Immortal Mythos: Bound by Void

Chapter 6: chapter 3:Uneasy Awakening

---

The day passed in a blur for Yuki. Each class felt like it dragged on forever, but the thoughts in his mind—Ren's words, the strange wind, the overwhelming sense that something was coming for him—kept him from concentrating. His hands tingled, like static was building under his skin, but every time he tried to focus on it, it faded away.

Still, there was something different about the air.

During lunch, Yuki went to sit by himself under the large oak tree in the school yard, hoping for some peace. The wind was gentle today, a soft breeze, but as he sat there, he felt it. That sensation again—the pull, like the air was tugging at him, urging him to remember something.

A small branch snapped off the tree above, falling into his lap with a soundless thud—as if the wind had placed it there, not gravity.

Yuki jumped, startled. He looked up at the tree, but the branches were still, nothing unusual. He frowned, brushing the leaf off his lap. He hadn't even heard the branch fall.

It was then that he noticed it—a figure in the distance, standing by the school gate. A man, tall and thin, wearing a dark coat that fluttered against the wind, like it obeyed something else entirely. His face was obscured by the shadows of a wide-brimmed hat, but Yuki felt those eyes—sharp, watching.

Yuki blinked, and when he looked again, the man was gone.

He tried to shake off the uneasy feeling, but a strange pressure was building in his chest. It felt as though someone, or something, was pulling at him, calling to him. He didn't know how, but he could sense the weight of eyes on him—eyes that weren't human.

His phone buzzed in his pocket, dragging him from his thoughts. He pulled it out to check the message from Ren.

> "Stay alert. You're not safe."

Yuki's pulse quickened. He looked around the yard again, trying to spot anything unusual, but the students were still going about their lunch, unaware. His eyes settled on the school gate once more, but the figure was gone.

He felt a chill run down his spine.

It wasn't just his imagination. Something was happening—something big.
