I’m Not That Obsessive

Chapter 83

Chapter 83

“Ah, why now of all times…”

A visitor while I’m showering. I quickly dried off with a towel and came out, and the call switched back. Mitchell’s voice mixed with the doorbell.

– Geon-woo. Who came?

“Huh? Yeah.”

It seems Mitchell’s phone got a notification too.

– I saw who it is. No need to open the door.

“Who is it?”

– Did you come out to the living room?

“Yeah. Should I go back in?”

– Go back. Let’s video call when you’re back inside.

“Okay. But they keep ringing the bell. Is it okay to just leave it?”

– Leave it. Just show me your pretty thing.

“Tch.”

Despite grumbling, I did as Mitchell wanted. I went into the bathroom to video call.

The visitor’s face would be recorded on my phone too, but I didn’t bother to check. When I asked who came earlier, Mitchell didn’t answer.

Not needing to say means I don’t need to know. So I didn’t need to be curious either.

I immediately accepted the video call request. As soon as Mitchell’s excited face appeared on screen, I gave him a big smile.

Then I turned the camera to show my naked body. It was more embarrassing than I thought, so I only showed my upper body, but Mitchell shook his head.

I quietly grumbled as I adjusted the camera to show my whole body.

“Hmm. It feels a bit odd to be the only one showing?”

– Should I show too?

“No, no! Absolutely not.”

While I could understand, with much concession, two people being caught tangled together, one person filming between their legs with a phone is extremely perverse.

Not wanting to give Mitchell a strange reputation, I strongly objected, and fortunately, Mitchell’s zipper stayed up.

Meanwhile, the doorbell that had been irritating my ears stopped.

– I can’t see well. Lower the camera a bit. Closer.

“I knew you’d be like this. You go crazy for male bodies, don’t you?”

– Not all male bodies are the same, you know?

“I’m sure. Yes, yes. I know. I get it.”

I finished mocking him and lowered the phone. I focused so Mitchell could see well.

Somehow, my body that I could see with my eyes and what appeared on screen seemed like different entities.

Sigh… What am I doing right now?

A moment of small reality check passed. Yet, at the request to show a bit more, I brought my body closer to the camera.

To be with Mitchell, I had to endure any bolt from the blue. Knowing this, I sometimes wavered, but in the end, I never went against Mitchell’s wishes.

Besides, I should be grateful that he likes my lower half so much, which most men would detest.

– You have a mole there?

The man observing my embarrassing parts found a mole I didn’t know about. There really was a small mole down there.

– Next time, I’ll lick there. No, I’ll bite it.

“…Do as you please.”

I thought it was fortunate that my beet-red face wasn’t captured by the camera.

Mitchell scrutinized my body for a long time.

“Unless you’re writing a thesis about my body, stop looking already.”

I complained as I moved the camera back. But I didn’t end the video call. I set up the phone in front of the mirror and we chatted about various things while seeing each other’s faces.

It was nothing special, but I couldn’t stop smiling. It was natural for me, and the same for Mitchell.

“Ah, right. Mitchell, I’m going to go out for a bit later. Just for a walk and such.”

– No. What walk with that leg?

“I can walk well now. The doctor said light exercise is fine. I feel stuffy being in the house all the time.”

– That’s your original major, isn’t it? Staying at home.

“Well, that’s true.”

I scratched my chest and laughed awkwardly.

“But I need to go out. There’s nothing to eat at home.”

– Why is there nothing to eat at home?

“I don’t want to eat packed meals. I don’t like bread or toast.”

– …I’ll call a cooking helper from tomorrow. Someone who can make Korean food.

“That’s not what I meant…”

– Just bear with it for a day. Or should I order delivery for you?

“No, I was planning to buy food and take a walk. I feel low on energy since I can’t follow you to your filming location.”

It wasn’t intentional, but my shoulders drooped. As my wet body dried, I felt a chill and put on the robe hanging nearby. Mitchell looked very reluctant but didn’t particularly stop me.

– Even if we film as fast as possible, we still have at least two more months of shooting.

“I know. That’s why I…”

Before I could finish, someone called for Mitchell. From what I could hear, it seemed he needed to start filming now.

– Let’s talk later. If you don’t want packed meals, order delivery.

“Hmm…”

– I’ll call you back.

“Alright, take care.”

Only after hanging up did I properly shower again. I bowed my head and checked the mole between my thighs once more. I scrubbed that spot, which had suddenly become a treasure, especially thoroughly.

After changing into fresh clothes, I looked around the clean house before heading to the bedroom. I was going to get my credit card to do something I might get scolded for.

