Chapter 276: A Little Fun?
Once Lillian had returned back to the living room, she had found that her mother had already disappeared. Asking Marionette about it, she discovered that it was because she had decided to rest for the day.
"Oh, is that so...? Kinda wanted to talk with her a little more, but that's alright." She fell back onto the couch, leaning her shoulder against the Assassin whilst sighing.
She closed her eyes for a brief moment but soon opened them once she felt movement over her legs.
Assuming that the Assassin was back to caressing her legs, she opened her eyes to see.
In the end, she was wrong.
Marionette, gripping the edge of a thin blanket, placed it over the white-haired girl's lap, keeping them warm. She then moved back, adjusting her posture, before leaning against Lillian as well.
The TV inside the living room was off. And so was the lights.
Except for a corner lamp, which caused their surroundings to be dimly lit. This made for a rather romantic mood and calming atmosphere.
"How did you find this part of the tournament?" Lillian asked suddenly.
She raised her gaze towards the Assassin's face, finding them staring down at her with a raised brow.
"I believe you already asked me."
Lillian tilted her head, thinking for a moment as she tried to recall.
"Mmm... But I want to hear you say it again..."
Lillian then smirked before adding flirtatiously:
"Because I really like hearing your voice."
"..."
Marionette stared down at Lillian's face, thinking up an answer to respond to the girl's words. She closed her eyes for a split second before eventually answering:
"Would you also like to be kissed?"
"H-huh?"
Lillian felt something slip onto her leg under the blanket.
Stiffening, she pinched and lifted the blanket, finding the woman's slender fingers dancing on the skin of her bare legs. She was wearing shorts.
Lillian's face twitched, "You... Do you just try to find any sort of way to kiss me?"
"Why do you ask? Do you perhaps dislike my touch and attention?"
Lillian felt the woman shift closer to her, leaning her body weight more against her body. She then felt the Assassin's mouth hovering over the side of her ear, breathing hot air into it.
Lillian, turning her face to the woman, asked with a wry smile:
"Are you trying to seduce me right now?"
"... Was it that obvious?"
Lillian gave a crooked smile at that, her brow twitching at the woman's blatant display of affection towards her, which she wasn't against but found rather difficult to respond to at the current moment.
"Could you at least answer the question before doing something perverte—"
"Perverted?"
Marionette pulled her hand away from the girl's thigh, folding her arms as she huffed at what the Rabbit had said.
She then said:
"I'm in no way perverted, Lillian."
As she said this, she gained an odd look from Lillian, who didn't believe her for even a sliver. Considering that the woman had just been caressing her leg just a second ago was enough to prove something.
"Uh... Yes, you are? You might even be as perverted as Milli—"
"I'd argue that is an insult, Lillian."
Marionette narrowed her eyes on the girl's face, snorting with an offended expression. Being compared to Millis in the matter of pervertedness was extremely offensive to the Assassin.
Especially since the Heroine talks about groping women occasionally and cat-calling them.
Lillian sighed as she stared at her girlfriend's face, finding her gaze burrowing into the centre of her forehead like lasers.
In an attempt to calm her down, she raised her arm and wrapped it around the Assassin's neck.
She then gave her a playful wink, adopting a more sultry voice, before saying:
"Don't get worked up, babe~... Like I said before, I like it when women are bold~..."
Raising her other hand, she stretched out her index finger and moved it towards the woman's nose, tapping it gently.
"Especially you, Mari."
Marionette, staring as the finger left the tip of her nose, gave one last huff as her expression relaxed.
She then decided to answer Lillian's earlier question.
"The match was fine. Slightly difficult due to the revolver. But fine, nonetheless."
Looking towards Lillian, she blinked before adding:
"Would have been better with you there."
"Eh..." Lillian thought about it before smirking with an arrogant expression, "That would be a bit overkill."
Marionette smiled at Lillian's confidence. Her smile then turned into a frown as another topic popped into her mind—specifically, the memory wipe her father had done to her girlfriend.
"Lillian, may I ask, what did you remember from our encounter with my father?"
Lillian raised an eyebrow—confused by the Assassin's question.
"Uh... We shook hands, talked about you, and that's about it."
She then grinned as she pointed her finger at the Assassin mischievously.
"I also remember you looking very scared!"
Marionette slowly watched as Lillian pulled away and widened her arms before coming back in for a hug that she could only describe as a teasing one.
Lillian patted the Assassin, quietly muttering into the woman's ear:
"Don't worry~... I'm here now~... No need to be afraid~"
Marionette's face twitched, feeling annoyed by Lillian's mocking words before sighing. As much as she wanted to retort and explain the reason why Lillian should be afraid as well, she ultimately didn't.
Instead, she decided to lean into the girl's touch, enjoying the moment.
There wasn't a need to ruin it, after all.
However, that didn't mean she didn't think more about what Lillian had said. Specifically, the part where she described what she remembered.
Could it be... She was resistant to these types of things? Immune, even?
No...
Due to the girl's lack of fear, she didn't seem to remember the part where she was strangled. So, it was either a major resistance to memory erasure or... That the Item had somehow become faulty.
As she was thinking this, she hadn't realised that she was now lying on her back. It was only as soon as she felt something make contact with her lips that she broke out of her thoughts.
Chu~...
Lillian lifted her face and hovered on the Assassin's eyes that stared at her in surprise.
Lillian smiled softly and said:
"Now that the questions are out of the way... We can have a little fun before bed~..."
