Chapter 232: INIIDF-Chapter 229 Enemies?
Sonia and Mari, who at first had seemed half dead from the seawater, immediately perked up.
"My strength is back!" Mari exclaimed happily, pressing a hand to her chest. She knew that Giorno's spirit had temporarily taken away her Devil Fruit powers.
"This is great! Now I can swim again..." Sonia pushed her big sister aside and dove into the water. When she resurfaced, her long green wavy hair spread out like seaweed, and she waved lazily at Giorno on the ship. "Thanks, Giorno!" she said, stretching her long limbs in contentment, her body swaying gently with the waves.
Liam handed the armor and the four Devil Fruit chips to his stand.
B.I.B. nodded and went to the deck to find a thick rope. With a quick flick, the rope seemed to come to life and skillfully tied all the unconscious Marines into a large bundle.
With the bundle of Marines in tow, the dark Stand slipped off into the night, heading for the island.
Robin, who had removed her outer clothing and changed into something more suitable for swimming, stood hesitantly at the edge of the ship.
Liam, noting that Robin couldn't swim, found this unsurprising. She must have eaten the Flower-Flower Fruit (Hana Hana no Mi) when she was very young, essentially losing her ability to swim. Before that, she was too young to have learned to swim, and after meeting Liam, he had never seen her go into the water without her Devil Fruit powers.
As Robin hesitated, Liam suddenly grabbed her and pulled her straight into the black sea.
"Ah!" Robin gasped, startled before a "Pū Tōng" sound rang out as they plunged into the water.
The world seemed to fall silent, the only sound being the rushing water.
Her short, well-trimmed hair spread like ink in the water. Robin kicked her long limbs hard, and just as she felt a warmth around her waist, a strong arm wrapped around her and quickly pulled her back to the surface.
"Huā lā," Robin breathed heavily, leaning against Liam's solid body, gasping for air. Her chest rose and fell with each breath. Water droplets clung to her face, making her look even more delicate, like a lotus rising from the water.
Her pretty eyes, red from the seawater, met Liam's gaze as he held her close.
For a moment, the two fell into silence, only the sound of the waves and their breathing filling the space.
Pressed against Liam's chest, Robin felt the warmth of his skin against the cold seawater. Without thinking, she leaned in closer, wrapping her arms around his neck, pressing her body against his, and whispered in his ear, "My face!"
"By the way, why is Nee San (Elder Sister) suddenly swimming at night?" Mari's voice rang out from the other side.
Liam held Robin tightly and called out, "You girls have fun, I'm going to teach her how to swim!"
With that, he dove back into the sea, holding Robin with him. Even though his arms were immobilized, he moved with incredible speed, relying on the power of his legs.
Under the dim water, Liam glanced down and saw a faint look of discomfort in Robin's eyes. She couldn't help but release a series of bubbles, which floated past Liam's cheek.
'Is she running out of breath?' Liam didn't think too much about it and leaned in closer to her.
Robin's eyes widened in surprise.
On the water's surface, Mari floated, surprised. "So Princess Jolyne can't swim…"
"She's always been a Devil Fruit user, so she never had the chance to learn," Sonia said, leisurely swimming and laughing. "She's so proud, she doesn't want us to see her looking clumsy while learning to swim, right?"
'Is that really it…' Hancock thought while gazing at the empty, black sea. She felt that the girl, who seemed so much more mature than herself, didn't appear to be someone overly concerned with saving face.
On the other side of the pirate ship, the two floated up to the surface of the water.
"Cough cough…" Robin coughed a couple of times, tightly clutching onto Liam as she coughed. Liam carefully patted her back.
"Are you okay?" Liam asked, apologizing. "I forgot you still need the Flower-Flower Fruit (Hana Hana no Mi) to maintain your disguise…"
Robin took a deep breath and shook her head.
Her face was covered in water droplets, her brows and eyes were also damp. She spoke softly, with a slight smile, "Sometimes, I do want to show my real face…"
Liam chuckled. "But this face is much better! The face of Jolyne (Kūjō Jolyne), it just feels…"
The waves rippled, and their breathing was audible.
After a moment of silence, Robin nudged him gently. "Aren't you supposed to teach me how to swim?"
—
The sky began to brighten.
In the various small towns on the island, groups of flashy Kuja women were chatting and laughing as they headed back together.
Along the way, they noticed a large crowd gathered ahead as if something unusual had happened, and they were in a heated discussion.
"What's going on this early?"
"Who knows…"
The female warriors curiously moved closer. The taller ones stood on tiptoe and saw the situation in the clearing at the center of the crowd.
"Pū Chī." One of them couldn't help but laugh. "How embarrassing for them!"
"What's going on?" The other female warriors grew more curious and pushed through the crowd, making their way to the front. They immediately saw around twenty Marines tied together with ropes—still in their uniforms.
Some Marines had already woken up, while others continued to feign unconsciousness, and a few struggled desperately, trying to break free from the ropes. Seeing the crowd around them, they shouted, "Why is everyone just watching? Come help us!"
At their cry, the crowd burst into laughter.
The Marines, looking confused, glanced down at their uniforms, only to see a large phrase written on them: "I love Flower Girl!"
It was as if their heads had been struck, and the Marine felt dizzy, almost passing out.
When he looked at his tied-up comrades, he saw similar things written on their uniforms… "Flower Girl is so beautiful," "Our favorite thing to do is slander the women's ship," "Sisters, come play in the water!" "I want to quit and join the Kuja Pirates!!"…
On Colonel Augat's face, he saw the word lust written on his left cheek, wolf on his right, and a large 'big' written on his forehead!
Augat's arms were twisted into knots like noodles, and he slowly began to regain consciousness through the pain.
Once he grasped what had happened, the shock, anger, and humiliation were overwhelming, driving him mad. He transformed into his wolf form and roared, "Kuja Pirates! I'll never forgive you!!!"
From within the crowd, the Kuja female warriors covered their ears, sarcastically commenting, "We're pirates, you're Marines, we've always been enemies, haven't we?"
"Who is it?!" Augat raised his wolf head, glaring angrily.
One by one, the female warriors walked out, grinning. "We're members of the Kuja Pirates. So, what do you think? This Marine, I hear you and we are enemies?"
"There are pirates?!"
The surrounding crowd gasped and quickly scattered.
Some people, unable to move, stared with wide eyes at the beautiful woman. "No wonder the Marines get the wrong idea…"
"That's not true!!!" The bound Marines all opened their eyes and shouted in unison.
