Chapter 24
Upon arriving in Tokyo, the two of them headed straight for Gucci in Ginza, following Hitomi’s lead.
“Here, we’ll get semi-formal attire—something stylish, like a jacket and pants.”
“O-Ohhh…”
For some reason, Hitomi’s demeanor had changed drastically, and it wasn’t quite what I had expected. I could only manage a half-hearted response.
As soon as we arrived at the store, the staff rushed over.
“Welcome, Miss Yuuki.”
“We’d like to select a jacket and pants for Mr. Kirishima here.”
“Understood.”
For some reason, everyone moved according to Hitomi’s instructions, as if she were some kind of VIP. I stood there, feeling like I had become a mere specimen, as they thoroughly measured every inch of my body.
At that moment, I realized, “Ah, we’re not just buying something off the rack—we’re ordering a custom piece.” That realization made me a little nervous.
Together, we selected fabrics, styles, and embroidery. The final product would take about two months to be completed.
“Next, we’re heading to Brioni,” Hitomi announced, taking on the air of a director.
“Yes, ma’am.”
I was barely keeping up with my responses at this point.
Upon arriving at Brioni, Director Yuuki issued her next directive.
“Here, we’re tailoring formalwear.
You’ll need attire suitable for dress-code-enforced parties—a tuxedo and a classic black suit.”
“Yes!” I responded like a rookie soldier.
“Welcome, Miss Yuuki.”
Once again, Hitomi was treated as a VIP. I was starting to feel intimidated by her influence.
“We’d like to have a tuxedo and formalwear bespoke-made for Mr. Kirishima.”
Later, I learned that “bespoke” meant full customization—tailored precisely to the customer’s needs. The term comes from “be spoken,” meaning each detail is discussed thoroughly.
Despite that explanation, the atmosphere between Hitomi and the staff already felt like that of seasoned professionals.
Shouldn’t we actually be discussing things in detail?
“By the way, Brioni is known for their tuxedos. You can expect top quality. Even a certain secret agent with a license to kill is a loyal customer.”
Hitomi laughed as she spoke, but was she seriously trying to equip me with a double-O license?
After placing the bespoke order at Brioni, we quickly moved on to the next stop.
“Next, we’re heading to the Dunhill Ginza flagship store.”
“Oh, I’ve actually heard of Dunhill before! That makes it feel a bit more familiar!”
At that moment, I naïvely thought this would be easier than the previous stops.
“Well, let’s see about that.
We’re still doing a full bespoke order, so it won’t be like regular Dunhill.
The Ginza flagship store is the only place in Japan where you can place a bespoke order.”
“Dark clouds are already gathering over this…”
“This is the last stop for suits, so hang in there!”
“Y-Yes…”
“Welcome, Miss Yuuki. Are you here on behalf of your father today, or…?”
“Hello, Mr. Kimura. No, today it’s for my dear boyfriend, who wishes to order a sharp, sophisticated suit.”
Hitomi flashed a polished, professional smile—completely different from how she had been earlier.
“To think the little Miss Yuuki has grown so much…
Understood. I, Kimura, will craft this with the utmost sincerity.
Please feel free to wait in the salon, Miss Yuuki.”
“Thank you. I’ll leave it to you.
I’ll be waiting for you in the salon, Akira-kun.”
Despite feeling slightly anxious, I noticed that this store’s approach was different from the previous ones.
After bidding farewell to Hitomi, I struck up a conversation with Mr. Kimura.
“You seem to have a long-standing relationship with the Yuuki family?”
“Yes, I personally craft all of Mr. Yuuki’s suits. I also handle Miss Hitomi’s suits and dresses.
Pardon my late introduction—I am Kimura, head of the bespoke suit department at Dunhill Ginza and an advisor to Dunhill Japan.”
Saying this, Kimura handed me his business card.
This man was a big deal.
“Ah, um, I’m Kirishima. It’s a pleasure to work with you today.”
Despite chatting casually, Kimura never faltered in his measurements, and before I knew it, we were already selecting fabrics, lapels, cuffs, and buttons.
In the end, I ordered summer and winter suits, a winter long coat, dress shirts, and a belt.
The suits and coat would take a while to arrive, but I realized my impulse buying was largely influenced by Kimura’s charisma.
“Rising to the top in an international company really takes something special…”
I muttered internally, appreciating the pleasant time I had spent there.
After expressing our gratitude to Kimura, Hitomi and I moved on to our next destination.
“Next, let’s take a short walk to Marunouchi! We’re buying shoes next!”
Feeling good after the Dunhill experience, I cheerfully responded, “Got it!”
