Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 462: Facing The Ancestors of the Greenflame and Hundred-eyed Sects

"It's a bit of a shame that the Sect we created was massacred, but the existence of this unknown entity more than makes up for it," said the oldest among the Hundred-eye Ancestors, his aura pulsating at a level far above what a normal Early Qi Condensation Cultivator could emit. "If we offer this thing to the Skyriser Kingdom, we might receive enough cultivation resources to ascend into the Middle Qi Condensation Realm. At that point, we could even apply to become Deacons of a Grade 6 Sect."

Sects in the Skyriser Kingdom, which incorporated everything for thousands of miles surrounding the Devastation Woods, were divided into 7 Grades. Each Grade was akin to the difference between heaven and earth, with lowest-grade sects like the Greenflame and Hundred-eyed Sects barely even qualifying as sects in the eyes of this world's powerhouses.

"Our seclusion sessions have brought about numerous breakthroughs in our cultivations and insights," the oldest Hundred-eye Ancestor continued. "And though it may seem a little menial, why don't we show this abomination what a true cultivator looks like?"

Walking through the bubbling toxic puddle that was left behind after Sect Leader Hundred-eye's death, the Ancestors of the unorthodox sect remained unaffected by the toxicity. They vanished the moment they passed through the toxic sludge.

During the same period of time, archaic personages from the Greenflame Sect emerged from their cultivation seclusions. They were similar in power to the Hundred-eye Elders and also had very similar intentions in mind when it came to Necro's existence.

"So many visitors today."

Necro calmly shifted his hollowed eyes between all of the Qi Condensation Realm Ancestors facing him from several high vantage points. They had all officially embarked on the Path of Cultivation, with their Qi Veins overflowing with Spiritual Energy and their Spiritual Seas brimming with untapped power reserves.

"But since you've all come, I assume you've thoroughly prepared yourselves to never return?"

Necro's words baffled the Ancestors from both sides. They exchanged glances with one another before bursting out in laughter.

"For a monster to be this cocky—what a surprise!" 4th Ancestor Greenflame cackled while holding his stomach. "However, your ignorance is just as we expected. You're a foolish little thing through and through."

Necro stared blankly at the Ancestors snickering at him.

'They haven't realized that isn't my main body, yet they still claim me to be the ignorant one, he thought. I should deal with them appropriately.'

None of the Ancestors from the two sects were above the Early Qi Condensation Realm. However, there were quite a lot of them, presenting a definite threat to Necro as he was.

But he was never one to remain stagnant for long…

"Listen, you abomination," said 2nd Ancestor Hundred-eye, his 2nd-stage Qi Condensation Realm cultivation flaring. "If you give yourself up now, we'll forget all about your crimes of killing all the Disciples in our sects."

"You'll forgive me?" Necro asked, a deathly glow billowing within his hollowed eyes. "Forgive me for what?"

"...Are you really this stupid, you monster??" 2nd Ancestor Hundred-eye rebuked. "We might've cared very little for our sects, but that doesn't change the fact that you ruined what belonged to us. And for that, death would be a mercy for you."

"However," he added, "we're offering an alternative. Just come quietly and—"

SWISH!

A large black Root shot up out of the ground before shooting toward the 2nd Hundred-eye Ancestor. It aimed to pierce through him.

Unfortunately…

"A mere trick!"

2nd Ancestor Hundred-eye unleashed his 2nd Layer Qi Condensation Realm cultivation, and with a single palm strike, he blasted away the Root. This attack caused it to shrink back into the ground, once again disappearing from view.

Quickly hiding his reddened hand behind his back, 2nd Ancestor Hundred-eye looked down on the giant tree humanoid standing atop a peak opposite him.

"Is that all you got, freak?" he laughed in a cocky manner, making the rest follow suit as they all jeered at the expressionless tree humanoid. "You know what? I'm feeling sorry for you, so I'll give you one last chance to surrender!"

After a brief pause of deep thought—which the Ancestors assumed to be him giving in—Necro said, "So this is the Qi Condensation Realm. Your palm was infused with the Inner Energy you pulled from your Spiritual Sea. Although not impressive at your level, it is interesting nonetheless and could be applied in some format to my own soldiers."

"Your soldiers…?"

Had this tree monster gone crazy??

What was it even talking about??

"Yes," replied Necro, as unnatural shadows materialized all around him. "My soldiers."

"!!!" "!!!" "!!!"

The abrupt appearance of multiple wooden figures in the Qi Condensation Realm shook the Ancestors of the two sects to their cores.

"Guh!!!"

The Shadow Soldiers' shrill shrieks resounded, making the Ancestors of the two sects instinctively take a few steps back. Their emotions were a turbulent mess, as they never would've expected that the abomination they had their eyes on would have so many powerhouses backing him up.

And from the looks of it, these newcomers were of a similar type as the abomination…

"Are they part of some new kind of species or something??" 3rd Ancestor Greenflame became increasingly cautious, already regretting leaving his seclusion for this. "Well, whatever they are, they're trouble—..."

*Fwooop!*

In the blink of an eye, a Shadow Tree Soldier crossed over from Necro's mountain peak. It flickered in front of 3rd Ancestor Greenflame, and with a slashing motion that streaked terror through the Ancestor's irises, it cleaved him in half.

"Ahhh!!!"

Surprisingly, 3rd Ancestor Greenflame was still alive. But as the pain was too much to bear, he quickly lost consciousness after a brief period of screaming.

The Shadow Tree Soldier, however, didn't slow down in its attacks. It unleashed a flurry of |Cross-slashes|, using its woody appendages to finish the Ancestor off as devastatingly fast as possible.

But…

CLANG!

A long silver sword clashed with the strikes of the Shadow Tree Soldier, causing it to stagger backward.

"Do you think we're invisible!?"

RUMBLE!
