Chapter 21: — Ultima form: Meteor

Clay quickly got himself out of bed, the debris had thick mana around it, clearly created with some kind of spell. He dashed through the hole in his dorm room and jumped up to the roof. A cloaked figure floated above the school, the man that he had fought the day before.

"Fuckers back for more I guess…"

He then saw Professor Faroth standing next to him.

"What's up, Kid, Nora told me that this guy was the one who made that funky barrier, right?"

"Uh…yeah."

"Well, kid, lemme teach you a thing or two about barriers. You can use them to amplify a spell to the maximum, Ultima, and, if that guy can make a barrier form that even I can't use, he can definitely use Ultima. So, just watch out."

As he said that, the man began chanting, and summoned several layers of barriers with magical language engraved, centering them around a piece of debris in the sky. The debris started to expand, the mana in the air becoming thick as it became a hulking meteor, slowly descending towards the school.

"Clay, I'll deal with the guy. You can…try to hold back the meteor, okay?"

"You can't be serious—"

The professor went off to fight the man as the meteor slowly moved towards Clay. He sighed and jumped up to the meteor, using wind magic to keep up his movements, he tried to hold it back with the earth. And the wind. And even tried to condense the wind to recreate the lightning he had somehow remembered. But then a voice boomed in his head.

"Struggling kid? I'll give you a little assist. But only if you say my name. Devour that delicious mana for me, kid, and you'll get stronger."

"Fuck, fine…I remember now."

Clay put his hand on the meteor and let all his mana gather into his palm as he felt darkness encasing his left arm, a black wing spreading out of it, keeping him afloat.

"DEVOUR, BAHAMUT!"
