In The Abyss As A Toon Character

Chapter 28: Chapter 23 A pegasus, a moth, and a robot walk into a bar...

The sun rose from the horizon, casting its cozy glow across the clouds. Its rays gradually spread across my face, working as a clock to wake me early in the morning.

I stretched my wings and looked at my surroundings. Feeling refreshed and energized after a good night's sleep on the soft, comfortable clouds.

I floated towards the house, my hooves barely sounding on the cloud surface. However, When I reached Daniel's room, I found him still sleeping. But my quiet intrusion ended up waking him.

Slowly, his body recalibrated, and I could easily see the stark contrast between us; his movements were sluggish, and he looked completely burned out. Yesterday, spar took more out of him than I initially thought.

When I saw him all worn out, I couldn't help but tease him a little. "You actually got me in the first half. What happened after the second round?"

His gaze met mine, a mix of exhaustion and mild irritation. "Fuck you... Like birds, you are probably designated to fly huge distances. Your energy reserves should be superior to mine in every sense."

I chuckled before continuing, "Well, lucky for you, I've got plans to keep us entertained. I'll be busy making a UNO set. Give me an hour or so. Hehe I'm gonna crush you in that game."

Daniel groggily got back in bed, muttering, "Sure, but just let me sleep a few more hours..."

In a hushed tone, I replied, "Ok," before departing.

As Dante was shaping the clouds, the moth from the last time approached, bringing with her a peculiar request "If it isn't much of a problem, could you rediction the tornados? They aren't quite friendly."

Perplexed, I furrowed my brows. What? What is she talking about? "Lemme check it first." Dante flew below the snowy cloud barrier, searching for giant gray dots.

His head popped out of the clouds. Then he found one, two, three... "Oh... so that's the tornadoes yeah, they don't see really friendly."

By accident, Dante ended up creating a lot of tornados. The temperature outside of the city is scorching, and the air constantly clashes. This contrast of currents helped in the creation of many menaces."

I reassure the moth. "Sure I'll clean them up"

Su Yuan expressed her gratitude, "Thank you."

Scratching my head, I pondered How the fuck do I move a tornado? Like, do I spin it in reverse so it dissolves? Just push it? No one teached me anything about this.

Dante tried various methods, including spinning around the tornado, but it only made them larger by accident. After half a day of trial and error, he redirected most tornadoes. He said most because one got too big, and he couldn't do much about it.

In his journey to dissolve tornadoes, something unexpected and wholesome happened. Neither the moth nor Dante expected it to happen.

The pegasus continued his chat with her new friend, "Su Yuan, if I'm not wrong, Chinese? Anyway, It's nice to talk to someone else who isn't Daniel. I had only interacted with him for months. "

Su Yuan, intrigued, asked, "How so?"

"He is my only friend."

Su yuan actually understood this, responding with, "Oh, I think that is great. This place requires someone who you can trust in your life. I am in the same. I just have a friend, so it's common to just one friend don't worry."

So it's common to be with only a partner, probably that's why they asked for duos in this event. "huh, changing the theme... You said you were in the underground. How so? is there a bunker or something similar?"

Su Yuan delved into the details "A red of underground tunnels, we call it the hive and it's a place filled with strings and traps designed to kill anyone who enters."

I couldn't help but exclaim, "That sounds cool."

With a modest tone, Su Yuan responded, "Not as living in the sky."

I deter her. "It's quite boring up here."

The moth replied, "Here, there is always something to do. If you are not putting traps, then you are fighting."

Jokingly, I proposed a plan "Maybe I'll go and visit you."

Su Yuan, with a hint of concern, replied, "I'd prefer to visit you, It's a total mess here. It's barely safe for us."

"Sure how about tomorrow? I'll go for y'all tomorrow, don't die."

Both of us said our farewells. Marveled at what just happened today.

I made a new friend who would have thought it, Maybe because of Rainbow Dash's personality, but I am really connecting with anything right now.

So, with that planned, I went to sleep excitedly, wondering what she would be like. She told me her figure was tall and slender, with beautiful white hair like silk and snow-white skin.

I woke up anticipating the day. What will be in store for me? The moth from last time comes up to me and says, "Follow me."

Before going, I told Daniel that I'd bring them. He was not 100% in agreement with me but reluctantly agreed.

According to him, it could be a trap which, even if it is, I'll just run away then. But the contract should protect me from tricks and that stuff.

Eagerly, my body emerged from the clouds, and my descent towards the floor began. The moth was quite slow, so I had to give her a "push" until we were close enough to the ground. From there, it guided me to the designated place.

The moth halted and started talking. "I'm close wait me there for um... 5 minutes?"

"oh, okay," I sat down with my wings ready. Who knows, an enemy could be watching.

With his guard heightened Dante waited there for 3 minutes until he heard footsteps. A voice, clearly surprised, broke the silence, "Y-You are the player who manipulates the weather?"

