When is it?" asked Ron as he was writing his letter in some sloppy handwriting. 'Demiurge would be most displeased' I thought as I informed him of the date. He was smart, but his handwriting and certain mannerisms seemed to have dimmed those aspects. That sounds arrogant, but I was taught some lessons by Demiurge at Ainz command, so I notice these things.

"What class do we have after this?" I asked them as they answered defense against the dark arts. "Damnit" I said as I layed my head down, hoping I could stall my heart rate to get out of class.

Hermione was quick to slap my hands as she heard the curse. "It isn't proper Harry" she said as she went back to folding her letter and sent it off with a tauney owl, who was quite mad and angry at the world. Ron was going to have to go to the Owlry after classes and Neville sent his off with a strange box which I might ask father to give me as I gave him a reply and sent it off through the communication device. I had a feeling he delivered the letter for atmosphere.

I then saw the same familiar come through the window again and drop a letter in front of Mcgonnagal and Dumbledore and I had a feeling I knew what it was about. 'Why!?' I thought in my mind as I saw them wave at me.

"Harry, why are the professors waving at you?" asked Neville as I relayed my fears, and along with Ron, we all layed our heads on the table and wished we could preemptively jump into the void, as Christmas break was a chance to get away from our teachers and school, not for them to come over to our house for a freaking Christmas party. 'Atleast my family will be there' I thought as I nibbled on the last of my breakfast and got up to go to class, casting a spell to filter the air of the garlic I was gonna smell.

"POTTER!" I heard someone familiar yell in the hallways, and I could immediately feel a little bit of irritation well up within my brain. "What is it?" I said to him in a snarky tone which seemed to put him on hold. "I was told..... I was invited to a party at your place" he said, the last part was barely a whisper but I caught it anyway.

"Yeah, so?" I asked him as he seemed nervous all of a sudden. 'Please get it out' I thought as he extended a hand towards me as if he was offering a handshake. "I wish to offer a truce" said Draco quietly, and I felt as if I was mishearing him.

"What?" I said, wanting confirmation at what I think I heard. "I said I wanted to call a truce!" shouted Malfoy and I felt the world turn upside down. He looked nervous as he said it, and I could feel the reason why. "Alright" I said, already exasperated at the days events. I shook his hands with a firm shake and he felt tense. "Alright, a truce alright" I said to him as I walked away to my next class. As I opened the door to the classroom, I was overwhelmed by the smell of garlic. Only one thought was in my head, 'I can't wait for the party'.