The credit card I’m using now is Mitchell’s. Since Mitchell has been paying for my living expenses after my house burned down, I’ve been dutifully using Mitchell’s money.

Not only that, but Mitchell gave me his credit card and took away mine. He said it was to prevent me from using my own card out of guilt towards him.

The funny thing is, Mitchell took not just my credit card, but also my debit card, passport, and ID.

In America, cash is often used, so a debit card is necessary, but of course, even that was taken away. As a result, I had no choice but to live on Mitchell’s card and the cash he gives me.

The cash is stuffed in the bottom drawer of the bedside table. The large drawer, 60cm wide, is packed with dollars like a plump pillow.

He deliberately piled up cash for me to take and use as much as I want. Our Mitchell was indeed quite generous.

After finding Mitchell’s card, I took out a few dollar bills from the drawer. Taking out bills from a drawer rather than a wallet or bank account… Mitchell was a peculiar person no matter how you looked at it.

After filling my pockets, I left the house. Although I didn’t get Mitchell’s permission, I thought it would be okay to sneak out for just thirty minutes. I felt I needed at least a walk to clear my stuffy mind.

I checked the door that doesn’t even lock and went down the hill. I didn’t use the car because I really wanted to walk a bit. My injured leg was only slightly uncomfortable but not painful.

I didn’t think deeply about who the culprit was that had done this to my leg. Of course, it would be a lie to say I wasn’t curious.

But I didn’t deliberately try to recall the situation or guess who it might be.

I just erased it from my mind.

Catching the culprit is the police’s job, and even if the police fail to do so, it’s not like I’m going to catch the culprit myself.

I tried to simplify things. If I thought about someone with a grudge against me attacking me, it felt like the world would turn upside down and I’d feel sick.

Negative thoughts are forbidden and taboo for me. I quickly filled my mind with thoughts of Mitchell.

‘Mitchell said he’d bite my mole, didn’t he? Will we do it again then? This time I should ask to do it on the bed.’

Thinking of Mitchell brought sunshine to my gloomy mind. My steps became lighter, and even my uncomfortable leg suddenly felt fine.

Ah, Mitchell. Mitchell.

How can I not think of you when you’re like this?

He was a blessing itself to me.

As my mind lightened, positive thoughts came too. There will be ways to act somehow. Although two scripts with Mitchell’s help fell through, those weren’t roles I got on my own. I decided to think slowly for now.

I took a walk outside after a long time and got seafood fried rice packed from a nearby restaurant. It wasn’t exactly the menu I wanted, but I just wanted to eat rice.

I would have been happy if there was at least a Chinese or Japanese restaurant near the house if not a Korean one, but that was regrettable.

Excited, I kept opening the bag to check and recheck the food. Eating at the restaurant would make the outing too long. I had to get home as quickly as possible before Mitchell contacted me.

If you turn from the main road and follow the side road straight, our house’s iron gate appears. Only we use this side road, but a car had entered.

Huh?

It seemed like it was following me. The car suddenly stopped beside me.

Soon, the window slowly rolled down.

“Geon-woo!”

‘Ah, this guy…’

The insufferable Inbeom Yoon had come to find me again.

“What brings you here?”

“Seems like you weren’t home earlier.”

It looks like this guy was the one who rang the doorbell earlier. If no one’s home, he should have just left, why come again? He certainly had a talent for bothering people.

“But why?”

“Why? I came because I was worried about you. Your leg probably hasn’t fully healed, should you be walking around like this? Come on, get in. I’ll give you a ride.”

“What ride? My house is right there.”

“I mean I’ll take you to your front door.”

“It’s fine. Just go. You go too. I’m really okay.”

“Wow, is this how you send off someone who came because they were worried about you? Even at the hospital last time, I was practically kicked out.”

“That’s because you’re being excessive. Even though I say I’m fine, you keep…”

“Geon-woo, let’s not do this here and go to my house. Honestly, you’re uncomfortable living in Mitchell’s house, aren’t you?”

“See? You’re being excessive again.”

“It’s not excessive, it’s true that you’re uncomfortable, right? That’s why I’m saying stay at my house. If that’s burdensome too, I have a second house I’m not using. You can stay there.”

“There’s a second house here too. A second house so nice you’d faint if you saw it.”

It wasn’t exactly a lie.

“Anyway, I’m not even a speck uncomfortable staying here, so please stop. If you miss Koreans, go to a Korean association or something. There’s Koreatown too.”

“You’re not listening.”

“Hey! That’s my line!”

“You weren’t like this before.”

“Me? How was I?”

Inbeom Yoon shrugged and said,

“You liked me in Korea.”

…What’s this bastard saying?
