I'm Really Not A Nen Exorcist (HxH Fanfic)

Chapter 714: Chapter 714 Unlocking The Reward

Time seemed to slow down.

The information he had gathered through his En now manifested in his mind as a complex, constellation-like pattern of nodes, and each nodes corresponding to a vital point on the bodies of the attacking Chimera Ants.

Moses suddenly opened his eyes, and in the dark night, a flash of red light flashed by in an instant.

Aura emerged in an instant, and the black sword held tightly in his hand suddenly slashed out.

As the blade cut through the air, it first extended in a burst of turbulent arc-shaped Aura, and then slashed from near to far on each node that corresponded to the vital points of the Chimera Ants.

Sss sss sss-

The lightning-fast blade light that blended with the night slashed through the bodies of the Chimera Ant Officers who had entered the 50-meter range.

When the blade light disappeared silently, the time of the Chimera Ant Officers were suddenly taken away.

They all suddenly froze in place, and a look of horror appeared on their faces that had some human features left.

In the next moment-

Their bodies, which were a unique blend of various animal genes and appeared to have different ages, were suddenly split into two. Some were decapitated, others cut in half at the torso, and some lost half their heads. The only thing they have in common was that they lost their lives at this moment.

Moses didn't bother retracting the extended blade of his black sword. Instead, he dispersed the black sword into Aura and reabsorbed it into his body.

At first glance, the varying points of impact on the Chimera Ants' bodies might have seemed random, influenced by their different sizes and positions.

However, this wasn't the case.

In that brief moment, Moses had processed all the information, and in the slowed flow of time, he had 'seen' the weak points in each Chimera Ant's Aura.

Using this as a foundation, he had pre-planned the trajectory of his strike.

With this as a prerequisite, he planned the slashing trajectory in advance.

Thud, thud…

The bisected bodies of the Chimera Ant Officers fell to the ground, their impacts echoing through the quiet forest.

In the stillness of the night, even the slightest sounds were amplified. Amid the loud thuds, however, a much softer sound went unnoticed.

The source of the faint sound was none other than the strongest member of this Chimera Ant squad, the Squadron Leader.

The Squadron Leader's name is Kodabi, and his genetic makeup was dominated by gecko traits. His long, agile, amber-colored body slithered rapidly across the ground, heading straight for Moses's back.

'I won't let your sacrifices be in vain!'

A hint of cold murderous intent flashed in Kodabi's brown vertical pupils as he looked at Moses's back.

The moment Kodabi had chosen to strike was when Moses retracted his black sword.

He didn't care whether Moses had let his guard down after killing the enemies or was simply overconfident in his strength.

As long as there was an opportunity, he wouldn't let it slip.

At that moment, Moses once again released his En.

However, the En this time was different.

Just moments ago, his En: Domain had finally met the conditions for unlocking its reward.

Initially, he had estimated it would take at least a week to unlock, but perhaps due to the intensity of the battles, his progress had accelerated significantly.

As a result, he achieved his goal in just four days.

[En: Clairvoyance]

This was the skill reward Moses had unlocked after meeting the conditions. It is the same type of ability as Ken: Bone-Plated Armor and Zetsu: Resurgence, both of which are advanced application of Nen Techniques.

The En: Clairvoyance Moses released quickly swept over Kodabi, who was charging at him with incredible speed.

Everything about Kodabi, what could be seen with the eyes, what could be heard with the ears, what was visible on the surface, and what was hidden deep within, was transformed into information as the En: Clairvoyance passed through his body.

This information was then processed and absorbed by Moses's mind.

Killing intent, movements, emotions, thoughts...

In an instant, Moses understood Kodabi's thoughts.

And so-

Moses suddenly turned around, stepped forward with his right foot, grasped the conjured black sword with his backhand, and pierced through Kodabi's forehead with lightning speed.

Squelch!

The black sword penetrated Kodabi's skull, sending a spray of blood and brain matter out the back of his head.

This is undoubtedly a one-hit kill.

Without leaving any room for reaction, the attack goes straight to the vital points.

Kodabi, who was in an attacking posture, had a look of astonishment, as if he had not expected that Moses would send the black sword directly into his head at a speed that he could not react to.

But in fact-

There was no fear of death in Kodabi's heart, but rather a feeling of joy at having achieved something he wanted.

This is related to his Nen Ability, [Tail Regeneration].

This is an Emission-type ability, and its specific effect is to transfer a single fatal injury to another part of his body within a short time frame.

With the effect of this ability, Kodabi's strategy became clear.

He had been hiding in the shadows and observing the battle, so he knew that Moses would retract his black sword immediately after a fight.

Whether this was a habit or something else, Kodabi saw this action as an opportunity he couldn't afford to miss.

Gather intelligence, use Nen Abilities to assist, and ultimately formulate tactics…

There's nothing wrong with that.

However, there were two things Kodabi didn't know.

First, he didn't understand how Moses' sword strikes, which had effortlessly bisected the Officers, differed from the way Chimera Ants used their claws and fangs to tear through their prey.

Second, he had no idea that the faint glowing circle Moses used was an advanced Nen Technique.

With no understanding of these things, Kodabi had no way to counter Moses' En or the Zetsu-enhanced sword slash.

All he knew now was-

His strategy worked.

A large amount of blood flowed out of Kodabi's forehead which was pierced by the black sword, and then flowed into his eyes which were rapidly dimming.

Moses looked at Kodabi meaningfully, then put away the black sword.

As the black sword disappeared, a gruesome hole was left in Kodabi's forehead, and his body, which had lost support, began to slump toward Moses.

Seeing this, Moses simply took a step back and let Kodabi's body collapse to the ground.

But then-

Kodabi's drooping eyes suddenly flickered with light again, and his arms, which had been hanging down limply, suddenly shot forward, driving his sharp claws together to stab towards Moses's heart.

'Hahahaha, you're dead!!!'

At this moment, excitement rose in Kodabi's heart.

However, when he looked up, what greeted him wasn't the sight of his claws piercing Moses' chest. Instead, the world around him spun violently.

"Huh?!"

Kodabi was confused for a moment, unaware that his head was already in Moses's hand.

"Gecko genes, huh?"

Moses casually crushed Kodabi's head that he had just taken off, and said to himself: "That makes sense."

As everyone knows, a gecko only has one tail.

Therefore, Kodabi's [Tail Regeneration] ability could only be used once in a short period.

'The special application of En... it's quite useful.'

Moses shook off the blood on his hands and thought silently in his heart.

Above the night sky,

A dragonfly Chimera Ant observed the battle unfolding in the forest and relayed the details to its companions, who were waiting for the right moment to strike.

"Are humans really this strong?"

Among his companions, there is a Squadron Leader whose main gene is lion.

After hearing the report from the dragonfly Chimera Ant, he decisively gave up the plan of hunting Moses.

They're not on the same level...

At least, not right now!
