Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 99: Not Harm Them...? But Why??

Prophet Baba Yaga's eyes were fully consumed by the darkness in her last moments, turning the fear etched across her withered face into an eternally fearful night. She looked like she wanted to get out a few more words of vital importance, but could not get them out in the end.

Yet, her dreadful image imprinted itself deep into the World Leader's minds… It was harrowing.

"Most of Baba Yaga's message was indecipherable, but from what we can understand, this Gate is part of the 2nd Calamity."

The Chairman's grave tone of voice echoed out within the bounds of his office. He slumped into the back of his chair, making visible the grayed hairs that seemed to be on the verge of falling off.

"All I can say is… God help us all…"

—Meanwhile, just outside a C-Rank Gate in downtown Hoshito—

*Step, Step, Step.*

Although Cassius walked around as if he weighed less than a feather, Yimin did not believe in the art of being quiet. She flaunted her ample valley tops openly and without shame, all while hopping across the streets.

'Yimin really doesn't care a single bit about keeping a low profile,' thought Cassius, his icy blue eyes tracing the voluptuous gray-haired dragonoid. 'If not for that subtle illusion spell she cast on herself, things might really become troublesome. Especially when considering… that…'

He looked behind his shoulder, watching as a Giant Yellow Portal spasmed, fizzled, and then ultimately dissipated into nothing.

'If anyone were to see a dragonoid female come out of a closing Gate, then they would surely call for a manhunt…'

A heavy sigh echoed as Cassius navigated his way toward the next C-Rank Gate on the Gate Map. Yimin stayed a bit ahead of him, yet seemingly knew exactly where he was going.

During the brief trip, she often found her way back to his side and clung to him with a giddy expression for a while. However, as one with an extreme case of ADHD, she got bored easily, and just like an antsy puppy, she escaped his grasp and frolicked over to anything she found interesting.

Keeping track of Yimin was a whole mission in and of itself, but it was because of this curious wandering that Cassius figured out something intriguing about her. He learned that, with her A- Skill 'Tyrant God's Disguised Misfortune,' she was extremely… lucky?

It was hard to call it luck, because every time the Passive Skill activated, Yimin would wind up in… compromising positions…

She once saw a butterfly, chased it, then tripped and landed with her butt and panties in the air. Another time, she was chasing a fuzzy bunny, yet ended up stuck in a bush, once again with her cheeks catching some air. Then there was the time she ran back to Cassius to recharge, only to stumble halfway through and knock him over. She wound up pushing her face into his crotch, with his face also mere centimeters away from her honey cavern.

It was at that moment that he realized just how… useless that Skill was!

How could a Skill possibly be so useless!? And an A- one no less??

Was this God's way of laughing at him? Or…

'The Idle Evolution System…'

Cassius knew the System would never openly admit it if that was the answer he wanted, but it was most certainly attempting to further develop his Character. All it knew how to do was throw tests and trials his way, not caring a single bit how it affected him mentally.

'Yimin is also one of the Character Development builders… Why is the opposition around every single corner…?'

The next few hours passed by rather quickly, with Cassius deep in thought about the true purpose of life, and Yimin, who was just… being Yimin.

She contributed literally nothing to any of the Gate Raids, which he wasn't too opposed to, as it meant more EXP for himself. However, with that pesky Skill of hers, she speedily proved herself to be the largest mental hurdle that he has needed to pass so far.

Time and time again, she landed herself in the most dastardly of positions. If not for her irresistible appearance and body, then Cassius might be able to completely zone her out, but even that became increasingly difficult to do. After all, she was drop-dead gorgeous, and it wasn't even a matter of opinion. It was a fact.

Cassius could already imagine the smug expression the Idle Evolution System was making as it watched him struggle so terribly. If it could sneer, then it likely would have done that already as well.

Luckily, he was saved by the bell before he actually broke for real. The sun began to set in the hazy blue sky, which meant it was time to return home. However, as there was still something important he had to do, he sent Yimin ahead of him.

"But Master… Yimin wants to—"

"No need to speak any more on the matter, Yimin. I will only be gone for four hours at most," Cassius interrupted, his eyes averted from her puppy-dog face. "I will be right beside you again before you know it. But for now, you will need to properly behave and not harm the other girls."

"Not harm them…?" Yimin's expression dropped even more than when she heard that she couldn't be beside her Master for upward of two hours.

She was planning to kill and eat any human females close to the Master as soon as possible. Yet, with her Master's new confusing order, what was she expected to do??

'If those bitches live, Yimin's Master and Yimin will never live happily ever after… But Master says not to kill them… Why does he say that?? Is Yimin not good enough for Master—!?'

Before her thoughts could spiral any further, Cassius patted her on the head.

His warm pets immediately soothed her nerves and cleared her mind. A goofy grin secretly crept up her divinely beautiful face. And just like all the previous times her Master used this magic trick on her, she forgot all her previous killing intent and only thought fuzzy things.
