Chapter 1411: Proportions
Those words were pretty concerning for many reasons… Why not attack Rain already? Following the logic, Rain could only assume that the enemies knew that Rain would die if he were left alone, so it was a waste of time and energy to do anything. Still, the enemy should know that Rain can use space magic, too…
In the end, Rain just touched the ground and used the information path to see if he could find any information about the place, but he only found endless copies of the same information… a single image of the area in the same state it was in right now.
"... This won't be easy, but I guess it can't be helped," Rain said while looking around impatiently. "Inform me if you find anything off around. Literally, anything."
"Roger," Elisabetha said.
Rain looked in the distance before using Impulse, but he didn't see anything… usually, he should have found a wall there since that place was obviously artificial, but he found no such a thing… after using Impulse for a while, though, he saw something like a wall on his right side… as if it was approaching.
"Is his place a circular area?" Rain thought.
The wall wasn't there a while ago, but if it suddenly began to approach, it confirmed that theory… Rain decided to check things there, and after crossing dozens of kilometers, he found the massive wall blocking his path. After checking the information on the wall once more, he found nothing.
In the end, Rain moved his arm backward and then began to charge his punch… after thirty seconds, he attacked… The blast made his fist tingle quite a bit, and the blast pushed away in the opposite direction. Before he could fall, he saw the mark of his fist on the wall slowly disappearing… the damage had been insanely small, and it had been repaired even faster.
"I couldn't sense mana, so they are using other sources of energy for this…" Rain thought.
"I didn't sense anything… try to the first skill of the temporal path and attack again," Elisabetha said.
Lvl 1: Time Sense - Initiates the ability to perceive subtle fluctuations in the fabric of time, granting awareness of temporal anomalies and disturbances.
Rain did that and soon confirmed that he wasn't locked in another time cage like the fifth floor of the prison, so the time outside and inside weren't moving differently.
When Rain attacked the wall again and soon repaired itself, Rain also confirmed that time magic wasn't being used either. Even if another source of energy was being used to control the aspect of time, the skill still would have caught that…
"... It is probably the aspect of space," Rain thought. "This machine god is different from the others that we have found… he can bend space to his will and then repair this kind of damage. This wall is also this hard because it should be as thick as a metal mountain."
"... I suppose that should be possible for someone who can bend space," Elisabetha said.
The machine god that controls the aspect of space… it wasn't an enemy that Rain and the others were expecting to face, but that didn't matter. He had to find a way to deal with it and find the relic… most likely, the relic should be around, but it was hard to sense it thanks to the power of the machine god.
"His power can counter my space magic pretty fast, but I should be able to deal with that somehow," Rain thought.
Time was running out while Rain's friends were fighting… it also would be troublesome if the machine god of space decided to interfere with their battle, so Rain decided to take things seriously.
Rain took a few steps backward and then began to focus his mind on the task ahead… he wished that he could keep that technique hidden for a bit longer, but he couldn't… time and mana were of the essence, after all.
Rain raised his fist again and then began to charge it with his stamina using his charged punch… this time, he began to sweat cold since he could already feel the result…, and his fist began to burn with power. In the next moment, the fist began to glow thanks to the power of light magic, and Rain activated Light Speed.
The attack landed, and the result was exactly what Rain had expected… it creased a hole in the wall that seemed like it had been by an insanely powerful cannon. The impact made the area shake violently for quite a while, and then Rain felt the air inside being sucked by outside…
"This is… vacuum…" Rain said.
Rain's right arm was a mess, the attack peeled all of the skin and exposed the flesh beneath and even the muscles. At the same time, it cracked his bones into several parts. Still, he couldn't afford to worry about the pain.
On the other side of the hole that was quickly repaired even though it was hundreds of meters long, Rain could see some stars glowing… it looked like he was inside a giant structure made of metal instead of a city underground in some world.
"What are you going to do? We can escape now," Elisabetha asked.
"We can't yet…" Rain thought after he checked his pocket dimensions. "Everyone is still fighting."
Even if they were in an area under the control of the machine god that controlled the aspect of time, the relics that were made to prevent the death of the warriors still should work.
The hole was repaired in less than ten seconds, and then Rain turned around and began to use Impulse again. Before anything, he decided to confirm the size of that place, and soon, he completed a lap on it… considering the distance that he could cover with Impulse in a single moment, he estimated that he would run a distance of two thousand kilometers…
