Imagination system

Chapter 14: A Leader’s Burden

Lu Fang stood at the entrance of the food storage room, his heart sinking as he pushed the door open. The shelves inside were completely empty. Not a single grain of rice, no cans, no scraps—nothing.

He clenched his fists, frustration building inside him. Hundreds of people were counting on him to lead, to keep them alive. But now, with no food, how could he do that?

He paced the room, his mind racing. The men in suit who had visited the shelter earlier came to mind. He had been sent by the liang family, his presence was unsettling. Could he have taken the food? It was the only explanation that made sense.

Sighing, Lu Fang sat down on the cold floor, leaning against the wall. The people in the shelter were already weak and hungry. If he didn't act fast, things could spiral out of control.

He closed his eyes and reached out to the system, he said, his voice steady despite the turmoil inside. "How many imagination points would it cost to provide enough food for a month?"

The system responded almost immediately.

[The points needed for that will be 15 points]

Lu Fang exhaled slowly. Fifteen points was a lot, but he didn't have a choice. "Do it," he said firmly.

The system replies:-

[15 points have deducted,Your imagination have been fullfilled ]

[Remaining points: 7 points]

The air around him shimmered, and in an instant, the room transformed. Boxes and bags of food appeared in neat stacks—rice, spaghetti, chicken, and even drinks. Everything looked fresh and untouched, as if it had come straight from a store.

Lu Fang inspected the food, his fingers brushing against the smooth packaging. It was more than he had expected. He quickly gathered enough for that night's dinner and carried it to the communal area.

The survivors were sitting together, their faces tired and worn. When they saw Lu Fang carrying food, their eyes widened in disbelief.

"Is that… food?" a man asked, his voice shaky.

Lu Fang nodded. " everyone. Come, let's eat."

The people hesitated, unsure if they could trust what they were seeing. But as the first plates were handed out, their doubts vanished.

"This is real rice," a woman whispered, tears streaming down her face.

"And chicken," another said, staring at his plate like it was a treasure.

As they ate, laughter and joy filled the shelter. For the first time in months, they weren't choking down expired rations or tasteless scraps. The food was fresh, delicious, and plentiful.

Li Lan andLi Mei approached Lu Fang as he finished handing out the last plates. Li Mei crossed her arms, her sharp eyes narrowing.

"Where did you get this food?" she asked. "We checked the storage earlier—it was empty."

Lu Fang met her gaze, his face calm. "It's a miracle," he said simply.

Li Lan looked at him for a long moment but didn't press further.

That night, the shelter grew quiet as people retreated to their tents, full and happy. It was the first time after the invasion that they felt hope.

Lu Fang stood guard outside. The night was calm, but his mind wasn't. He thought about the men in suit and the possibility that he had stolen the food. If that was true, then the liang family is coming for them.

"I'll protect them," he muttered, his eyes scanning the dark horizon. "No matter what."

---

Far from the shelter, in a dimly lit room, the Liang family head sat at a desk. The men in suit stood before him, their faces blank.

"Did you get the supplies?" the Liang family head said.

the men nodded and raised his hand. A faint glow appeared indicating that the men has f,rank storge ability , and a pile of expired food materialized on the floor.

"Yes, sir. Everything from the shelter's storage," the man said.

The Liang family head smirked. "Good. Let them starve. Lu Fang thinks he can survive after killing my son? He'll regret it soon enough."

He leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping against the desk. "Let them enjoy their little feast. When the alliance agreement ends, I'll make sure they suffer for every second of it."

His cold laughter echoed in the room, sending chills through anyone who heard it.