Dante didn't understand why she was so shocked. Shouldn't she have already seen his appearance with the moth drone?

I turned around to see her responding with, "Of course who else would I be..." yet I wasn't ready for what was about to come. My voice got lower and lower out of the surprise I got

My surprise matched hers as we simultaneously uttered, "This isn't what I imagined."

What met me wasn't a human. Instead, she was a weird-looking anthropomorphic creature with four arms and moth-like features. Antennas, each at least 30 cm long, adorned her head while her eyes boasted white pupils with a black eyeball, creating a captivating contrast.

I had to crane my neck upwards as high as possible to see her. Noticing she stood a whopping 2 meters or even more.

...

The next moments were saturated with an awkward tension. Silence lingered, increasing the weirdness of the encounter. Neither of us dared to break the ice.

Attempting to break the tension, I forced an awkward laugh, "This is quite uneasy."

The moth responded, feeling the same, "Yeah, I wasn't expecting to meet a pegasus, but what caught me off-guard is that you look pretty familiar, as if I saw you before."

Recently, I almost forgot something I come from that "show," don't tell me... "Probably I mean there should be a lot of pegasus in histories and mythology." I shrug off her doubt with what first came to my mind.

The moth girl persisted with the topic. "No, no Like I saw you before, I don't remember where,"

My face darkened with my eyes turning sideways as sweat began to run down my face. "N-No, I'm pretty sure you don't."

Su Yuan kept pressing the matter, "No but."

I dashed behind her, and with a deep and low voice, I whispered, "Please, You don't want to know. It's better for both of us."

She understood that the pegasus didn't want to talk about it and decided to respect his opinion. But still, she was really confused about it. What kinda of grimdark universe does his new friend come from?

As for Dante, he doesn't want to show her that she comes from a "kids" show. But this also gives him an enormous piece of information: they come from a similar world.

Trying to shrug it off, I say, "Going back to the main theme weren't you supposed to be with someone else?"

Su Yuan calmly responded, "at any moment, she will appear just waiting for her."

And so in a serene quietness, the moth and the pegasus waited... and they waited... until 5 minutes passed.

With doubt seeping in my tone, I questioned, "Are you sure she is going to come?"

Su Yuan reassured, "Yeah, she is probably setting traps in her way or losing someone who is following her."

Curious about how big this place is, I ask, "Losing? Are there many players here?"

Su Yuan confirmed my deduction, "Of course, according to our info this place should bet between 2-20% of the entire map."

The information she revealed left me shocked, there were supposed to be 1000 players, but I didn't expect the place to be this small.

The moth warned about her information before I completely trusted it, "Don't trust my info. My moths didn't manage to go that far away."

Finally, emerging from the remnants of the ruined buildings, her friend made her presence be known, but her looks were quite... Peculiar too

A monotonous and robotic voice echoed, "Hello." the robot had a small figure imitating the female body to a certain extent; her color palette was red and white, ending with some aqua touches, and her face was replaced by a weird LED screen that imitated eyes. Yet it didn't look like metal nor any material I know... Giving off an otherworldly vibe.

A robot? Wow, this is crazy. I saw a few before, but they were quite rare. Is she an AI? "Hello um, Su Yuan friend?"

She responded with a cold and dry "Yes."

"May I know your name?"

She remained silent for a few seconds, attempting to process an answer before she presented herself as "Thalassa."

"That's a pretty name mine is Dante."

The robot, with a hint of confusion, asked, "but isn't that a male name?"

Nonchalantly, I responded, "I'm a man."

The robotic, high-pitched voice interjected, "Your body and pitch seem too high, having closer similarities with a female one. Does your race work differently from the majority?"

"No, I'm a man, trapped in this body that's all."

An odd atmosphere settled. Somehow, I could discern that Thalassa's LED eyes turned duller. As she looked at her body, the robot muttered, "Trapped..."

Dante was left confused by this reaction. Did she get stuffed into that machine in a similar fashion to him?

Sensing the tension, Su Yuan intervened, "Don't worry; you'll get used to it. She might not seem like it, but her personality is quite great. You just need to meet her, and she needs to get to know you. At the moment, she doesn't know how to speak to you."

Before we depart to the sky, I ask for their consent so they don't freak out for suddenly grabbing them and going full speed. "Okay, anyway, I live really high in the sky, so I'll carry both of you. Are you okay okay with that?"

Both responded with "Yes."

Authors note 1:

FINALLY, THALASSA IS HERE

She won't affect the plot much, but she is my favorite character from this work. nwn

Authors note 2:

I'll try to upload another chapter this Friday. Unless my friend invites me to play, another chapter should be ready this Friday. (Also, 2k word chapters try to comprehend why my updates are also slower. Some fan-fics out there just write 1000 words or less)

Authors note 3 (EDIT):

I felt this chapter lacked something... It's hard to convey it... I need to learn how to write better interactions between 2 living beings.
