Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 350: Maraxia, the Monster Monarch

*Pow, Pow, Pow!*

Nyxvoldar was reduced to a glorified punching bag, with Yimin unleashing a barrage of punches that hit from all sides nigh-simultaneously.

Naturally, he was blown to smithereens.

But because of his unique existence as an Evomon, he returned to peak condition in mere moments.

"Hmph!" Yimin snorted. "It appears that you're challenging me by not staying dead! Very well—let us find a different location to decide who the ultimate victor is!"

No!

BOOOM!

Too late!

Yimin spartan-kicked Nyxvoldar off Raijin's tail, sending him cannonballing through the murky, soot-filled skies. She followed quickly behind, transforming into a huge dragon on her way over.

Mountains were swallowed whole, leaving a trail of destruction everywhere she chased the fleeing Nyxvoldar.

However, although Nyxvoldar had been caught off guard a few times, that didn't mean he wasn't her match. Proving this point, his demeanor completely changed as his countenance frosted over. He moved as quick as lightning, smoothly evading strike after strike from Yimin.

Yet this only seemed to incense her even further, for she started fighting with even more ferocity. In their wake, they left entire monster cities and whole landscapes in disarray. They amassed quite a large number of opponents as well, leading to numerous monster powerhouses flying after them.

When Transcendents entered the fray, Yimin and Nyxvoldar finally stopped fighting each other. Their fierce expressions turned toward the foes surrounding them, and with the sounding of countless earth-shaking explosions, an even more destructive battle commenced.

Meanwhile, Cassius rode atop Raijin, seemingly oblivious to the ongoing armageddon happening behind him. All his concentration was centered on the undulating aura blasting out of the weird monumental stick-bone structure.

Strong!

Extremely strong!

FWIP!

The owner of that aura appeared in front of Cassius without warning. It was a woman with a bountiful rack and a disposition that screamed icy domination.

"Hm?" Cassius looked her up and down, though he wasn't the least bit affected by her immense beauty. "Maraxia, the 21st Strongest Monster Monarch. It's my sublime pleasure to become acquainted with you."

Seeing him bow, Maraxia's eyebrows knitted tighter together. "Have you any idea where you are right now, human?" she asked with a venomous tone. "Albeit a miracle that you've come this far, this is the end of the line for you."

"Is that so?" Cassius remarked, his sight zooming past Maraxia's voluptuous, barely covered figure.

Her slightly-pointed ears twitched as she shot her head toward her palace, only to reel back in shock upon seeing a giant rift splitting her home in two. Both halves slowly slid off one another, their individual descents appearing quite slow from where she was standing—though this was merely an illusion created by the palace's ridiculously large size.

"The Human…"

Maraxia's eyes darted around until she eventually found Cassius calmly floating in between where the two palace halves had separated. He was holding within his hands a shrunken spatial crack. Or, to be more specific—

An Origin Gate.

"This one is of the highest quality yet, thus it'll surely allot an enormous sum of experience points," said Cassius. "It's a bit unfortunate that it's the only one here, though. I had assumed there'd be more."

"Human…" Maraxia's expression mixed fury and alarm as she blurred, aiming to strike down Cassius before the damage became permanent. "What HAVE you done!?"

RUMBLE!!

The world trembled, but not because of the incredible might of Maraxia, the Monster Monarch of Wind. No, this stemmed from what Cassius had just done.

Origin Gates were not only what one required to spawn Gates in different dimensions; they were also essentially the power sources of the 7 Paradises. And with Cassius having just stolen the last Origin Gate, the 5th Paradise reached a point of imminent collapse.

Of course, just like the 1st through 4th Paradises, whose Origin Gates Cassius had also stolen, the 5th Paradise would not permanently disappear. It would simply experience a fundamental rebirth, creating new land, new civilizations—

New Monster Monarchs.

"HUMAN!!" Maraxia raced forward at crazily fast speeds, her killing intent palpable. "DIE!!!"

Sighing, Cassius raised a single finger. That finger, after contacting the tip of Maraxia's Transcendent-rank sword, dispersed all the momentum behind it. He then reached out with his other hand, grabbing her by the throat.

*Cough! Cough!*

Staring into the slitted eyes of the violently coughing woman, Cassius's grip tightened. "For me, we've already had this fight dozens of times. And every single time, you lose in a single move."

"W-What are you talking about…!?" Maraxia shouted, fury engulfing her pupils.

Cassius pensively peered into the depths of the Monster Monarch's soul. "You're stubborn. That never changes. But unfortunately for you, I don't need someone as stubborn as you on my side."

"!!!"

Just as he went to snap her neck and end her life, he suddenly stopped after sensing something inside her that resonated with his Demonic Dragon Bloodline.

"You're part dragon?"

Growling with saliva flying everywhere, Maraxia refused to answer.

However, Cassius didn't need her confirmation. He gleaned the truth with a simple System Scan. And from it, he learned that she was half Lerallian Dragon, which was apparently a pretty noble breed of King Dragon.

For dragons, lineage was very, very important. And at the top of the lineage rankings, there were King Dragons and Emperor Dragons. The latter had not been sighted by the common populace of the Ascension Tower for thousands of years, but King Dragons were seen every now and then.

Still, King Dragons were rumored to be Peak Transcendents at the very minimum. This meant that any of their descendants were sure to ascend to immeasurable heights.

Some were even recorded to have surpassed the Transcendent rank, ascending to godhood!

"Hmm…" Cassius paused, deep in thought. 'To kill or not to kill. That is the question.'

After a period of deliberation, he ultimately decided to release Maraxia.

"Kuk! Y-You bastard…! Kuk!" She cursed even while gasping for breath on a mountain summit.

"I definitely haven't heard that one before," Cassius sarcastically retorted before taking out a magically imbued collar. He wrapped it around her neck, making sure it snugly molded to her fair, snow-white skin. "This is my gift to you. No need to thank me."

"A subordination collar!?"
